  1. The Sly Cooper games (2 onwards) feature a lot of mechanics that turned up later in Assassins Creed (for better or worse). Pickpocketing, instant kills if you sneak up behind someone, tailing and eavesdropping missions, sneaking around on rooftops (and along cables between them), smoke bombs. All in an open world with lots of collectibles. Sly Cooper 3 even had you sailing a pirate ship.
  2. I've been really enjoying playing '0h h1' recently. It's a puzzle game that's a cross between picross and sudoku. I like how a few simple rules can make a challenging puzzle, and that the boards are randomly generated so they can't run out. I've been playing it on Android where it's free. I believe it's on iOS too. And you can also play it here: http://0hh1.com/

    Drop7

I'm pleased to report that the performance issues are sorted now (for me at least). I'm still playing it regularly (Blitz/Hardcore only)

    Firewatch

I played it today with the patch on PS4 and the framerate was still frequently really bad. It might be better than it was before, but it's still noticeably poor. I didn't get any game breaking bugs, but I did hit an invisible wall at one point that clearly wasn't meant to be there - I had to do a detour around to get to the same place. Oh, and two of my photos were corrupt in the end credits. Is there any way to see them apart from in the credits on PS4?
  5. I just finished watching this after a recommendation in the Making a Murderer thread and it's absolutely amazing. If you haven't watched it yet, you should definitely get hold of it. I literally jumped out of my chair watching the final episode.
  6. 01 - Desaparecidos - Payola 02 - Coheed & Cambria - The Color Before The Sun 03 - The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die - Harmlessness 04 - You, Me, and Everyone We Know - Dogged EP 05 - Jeff Rosenstock - We Cool? 06 - Steven Wilson - Hand Cannot Erase 07 - State Champs - Around The World And Back 08 - The Front Bottoms - Back On Top 09 - Ducktails - St. Catherine 10 - Man Overboard - Heavy Love
  7. It seems that episode 6 can play out quite differently depending on your choices, then. My episode 6:
  8. Doh! I just went to buy Virtue's Last Reward only to discover that I already owned it through PS+. I'm not sure why I didn't download it before - maybe it wasn't compatible with PSTV before and now is? What's going on with Virtue's Last Reward: Complete Collection for the special offer price of £10? "This collection contains Virtue’s Last Reward, plus 12 different avatar images featuring different characters from the game" ... the avatars sell separately for 20p each
  9. State Champs are great and a good fit for a Tony Hawk game. Cloud Nothings are also good, but a bit of an odd choice. Intentionally-muffled lo-fi indie rock. I suppose it gives the soundtrack a bit of variety.
  10. Yeah, don't get too excited about Lara Croft ToO. I played through GoL in co-op with a friend and loved it so we both rushed to get the sequel (with season pass) and didn't get on with it at all. We got to the end because we'd paid for it, but not with much enthusiasm. Compare that with GoL that left us wanting more and replaying bits. It might be better if you never played the original, I suppose. Part of the problem is that it doesn't do much more than that game (less in some respects because the levels and puzzles never get as complicated/interesting)
  11. What's up with the intro music changing slightly each week? I thought I was going mad the first few episodes but it definitely is happening. This week's was quite different.
  12. I've been avoiding replying to this until the end of the series because technically it was a spoiler for all the rest of the episodes
  13. How have we got to page 4 with no-one mentioning Alice: Madness Returns? But the real answer is probably Valkyria Chronicles
  14. Yeah, it's still pretty buggy. I've been playing it this last week on PS4 and I've got completely stuck in scenery twice (had to quit the game), had a cutscene give up half way through (it just stopped and I had to quit the game) and I've fallen through the world.
  15. Having watched to the end of episode 4, I have a question
  16. I've finished this now (and platinumed it) - it look me 30 hours in the end. Ending thoughts (not too specific, but still talking about the ending)
  17. Nope, doesn't work for me even after redownloading. And it definitely installed an update this time.(I've got version 1.01 according to the Manage Content on Memory Card screen)
  18. It was the PSN version I tried. I downloaded it from my download history earlier in the week. I tried clicking the update button as well and that didn't help. Maybe I'll try downloading the whole thing again.
  19. I've updated the list of Vita games that work on the PS TV because: - Some games have been added to the compatible list on the website (OlliOlli2 and The Hungry Horde from the PS+ list) - I've discovered that the list was lying about Jet Set Radio and Sonic Racing Transformed - the PS TV won't let you play them. So I've finally given in and bought myself one (it was inevitable really). My first impressions were very positive. I couldn't believe how small it was and I was impressed with the UI (I've only had Nintendo handhelds before so I was expecting a handheld UI to be slow and clunky, but the Vita's is fine and more like the PS4 than the PS3, which is also good). The game graphics of what I tried out seemed respectable. The 1GB onboard storage is pretty much useless if you want to play games. This wasn't too much of a surprise, but I gave up and bought a memory card faster than I thought I was going to (and they're painfully expensive - I spent £10 more on a 32GB card than I spent on the console). Incidentally, you can't use the onboard storage with a memory card plugged in - so don't think you have 5GB if you buy a 4GB card. It doesn't really make much difference with a 32GB card, but I thought it was a bit cheeky. Finding games to download is a pain - as usual with a PSN Store you get a big list of everything you've bought (PS3, PS4 and Vita) sorted by date bought but with all the PS+ games moved to the same date when you last renewed, in no particular order. And it will quite happily let you download Vita games that won't work on the PS TV, although Sony must know they don't work because they won't let you run them after they're downloaded (you get a prompt). Finding out that Jet Set Radio and Sonic Transformed don't work was a blow - the list of games I own that I can only play on the PS TV is looking pretty slim now. And another thing that I hadn't really thought about but I probably should have realised is that all of the cross-buy games (at least the ones I've looked at) have their multiplayer modes stripped out on the Vita version. It makes sense, but I hadn't thought about it. I had had thoughts about taking the PS TV around friends houses who don't have consoles or on holiday, but it looks like the only multiplayer options I have are Worms or PS1 games. So overall first impressions - I really like the system but the games library is lacking at the moment and probably never going to get better. I'll get my money's worth out of playing the single-player PS+ games and I've also got myself a cheap copy of Persona 4 Golden, which I've never played before. I quite like JRPGs so that might make it worth the investment on it's own for me. It's hard to recommend the system as it is, though - even for £45.
  20. I'm still playing it and enjoying it. It's got some good ideas but it's let down by its implementation and presentation. The game seems very set up for multiple playthroughs but I can't see myself doing that. It's annoying that they've seemingly locked away so much content for the second playthrough - I keep coming across side quests that have a recommended level way higher than what I'm on and what the next main story mission has as its recommended level, but you have to do them before the next story mission or miss them. Meanwhile, there's not a whole lot for me to do in order to level up for the next story mission. It's a good job they've got the 'secret training' feature or the game would be really grindy. So I'd recommend putting a few hours in at the start to get into it, but then spreading out your playthrough over a few weeks so your characters have time to level up when you're not playing. If you do that then it's actually quite short for a Final Fantasy game. I'm half way through chapter 7 after 25 hours (my understanding is there are 8 chapters) and I did a fair bit of grinding at the start before I found out about the secret training option so you can get to the point I'm at in less time than that. The story missions themselves and generally really good, with interesting layouts and ideas.

