Ah I see, thats cool then. I'm really enjoying this again, never played it properly when I got it for some reason but it's just classic. So this is gonna be my game for the Christmas period!

Oh my god I love the Rocket! What a nippy wee bastard. Never even heard of it before!

Thats quite cool! But having to buy DLC with actual MS Points is gay! Up to 47,000 Kudos now..

Well give me a while, this might be okay. I just done one easy overtake race and got 4,000 for that alone. So I could make the cut quickly if it's this easy. Whats this?

Well how do I get 115,000 kudos that fast then? I have played this game for like half an hour before.

Nice one, I guess it's not the realistic type of game for using the wheel with like Forza was. Here I don't have Big Ben 10 route in my time attacks!!? WHITTT! Just found out I need 115,000 Kudos. I only have 24,000!

Off to fire this up now and see how good I can do in the time trial. Not played this for months, and then it was with the wheel. Gonna use the pad now though.
  8. Yeah I would definitely have loved to see some interviews with him. I'm guessing they would never have had the time to sit down and do a directors commentary with the likes of Ledger and Bale together either, that would have been brilliant.
  9. Nice one, I considered taking my own photographs too but as you say there are so many high quality sites out there with brilliant textures to use already. As long as they aren't copyright protected, it's deemed okay to use textures that aren't your own then? I do love seeing work in progress, it really helps understand how you got from original sketch to final render so anything like that you post I will lap it up! Are you modelling this in Max right now then? And once done, exporting it all to UEd?

Ahhhh that's it!! I knew I recognised it and when I realised it wasn't Poy I was just confused! Cloud was great, I loved that one too. Anyway, back to work!

Me and a friend from uni were just looking at some of the amazing showreels from Hertfordshire uni and yours appeared in it! Was quite funny when I seen it. Are you in the same class as the guy who created the World War animation? That was fantastic! Shit, I think I just realised I was wrong! It was something else, that was similar in style to yours that I'd somehow seen before and thought it was this! Sorry to hijack the thread for that.
  12. Yeah I remember seeing the map before, you must have posted it in the 3D Thread or something. Looks cool! Gonna get the UT3 boxset you mentioned anyway. Seems like the best bet for teaching myself UEd with 20 odd hours of video apparently it's bound to help.
  13. Looking good so far, interested to see how the texturing will turn out. You going to create all your textures from scratch, using your own reference images or what?
  14. Nah it's interior. Not big expansive outside ones. And I don't want to be messing about with "level editors" if that's what they are. Need to create my own stuff. Spoke to someone from uni today and they also said Unreal engine is the best one to go for. Can I download it for free or do I need to own a UE3 game on the PC to use it?
  15. Right cool I knew Asura was doing his whole GoW thing, didn't see him mention he was doing it as a mod for UT3 though. I have him on MSN so I'll be picking his brain on it all tonight for some advice if he would be so kind! Thanks for the help so far by the way nicky.
  16. Nice one thanks, I'll push forward and look at UE3 for the meantime then and see how it goes. If it's the better of the two then I'll gladly spend the time learning it if it means I can produce better results. Is it best to create everything in a separate package then import to UE3? I use Lightwave but seems to not be as widely used or mentioned when researching all this, mostly Maya and 3Ds Max.
  17. Hi guys, Not sure if anyone is able to help here but I'm just looking for any advice possible that may help me or lead me in the right direction. Next semester starting in February, in my Computer Animation course, we have a module which is to basically do whatever you want, create an animation, a 3D environment, a fully animatable character, whatever. Now I've planned to design this fairly small but very high detailed 3D environment and have a camera flythrough it for the final animation as a showreel kinda thing hopefully to send off to prospective employees in the games industry when I finish uni. But now after some discussion with some lecturers, they are saying it would be quite beneficial to try and create this in some game engine instead of just a 3D application of my choice so it can actually be used and run as a game level. Obviously this makes sense as if I want to get into level design, surely I should start designing playable levels now following the rules and regulations of a specific engine rather than doing it all any old way I like. But I have no idea where to start with it. Done a bit of research on the two engines you hear about most, Source and Unreal but not sure which I should be using, if either. If anyone has any experience in this field I would love some advice, whether it's straight from yourself, or even any websites or books you know of that would help with the process. This is all still in the idea stage right now, totally up in the air. I've been scouring about the internet for a few days now regarding this and I'm quite confused with what I should be doing now so I need more info before I can 100% commit to it and make some decent progress before uni starts back. Cheers!

    PGR 4

I got this about 6 months ago for pennies and played it for about an hour and turned it off. I loved PGR2 and had loads of friends on Live at the time that played it, as you say the community for that game was fantastic. I remember playing it all through the summer back then, was such a laugh. Need to get that again with PGR4 so gonna put it on again I think. I found that even though I have the wheel for PS3 and 360, I can't enjoy games as much when using it. I need to relax and sit back with the pad in my hand to enjoy as I think most people will use the pad when playing online too?
  19. Well watched my Bluray today! Fucking awesome! I loved this film so much. Obviously seeing it at the Imax made it a jillion times better but still really awesome watching it again on Bluray now. And no action...? WTF.
  20. My Play order was posted today, so I'm hoping for a Monday delivery. Can't wait to see it again on BD now!
  21. A remake? Didn't Tarantino completely write this himself?
  22. Morrisons near me doesn't even do Blurays! Got my mum to check while she was out so it'll need to wait until tomorrow now! Very interesting about the whole 24-25fps 96% thing! Never realised that before!
  23. Take it this is the DVD and not the BD?
