  1. You've hit the nail on the head there buddy. I have a load of games I've boought and barely touched simply because I'm worried they'll be sold out when I want them. Disgaea is a great example, a game I simply bought because I could see it becoming impossible to get hold of later on yet I've played it for 5 mins. I think I ahve about 30 games at the moment I've barely played. It's shit really, and I only do it because otherwise it'll be a bitch to get them when I have time for them.
  2. I think it's moderately work safe.
  3. One is the playing field and the other selects weapons I suppose.
  4. I went from the most loved person in the office who people flocked to in order to play Shemnue 3, to the most hated guy around. Someone actually said "I truly, truly hate you" in the sincere way only a game geek can. I hope the news of this is true though, I'd like to play the Shenmues in order (I own 1 & 2 but haven't got round to playing them properly).
  5. It looks very good. Very nice graphics.
  6. I sent that picture round the office with the subject: "Look what I've found in my latest batch of submission materials*". The body said "I'm downloading the code now :-)" Sure enough people started spazzing out and running over to my desk. Classic. The look of dissapointment on their faces when I told them I was lying. *These are documents that developers/publishers need to send me, and they include copies of the artwork and instruction books etc.

I started a thread the other day too. I'm still playing it but they haven't included support for 1280x1024 resolution, which is the native resolution of my monitor, and hence the graphics annoy me. I may install it on my laptop instead. The problem I'm finding is that I don't understand why I can blow up French ships and then get promoted by the country. I also don't know how to sack ports. It's pretty cool though, I like it.
  9. See, those two games and Lumines are the only reason to own a PSP anyway. It's all good.
  10. With regards to filtering, you'll be able to specify which sort of people you want to play with, like optimatch but for people. The feedback system is also better.
  11. If you head over to Somethingawful.com you'll find they've actually made that very poster.
  12. Actually, I'd be quite impressed if it said that. Seriously though, you know when you start a game and you get unskipable splash screens with the developer'sname? Imagine that, but in game. On load screens, scene transitions, when saving... It would be shit. Far fetched? Check out TV at the moment and see how intrusive ads can be, like the way the volume goes up when they come on.
  13. Shut up n00b, nobody cares about you when the xbox 360 is being released in November. With its low, low prices and its high quality you'd have to be a fool not to pre-order one. You'll never get a girlfriend, and you'll die alone.
  14. Hmm, for £17.99 I thought I'd give them a go, but I'm now expecting to have to wait about 2 weeks to receive it from them.
  15. Wait, seriously, we're in a pointless thread.
  16. PCs are for loosers, they're just overpriced 360s in a shit beige box.
  17. Sometimes games have bugs because they need to be ready to ship by a certain date and there isn't enough time to fix stuff. If it has a crippiling bug it won't be released. It's a remedy to the shit situation of games being released with known issues.
  18. Actually, they're not a bad thing, because it enables a developer to fix things which they couldn't before release. All Xbox games still need to pass certification, which means you don't get a game which just doesn't work, like on a PC.
  19. In practice, I think what I said applies more.
  20. Yeah I saw this when it came out and remeber liking it a lot. The Rza/Gza/Bill Murray bit was brilliant.
  21. You were obviously too ahead of your time Are you thinking of developing for the DS? I'm assuming you had a few ideas swimming around if you were trying to develop for a touch screen medium.
  22. It's not detachable so you can remove it, it's detachable so you can add it should you buy the core unit and then want to upgrade or if you store lots of media and want an extra one.
