  1. As for the recent XCOM games: I do not recommend starting with XCOM 2 - even veterans find that game tricky to gel with. Go with Vanilla XCOM 1, as it does a good job of introducing concepts with a steady difficulty curve. Just put it on the easiest difficulty and I'd say it's a great intro to those kind of bigger games.

This is precisely what I didn't want to hear :(

I mean it did happen in OW1, it's just the reduction in team size means, with the number of dps the same, you have a 1/5 chance of being their target rather than 1/6. It's particularly a problem for Zen because unlike all the other supports he's slow and has no quicker method of traversal.

  3. Yeah It's a whole lot better once you have finally ground out some upgrades. Which is a shame, as getting to that point requires a lot of tedium and sort of mediocrity before it reveals itself.

It's made everything a bit more frantic and the centre of the action seems to change constantly with there just being the one tank. Having the 2 tanks previously seemed to make combat just always revolve around where they'd decided to set up shop but now there's more manoeuvring going on I feel like.

I think the problem I was finding is I felt a lot more squishy as Zenyatta for example as the numbers game means you're more likely to get picked off as there are fewer other heros to hide behind, and fewer targets for the enemy to pick between. And the requirement for more mobility means heros like him will really suffer. An opposing Cassidy just kept killing me and there was very little I could do about it and felt isolated way more often than in 6v6.

The game literally won't let me log in now though so my chance to explore further is done for tonight regardless