    Brand New

It's great to get some new stuff by Brand New, but on first listen that sounds more like filler album track than big comeback single to me.
  22. I'm still on the fence about getting one of these, so to help me decide I've gone through updating my post from a few days ago with this months PS+ games, what other consoles the games are cross-buy on and file sizes from the store: (question marks are where the listing is multi-console so this may be the PS3/PS4 download size?) You might also have Need For Speed: Most Wanted 2.5GB free if you grabbed that back when it was free for a weekend. And, if you were a PS+ subscriber back when they were doing PS1 games and Minis you'd have those as well. (And you'd have Worms Revolution Extreme 412MB and OlliOlli 109MB free from buying the console) When I started comparing, I was thinking that the list of free games I could play out of the box would sell me on a Playstation TV, but looking at the list now I'm not rushing out to buy one. I suspect some of those games would actually need a bigger memory card as well?
  23. Ok, I hope I haven't wasted my time doing this, but I couldn't find the a list by Googling. I've gone through the PS+ Europe Vita games comparing them with the list of games that work on Playstation TV. I think if you've been a PS+ subscriber since they started doing PS Vita games, you will have the following non-cross-buy games available to download on a Playstation TV: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend 3.3GB Chronovolt 261MB Coconut Dodge: Revitalised 48MB Dragon's Crown 1.1GB Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PSP game) 1.1GB Jet Set Radio 1.1GB The blog says it works but my PS TV won't let me play it Killzone Mercenary 3.3GB Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes 1.1GB Lego Harry Potter: Years 57 1.1GB Lego The Lord of the Rings 1.8GB Muramasa Rebirth 450MB New Little King's Story 684MB PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD 165MB Puddle (can't find this on the store) Rayman Origins 922MB Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed 1.4GB The blog says it works but my PS TV won't let me play it The Hungry Horde (apparently this now works) The Pinball Arcade 344MB TxK 102MB Velocity Ultra 223MB And the following cross-buy games (but given your a PS+ subscriber, you probably can play them elsewhere already): Doki-Doki Universe (PS3/PS4) 1007MB Fez (PS3/PS4) 614MB Guacamelee! (PS3) 854MB Hotline Miami (PS3/PS4) 790MB? Knytt Underground (PS3) 1.5GB Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut (PS3) 404MB Luftrausers (PS3) 311MB MotorStorm RC (PS3) 1.3GB? OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood (apparently this now works) Pix the Cat (PS4) 503MB? Proteus (PS3) 179MB Rainbow Moon (PS3) 1.4GB Rogue Legacy (PS3/PS4) 740MB? Spelunky (PS3/PS4) 620MB Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark (PS3) 451MB SteamWorld Dig (PS4) 187MB Thomas Was Alone (PS3/PS4) 307MB? Titan Attacks (PS3/PS4) 135MB? Velocity 2X (PS4) 2.2GB? When Vikings Attack! (PS3) 1.2GB Woah Dave! (PS4) 63MB Games that don't work (in case I've missed something): You might also have Need For Speed: Most Wanted 2.5GB free if you grabbed that back when it was free for a weekend.
