  1. He is indeed, and he has a band called The Utopia Strong with Kavus Torabi, the frontman of the current incarnation of Gong... Steve's a top bloke, had the pleasure of hanging out talking synths with him a couple of times. He's a great DJ too.. :-)
  2. Time lapse version of a 1.5 hour Teendy build...
  3. Yeah I think so. Should make for an interesting project to do something with them.. Saying that, I'm still sitting on the parts to build a T-Synth, which is a Teeny based thing.. I have all the parts, went for the black front panel version, just need to get stuck in and build it!
  4. Also from Futur3soundz, uses the same hardware, is the XVA1... https://www.futur3soundz.com/xva1-synthesizer 32 voices, with effects for under £100. Yes please!
  5. On the topic of FM, I'm tempted to build myself one of these. https://www.futur3soundz.com It's a super simple build. Cost of parts around £100 tops, and it sounds fantastic. Someone's made a great looking CTRLR panel/editor for it too. Super tempted to build one as for that kind of money it's a no-brainer, great sounding synth and only the size of a matchbox.
  6. This afternoon's round of synth tetris. I think I'm pretty much getting there now..
  7. Not done an update on here in a long time: This was the state of play recently during yet another round of studio tetris.. A few bits not in that pic as they're out on loan with a mate, including the little Behringer Crave and the Modal CraftSynth. Still waiting on the arrival of the Pipes too (long overdue Kickstarter, sample player thing). I have a bunch of random midi controllers elsewhere not in the pic too.
  8. Ha ha, I'm totally with you on the 'black panels only'. If they don't do a black version it's not in my rack.
  9. Yep, Raspberry Pi 3 Compute Module in there... Nick Batt took the lid off and posted a video on FB..
  10. How are you enjoying the XD then? The module is next on my list..
  11. Wavestate sounds great. I've long been a fan of the Wavestation sound and still have an SR in my rack. Mad to think that the WaveState is all running on a Raspberry Pi 3 though, eh?
  12. Well worth it in my opinion. Very happy with mine. Top tip though, definitely get the 12. You'll want to use unison to get the best out of it and so you're often going to be halving your available voices.
  13. Cheers. it's always a work in progress. Wasn't happy with the above setup as I really wanted the Prophecy front & centre, so I took advantage of a monitor upgrade in my office to stick the old one in the studio and have a shift round at the same time, here's where it's at this evening...
  14. I think it's a great little synth for the money, and whilst I agree it's a bit help to use the app, I frequently use mine in a little minimal 'sofa' setup with my Digitakt. I've got a few core presets loaded up in bank 1 that are bread & butter sounds I use when jamming with the Digis..
  15. Yeah, I’m really lucky as it was my dad’s old home office, which is outside the main house in a small extension, which means even if I’m out there late at night I’m not disturbing anybody in the house.
  16. Current incarnation of my music room... Couple of new additions since that pic, including Behringer K-2 and a Volca Nu-Bass, and currently winging their way from Thomann are the Behringer Pro-1 and Crave as well.. It's always a work in progress and things change around depending on what I'm noodling with at the time. in the near future I'm hoping to add the Korg Minilogue XD module, and lusting after the Hydrasynth, though don't have the spare cash for that right now and I'm strict with myself, no credit for toys, so I'll have to wait until I've saved a few pennies before buying anything else..
  17. Not free, but considerable more affordable and no subscription to worry about, it's well worth looking at Affinity Photo / Designer https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/
  18. Imagine, if like me you'd backed it at a higher level which entitles you to not one, but TWO copies of the game! I feel doubly special!

  20. Ooh, check me out with lots of pointy things. I feel all warm and fuzzy now, a bit like my cat.
  21. Great pic but please don't feed chocolate to cats! It's actually quite toxic to them, admittedly less so in cats than in dogs but nevertheless it's really not good for them. http://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/digestive/c_ct_chocolate_toxicity
  22. Fair shout. I'll crawl back into my corner and shut up again then... ;-)
