Because I have a PC and a VR headset... :D Xbox + Gamepass for everything else.

Not spent more than £35 on a PC VR game so far.. Even Half Life : Alyx* was £30 in a sale.

    * Shame Sony kind of dropped the PSVR this gen. Would have been nice to see some more VR content. Might get a PS5 version possibly at some point. GT7 in VR would have been quite something.

I wouldn’t say they’ve dropped it, for its install base it’s got a decent software line up, with recent titles like Star Wars Squadrons and titles like Hitman 3 having support in 2021.

The eventual PS5 VR headset is going to be a big jump in quality, we’ve had hints from their patent applications. Having it back compatible with the existing PSVR catalogue with some patches to boost resolution & frame rate will be really cool.

These threads are always amusing. Last time it was people arguing over which was bettter; Knack or Ryse? Basically whose turd smells slightly less like turd than the other.

As a hip bachelor type I can only make my decision based on the fact that the PS5 is the kind of huge ugly toy monstrosity that can only sit comfortably in a sweaty teenage boy’s bedroom. Thus while an Xbox series S blends discreetly into my pad the PS5 screams virgin wank monster to any visitor I have. I have to think of the image I’m trying to upkeep!

Mate any bird who comes back and see’s you’ve slummed it with the budget spec Xbox is gonna do legs ASAP. In a true bachelor pad the PS5 would blend in with the art and sculptures just fine.

Seems to be a touch it and see. Not much to get excited about until its actually in our hands.

Well most reviews have been very positive about it. I thought it would be mentioned here more that’s all. There is plenty to be excited about, the possibilities are vast.

Anyone else starting to feel like Sony are just quietly dropping VR development and hoping nobody notices? This feels a lot like the way the Vita slowly faded away. People keep waiting for news and nothing happens.

The lack of practical features required for VR on the PS5 seems like a big red flag.

No, more like they are transitioning generations and have PSVR2 to develop for.

Practical features? Things like this Sony patent: https://nl.letsgodigital.org/uploads/2019/10/sony-ps5-vr-headset.pdf show that they are working on something much more advanced than the PSVR. They also have another patent on finger tracking controllers.

I think a bit of patience is called for. There is no need to rush PSVR2 to market, especially with the current situation.

Are Xbox first party devs allowed to make some phenomenal stuff that isn’t possible on PS5 as well, or is it only Sony who are allowed to do it?

No, as they said no exclusives for Series X remember? It’s gotta run on your standard bone.

No doubt there will still be plenty of PS5 games at the show anyway as the third parties all start revealing their wares.

I wonder though, if they’re not going to reveal PS5 at E3 then when/where will they do that? Hopefully before E3.

My guess was that PSVR would be cross-compatible because Sony aren't crazy enough to try to launch a PSVR2 to a small install base, then we'd get a better headset if and when PS5 sold a lot. I wasn't aware there was more capability in the hardware.

They’ve already stated PSVR2 won’t launch with the console and PSVR will be supported.

    So not exclusives then!

That's just one game known to be in development. The entire quote is there to suggest we will be getting next gen only titles on PS5.

I'll be buying both a PS5 & Xbox Series X at launch, I've got an X and Game Pass to 2022. I'm just sharing what I've read.

What exclusive games are coming out in the first year won't also be on PS4?

Following news the other day that Microsoft’s Xbox Series X won’t see exclusives at launch or anytime soon, PS5 gamers won’t need to worry about PS5 exclusives not being a thing — at least based on early reports.

In a new podcast by Kotaku, reliable industry reporter Jason Schreier mentioned that the PS5 will see PS5-only titles at launch (Holiday 2020). Based on what he has “heard,” some titles launching with the PS5 will be console-specific titles, which are being developed by first-party studios.

Note that this isn’t official info, so take it with a grain of salt. That said, Schreier has been very, very reliable when it comes to industry news, hence why we’re reporting it. This might not be that surprising to hear given how almost every PlayStation hardware has launched with console exclusives, but it’s a nice semi-confirmation, no?

Some of the PS5 games we know are in development include Godfall, and there’s a rumor that Knives Out is set to be released on the platform as well.
