So, what you are saying is a loss isn't as good a result as a draw?
Wait there, I'll alert the media.
At 3-0 after 30 minutes it almost did look over, which is why I'm so pleasantly relieved.

Jeez, that could have been worse by full time.
Every time we look on the up after a while, we just can't help but press this:
Still, the dream is not over yet!

Master League Online - beta sign ups.
http://www.konamisupport.com/mlo_beta/country/
beta starts in just over 4 days.
Well, I signed up because I like to be punched repeatedly in the balls by an old friend.
I even went to the trouble of getting a one month Gold sub for a whole pound.

I am, but I only have 50mb left on my 60GB HDD and I don't want to delete anything
And 250GB is sold out on Shopto & it seems they are no longer stocking it. Blah.
Why don't you get a cheapo 16GB USB drive instead, just to tide you over?

I really do want this to be good. I haven't enjoyed a football game for over five years now and Fifa really does not tickle my balls. They have definitely put some new animations in so, y'know, they are only four years behind the competition now.
Seabass and the PES team will probably still fuck everything up as usual.
I can't wait for the terrible demo!

So, wait a minute, a Kinect on its own and a game will be more expensive than a Wii...
Did they hire the people behind Gizmondo to handle the launch of this thing or what?

So who of the English folk in here is going to own up to backing Germany in some way?I did because from England's group games I could see disaster looming against a side that could actually play. Only £73 in winnings sadly, I just wished I had the guts to lay some real money down. I'll never be a ruined man facing bailiffs and a life on the streets with this attitude will I?

I've been shitting on Kinect a lot recently so it's only fair that I post more (potentially) bad news about it.
That bastion of embarrassing fanboy nerdism, Neogaf, has a thread about how only 2 players are supported by Kinect at any one time - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=398914
This is really odd, if true, especially as that fake target video last year had oh-so PC families of 4 playing other families of 4 at a quiz game over Live (yeah right). And they were sitting down.
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/ma...e-96337804.html
Players can also grow that party at home with up to four players on Wii™ and PlayStation Move, and up to two players on Kinect for Xbox 360.Fuck's sake, I was really looking forward to playing this with my three fat brothers.

Kinect looks flakey as hell and has Deca Sports level shovelware for launch. Move at least looks like it works and has a greater variety of games.
I'm buying neither but where's the poll at?

England's quite frankly shocking lack of form has netted me £45 from Betfair so far. I also managed to squeeze in a lay bet on England to qualify from the group at a ridiculously generous 1.12 before things really went south, so that is potentially £115 more profit right there.
They are still offering a staggering 8.2 for a Slovenia win and 4.3 for the draw as I type this and at this point it feels like they are giving out free money, cake and hookers.
So England to win 5 - 0 then...

Actually, didn't Microsoft last year say that Natal would be bundled with every new 360 when launched?
0 -
Built-in? Do you have your 360 directly beneath your TV, at the exact midpoint of the screen? I don't and I'm sure many others don't either.
I think that he means that the Kinect would come with the new console to create a new standard as with the Wii remote and the Wii, rather than have the Eye Toy* next to the disc drive of your 360 in your media centre from Ikea.
*Yeah, I went there.

Seriously though, it doesn't matter that this thing is an internal tech experiment that went a bit too far and doesn't work, it's all about the games...
See, there's a dancing game, a sports game, a sports game, a sports game, a fitness game, a dancing game, a sports game, a fitness game, a fitness game, a dancing game, a sports game, a pedophile tiger attack game, a dancing game, a sports game, a sports game and a sports game.
And Sonic.
And a driving game that was supposed to be free last year.
With all that dancing, aerobics and bowling I'm not going to have time to sit down!

If a girl or lady is wearing a long skirt while stood up, whould Kinect think she's sat down?0

I think after a long day he just wanted to sit down.

That looks so dated, nerdy, awkward and ugly it has to be real.
Ooof.

My local One-Stop has started selling Reese's Pieces (yummy but sickly) and Nutrageous bars (still in the fridge) for 59p each.
No Peanut Butter Cups, though, boo!

StreetPass - allows users to exchange game information with other Nintendo 3DS systems as owners pass one another, hence the name. According to Nintendo: "Small packets of information can be exchanged using this data-transfer method, such as Mii character data, maps for games or high scores and custom character data for different games."
SpotPass - allows user to sonnet to compatible public hotspots and through a wireless broadband Internet connection at home, even if the system is in Sleep Mode. Once connected, the Nintendo 3DS system will receive new content and updates on a regular basis. Wallace and Gromit creator Aardman has confirmed its support by announcing it will release one-minute shorts of Shaun The Sheep in 3D via SpotPass.

I know all the above info has probably already been posted, but I thought a single post summary would be good for those just getting home from work/those who haven't been able to keep up with how fast the thread has moved today.
Backwards compatibility and region locking
The 3DS will run all DS and DSi games.
The system will be region locked. A 3DS from region A will not play 3DS games from region B, or DSi-enhanced games from region B. It will play standard DS games from any region.1 -
Update!
January
Mario Kart Wii - £34.99 (I know I could have saved a tenner online, but it was an urgent purchase for a family gathering)
Halo 3 ODST - £18.99
2100 Microsoft Space Bucks - £15
Poundland Wii Wheel - I can't remember.
February
Wii Sports - £10 ('Replacement' disc from the horrible CEX, natch)
Total - £79.98
Nothing in March so far but £80, with not much to show for it admittedly, in two and half months just shows how expensive this hobby is at times. Man, I don't even like games that much anymore.

Is it just me or is that a very small size reduction?
I can't see the point if that turns out to be true...
It's less about the size and more about reducing manufacturing costs and giving the 360 a facelift for the natal 'relaunch'. Of course, they would dearly love it to be the same size as the Wii but that isn't going to happen.

Halo 3: ODST

Posted
I also completed this yesterday after putting it down some weeks ago because of some atrocious A.I on one of the levels that basically involved them trying to drive a fucking warthog in circles whilst drunk.
It's excellent. Short, focussed and with little of the bloated, over-blown, trappings of the Halo universe that Bungie can't help but shoehorn in and ruin the end of their games with. After the disappointing end levels of Halo 3 I was burnt-out on the series, but ODST has made me at least interested for Reach again. I'll buy it next year when it's cheap, probably.
