  1. Oh dear, I’m running into real issues with 5-2. Despite the game running perfectly up to this point, it’s crashing for me every single time I try to make my way through 5-2. I’ve restarted my PS5 and it’s still happening. Interestingly the Swamp of Sorrow activity card in my PS5 also is bugged out after a crash. It just shows ‘Can’t load. Something went wrong’. I feel like this is the game getting revenge on me for hiding and poisoning too many bosses.
  2. It was the levels themselves, but I finally got through 4-2 yesterday. The key was using soul remains to distract enemies I couldn't run past - I only killed the first two skeletons you come across in that first outdoor section in the whole thing. I was so afraid of messing up on the boss and having to do the run again I ended up very slowly creeping around and repeatedly poisoning him. The sweetest, most cowardly victory.
  3. Question for those who quit this (on PS5 or PS3) before completing it - what was the point where you threw in the towel? I've only got 4-2 and 5-2 left and I'm struggling. Especially with 4-2, even to the point where I turned it off in disgust and immediately looked up how much Cex were offering for it. I think it's because I'm playing a magic-based character with a magic weapon and basically everything seems to be resistant to it there. Spent an hour trying to run through the whole thing without fighting anything and came frustratingly close a bunch of times. It's okay though, I've calmed down, slept on it, ready to go again tonight.
  4. I have the exact system for RT High (Ryzen 5 3600, 3070, 16GB RAM) and want to play this on my TV. Do you reckon I'll get prettier results on 1440p scaled by my 4K TV or dropping the quality/RT settings down and going for a DLSS 4K?
  5. How soon into this is the whole map available to you to drive around freely? I’ve got no interest in playing the campaign, but I’m tempted to get a month of Ubisoft Plus to do the virtual tourism thing and to see what my PC can do with DLSS and ray tracing on.
  6. I'm really enjoying this, which is a surprise as I deliberately bought it on disc intending to walk around for a couple of hours, enjoy the shiny graphics and then sell it on. I never got on with Dark Souls 1 or Bloodborne, but this has really grabbed me in a way I didn't expect. I just did the whole of 3-1 without dying and feel like an absolute hero. Since I got a health regenerating shield I'm feeling a lot sturdier and more willing to push on through levels where I'd be tempted to quit back to the Nexus before. That's 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 3-1 and 4-1 all done. It's pretty much inevitable that this run continues and I steamroller my way through the rest of the bosses in no time, right? Right?!...
  7. I’d definitely recommend it. With the ranged magic and the MP regenerating ring the first couple of areas have been very manageable. My plan is to try again with a different class once I know what I’m doing so don’t feel too bad about taking the easy option now.
  8. Another first timer here, I’m really enjoying it. I can’t imagine how hard this must be for people playing it for without Googling anything. I definitely agree with the frustrations around running back to the boss after each death. Going through that exploding barrel room on the way to the boss in 2-1 for the 10th time was not fun at all. After taking things nice and slow in 1-1 and 2-1, those aggressive rolling enemies at the start of 4-1 are a bit of a shock. Still though, managed to grab that fancy magic sword and get out of there and immediately feel loads more powerful. Up next: farm some healing items since I used almost my entire stash on killing the 2-1 boss and then go soul arrow the hell out of everything in 3-1.
  9. In case anyone else runs into this - the saves were there on the cloud, it's just that PSN couldn't identify which game they were from. They appear at the bottom of the list with a generic grey Playstation logo. Once I manually downloaded them, the game was able to read them with no issues. Phew.
  10. Moved my PC to the front room, installed the 3070 and have it set up for high res, 120hz goodness. If I was going to buy one game that’ll really show this off, what would that be? Something I could DLSS up to 4K would be ideal as I’m coming from a 1660 Super.
  11. My god. The crunching open of the gacha machine balls in Astro’s Playroom just feels so right on these triggers.
  12. Very specific use case here, I appreciate, but has anyone else started this on PS4 and is now having trouble moving their save over to a PS5? For some reason this is the only game that doesn't show up in my list of PS4 cloud saves on the PS5, despite it showing correctly on the PS4. I know that PS4 saves won't carry over to the fancy PS5 version in March but I was counting on my existing save working with the PS4 version of the game in backward compatible mode on the PS5...
  13. Fair play to Currys PC World with this whole thing. Lovely civilised queue system to order, delivered with DPD by 8:05.
  14. I managed to grab one of the Scan 3070 FEs! I had given up on the Telegram group and muted it as it seemed to be endless German sites selling versions that were too big for my case but I happened to look into the group just as they showed up in stock. Can't wait to get up to some 1440p 144hz Ultra quality mischief.
  15. It’s true, I swear. DPD app even updated itself!
  16. Currys cru, check your emails. Just got my shipping confirmation and DPD tracking number.
  17. Anyone else here with a Currys PC World pre-order? I haven’t heard from them since making payment and getting the ‘Order Acknowledged’ and ‘We are processing your order’ emails back in October. I’m praying that I’m getting one on launch day but I’ve got no idea if that’s going to happen.
  18. Since we're already deep in pre-order chat: Has anyone with a Curry's PC World heard anything since payment on Oct 22nd? I got the 'Order Acknowledgement' and 'We are processing your order' emails right away but nothing since. I still don't know if I'm getting a launch one or I've got a pre-order for some other batch further down the line.
  19. One more get-a-blog post now I've finished it. This is, without a doubt, one of the best games I have ever played. It never stopped wowing me. In terms of design, mechanics, looks, sounds and atmosphere it just gets better and better. I loved the abandoned zoo of chapter 8 and the unsettling weirdness of the final chapter. I can't wait to do it all again on Ultra settings once I swap my 1600 Super for one of those fancy new 3070s.
  20. I finally had a chance to get back to this after a busy couple of weeks, and also using the fact that I was near the end of chapter 6 and knew that Jeff was coming next as an excuse to play other things. Jeff:
  21. I really struggled with this until I started locking my targeting to the tank, then using up and down on the d-pad to cycle through the other members (without pressing X to change your target lock on to them) for occasional healing when they needed it. Once all of my heals were going to the tank by default, everything became a lot more manageable. It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure you can also then use left and right on the d-pad to target enemies for offensive spells too.
