  1. The white bits are just chaff from middle of the beans, most is removed after roasting but you always get a little remaining. You can also get more depending on the type of bean.

Play around with the grind settings little by little making sure to use the same amount of coffee and water at as close to the same temperature as possible. There isn't a perfect answer for the right grind because it'll come down to your own taste.

  2. The £90 Wilfa is great for aeropress and v60. I only replaced mine for a Niche Zero grinder when i started making espresso at home. Stupid amount of money to spend on a grinder but I justify it by remembering the crazy amount I was spending in coffee shops before getting to the office each morning.

  3. I got a big order Saturday night from House of Trembling Madness who've started delivering around York and the outlying villages. Craft wise I ordered some Deya, Cloudwater, Burnt Mill, Polly's and Saint Mars beers as well as a few Bavarian lagers.

Might have gone a bit overboard with my order to be honest but I am really missing the pubs which seems weird/sad to say given it's not even been that long yet.

  4. The last bag I had from them they don't have now but it was a lovely natural Burundi. San Fermin is their "house" filter coffee which they always stock and is an absolute bargain with the discount. I very rarely buy washed coffees now as I favor the earthier slightly fermented taste of natural processed coffee. You won't go wrong with anything they sell to be honest.

  5. The Wilfa is a great grinder for any type of filter coffee it's what I used before getting a Niche grinder. As Harry said, consistency of grind is one of the most important factors in good coffee, the Wilfa is a bit more money but well worth it.

If anyone needs to buy some beans Origin are offering 20% off at the moment (their coffee is superb).

  6. Isn't 80°C way too low? I'd have thought at that temperature you'll be ending up with quite acidic under extracted coffee. Most things I've read / watched seem to say you want your water around the 90-93. I imagine it probably varies though depending on the varietal of coffee and the processing method of the beans but i tend to stick to 90 for pourovers and aeropress.

  7. Margin Call + The Big Short + 99 Homes. A triple bill of the 2007 financial crisis from different perspectives with the bonus of all 3 being good movies.

Apocalypto + Mad Max (2015). I've always felt these two owe a great amount to each other in terms of pacing and the frenetic nature of their structure. Gibson borrowed from Miller who did the same for the reboot.

  8. 13 Hours in and got my first normal Victory!

For this run i decided not to focus so much on poison as I had done and instead pretty much picked every Power card I came across. Bird Faced Urn relic coupled with all the power cards I had worked really well getting me through the late game.

At the start of the run i decided to gamble and switch my switching relic for a random boss one which got me the +3 attack on every zero cost attack card. This had a nice synergy with Blade Dance and Infinite Blades.

I really do love this game!

  9. I started this the other night on PS4 as well and apart from some weird controls and the steepish learning curve I'm loving it. I may be missing something obvious but so far there doesn't seem to be much in the way of  F2P nonsense and microtransactions.  The amount of content seems crazy for something that's free, I'm assuming in the end game there must be someway they start making more money.

  10. I sold my copy to CEX for £38 cash about a week after launch. Was in there today and there must have been 20+ copies on the shelves, surprisingly enough they're only offering £15 for it now.

  11. I've got a Baratza Virtuoso myself so can't give a personal recommendation, but I remember James Hoffman of Square Mile Coffee reviewing the Svart

He was pretty impressed with it for the price. Workshop are impressed with them as well https://workshopcoffee.com/blogs/journal/83014913-wilfa-grinder

Seems like a good sign that two established quality roasters are happy with them, pretty sure it'll be quite an upgrade on your old one.

Just a heads up GAME are doing the following offer instore on standard edition version Xbox and PS4.

Hmmmm I might actually do that although it does mean having to step foot in Game. Think I'm done with BF V, it's pretty clear they're only working on the Battle Royale mode which i couldn't care less about.

  13. All of the these tank ones are utterly shit. I think I've only had chance to use a tank properly about 3 times since I got the game.

They could have added a big tank battle mode/map to actually make it fun. As it is it's pure luck and not fun in the slightest.

Also on the PS4 the latest patch seems to have made the menus and unlock notifications even slower and more shit than they already were. Also in game it seems to have broken the camera when you're watching squad mates while waiting to respawn.

It's a shame the patches and content updates have been so poor. At its core there's a really good game here but there's so many issues that need fixing.

  14. I definitely preferred the story and characters of Hearts of Stone over Blood and Wine but let's face it they're both brilliant.

Oh and Hearts of Stone has David Beckh........ uh, I mean Olgierd Von Everec in.
