Do you really want to compare Williams' record with that of Mercedes during the turbo-hybrid era?

I think it’s a reasonable indication of the advantage that Toto inherited at Mercedes rather than creating.

In 2010, a year after Brawn's championship-winning season, Mercedes finished behind Mclaren, Ferrari and Red Bull. In 2011, they again finished 4th in the constructor's championship. In 2012, they finished 3rd. Toto took over in 2013 and I think they did quite well for a few years after that.

So did Williams, with a Mercedes engine once they switched to the turbo hybrids.

Well, I mean, he did oversee the development of one of the most dominant cars and championship runs in the history of the sport.

He was gifted that from Ross Brawn’s departure.

  4. On Sky, when I chose to have it, I never took a deal for less than 50% off, including all channels and HD. I think at the time it came to £40-45. I eventually dropped it when I realised that Now TV was enough and probably saves me about another half.

And of course you don't get any of the live watch any driver type extras you get on Sky. I hate NOW TV but it's my only recourse.

They do have some of the onboards, timing screens etc, but they’re buried in some menu that you can’t find.

Basically not really - the cost cap pretty much prohibits new developments, all the teams can do is iterate on the direction they’re already going in.

RBR played a blinder by spending so much money on sandwiches in 2021. The head start that those sandwiches gave their car will be almost impossible to catch up.

Yeah, that sourdough really caused some sour grapes.

  7. Sky switching to football half way through an overtake on one of their channels is a reminder back to the dark days of ITV and their adverts.
