    Put Here

Dino cake I made for my nephews, bit of a rubbish photo and it has plenty of flaws but trying to see what people actually think of the stuff I make and thought here might be a good place to start :S
  3. I am slightly addicted to roasted pumpkin seeds - they really are yum, good with a little chilli powder or paprika added too.
  4. I've used these recipes a few times for pumpkin pie http://www.food.com/recipe/opals-pumpkin-pie-102073 http://www.food.com/recipe/thanksgiving-pumpkin-pie-uses-fresh-pumpkin-105977 both were good, and the website is quite useful as you can sort by rating
  5. I just started watching this recently, almost finished season 2 and absolutely love it! In some ways I'm glad I didn't find out about it until now, because it means I get to binge on 4 seasons, but a bit sad that I've only discovered it as it's coming to a close!
  6. I've been trying to sign up to steam for ages, and it won't let me If I try to sign in through the app, no matter what username I try, it goes back to the first one I pick and says unavailable. I've quit the app and tried again with lots of different names, but even when I hit the keys at random, it says unavailable. When I try to sign up online it tells me my attempt failed, and I can't sign in through my ps3 account because I'm not cool enough to have Portal 2 Any ideas why it's not working, or have they somehow realised that I should probably be kept away from Team Fortress 2?

    Uncharted

So I took a rather long break from gaming...well, from my ps3, ds love took over. But I am back to Uncharted, and I am going to finish it, and I am going to get Uncharted 2, and count down the days until Uncharted 3 can be mine. I have heard that some people like to play the games over again on a harder level...I think simply finishing it will be enough for me. I spent ages on one part of it - and I mean ages. I thought I was done with the horrible creatures then, but no. Now I'm getting my ass kicked by the living and the dead. Wonderful.
  8. Ah!! I just found this - thank you I love Earthworm Jim, and hardly anyone I know remembers him! Grooovvy

    Uncharted

Aww, and to think I was scared real gamers would be mean to me! I seem to continually discover new ways to be an idiot. For example, yesterday I was blown up by a grenade. It was my grenade. In the heat of the moment, I pressed fire too soon...dammit. But hey, at least I now realise you actually need to press fire. Initially, I would just aim, and then shake the controller violently - "WHY ISN'T IT THROWING??!" *shakes controller harder*...and to add insult to injury - the stupid tips kept on showing the little 'move the controller' icon...apparently they anticipated people not getting that bit, but assumed pressing fire would still come naturally. Yes, well, I defy your expectations game developers. Pah. I just avoided using grenades until I asked a real gamer what to do. :$

*sighs* SMD refuses to explain why there is a star beside my post, and what the numbers in the bottom right hand corner mean - he's too busy laughing at me, and insists this is a forum question. Please can someone pity me a tad, and explain?

I thought you would have found Portal more amusing. "Oh look, there's a wall" *walks into it repeatedly* In my defence, I don't think...oh sod it, there is no defence, I'm just rubbish.

    Uncharted

Still playing Uncharted, still think it is amazing, still an unbelievably woeful gamer....actually, I really don't think someone like me qualifies for the term 'gamer'. I don't think gamers do things like move themselves when they can't see what's around the corner in the game...I have done this more than once - as well as squinting, as though that will actually help me to see what lies in the distance. *shakes head* I refer to weapons and treasure as 'glinties'. I walk into a new area and think "any glinties? ooh glinty!" I eventually realised that not everything that looks like a glinty, is actually a glinty. Sometimes, when you are dandering through the jungle, the glinty is actually just the light shining through the trees, and if you go over to investigate it, you will get shot by a dastardly pirate. And speaking of pirates! Couldn't they have made just one sympathetic pirate? I mean, I jumped out of a burning plane into a jungle full of hostile thugs, I find the wreckage of my plane, I've barely recovered the map before they're shooting at me again - couldn't they have made just one little scene with a pirate who thinks "give the guy a break"? Then again, I really do like being able to go "boom, head shot". The scenery has become a source of annoyance - why would they make scenery that looks climable when really it isn't?! I stand there thinking "ooh a vine!" And it's not a real, climbable vine - it's just scenery - and in the time that I spent trying climb it, I have come under attack. Again. I also realised it is possible to get stuck in the scenery. I got stuck in a pile of rocks. I saw a glinty, jumped in (it was a real glinty - treasure, woohoo!) and then came under attack, and as I tried to jump out, I got stuck. Seriously. Drake was hopping on the spot like crazy, and the controller wouldn't stop shaking. I tried jumping, that did not work. My next thought was not "circle and try to get out of it", no, my next thought was "shoot the rocks!". The game will not actually let you shoot the rocks when you become stuck, and can't stop hopping. I paused the game and demanded a proper gamer tell me what to do. It amazes me that people can finish games in a weekend - I die far too often to achieve such things....

    Uncharted

I only got into gaming recently, and when I say I only got into it recently, what I really mean is gaming is a whole new world to me. A friend started to insist that I should give it a try, and suggested games I would probably like. I declined. I did not need to game, I did not want to game. But their continual insistence must have broken my subconscious because I found myself ordering a wii at 1am - 'ooh, it's red! I like red'. And the wii was swiftly followed by the ps3. I really only started to enjoy playing the ps3 recently, my first attempt at gaming on it was fifa 11. I'm a new level of awful. My idea of success in fifa is not measured in goals - I do not aspire to so much. Success is keeping the ball at the right end of the pitch. When I hit the post, I almost dropped the controller while exclaiming "It shakes! No one told me it shakes!!" Anyway, uncharted! Uncharted was one of the games recommended to me, and since I can now play without constantly looking at the controller to see where the buttons are (genuine achievement right there folks), I got myself a copy and hasted home to play it. First thought was 'ooh music, I like this music', followed by a consideration of the difficulty level. Easy, normal, difficult....a level beyond difficult?! Who can complete such a level - who are these gods of gaming?? My idea of opting for a challenge was selecting normal rather than easy. Once I actually started playing I was just excited to realise that I'm starting to have a vague idea of what to do - oh look, barrels filled with gunpowder...yes, shooting them does seem like a plan. Oh...shooting them while standing that close was silly...ahem. Like I said, I'm a complete newbie and utterly clueless, but so far I like uncharted (or is that why I like it?). Even if I did manage to forget that collecting treasure is part of the game until I accidentally stumbled across a piece. Suddenly all the random glints I had dashed passed made sense - sigh. I become highly indignant when shot at, comments heard by anyone wandering around my home this evening included "SULLY - NO!!!!" and "I just jumped out of a burning plane - STOP SHOOTING AT ME!" My current concern is that I've lost the girl who fancies me...Drake...you know what I mean. And I lack ammunition to shoot people in the head. But I think Uncharted might be the first ps3 game I will actually complete, so yay for that!
  16. Reading 'The American Claimant' by Twain, didn't have a clue what it was about, but love Twain and it was a nice looking edition - because sometimes I do judge a book by the cover. About to start 'The Light Fantastic', only a month ago I'd never heard of the discworld, and now I want to read the lot!
  17. Pretty much anything by Wodehouse, but especially the Jeeves and Wooster books, and the long dark tea-time of the soul - Douglas Adams
  18. ....I feel like I've walked in on a domestic.
