    Mass Effect 3

The MP alone was one of my most played games last year, is great fun. Tbh you get so many credits you really don't need to buy any boxes for money. A full team of Biotic users is just amazing fun, the Biotic explosions just become a soundtrack to the game then. Or a full team of 4 Vanguards take the fight right to the enemy. How about a team of 4 Volus, seems daft and it's not easy but is very satisfying. Then my personal favourite, full Krogan team, where every wave ends with a Krogan mosh pit surrounding the last enemy headbutting them to death. That's made me want to play it again now, gonna go and do a few games

Just noticed that the this weekends Mass Effect MP event is called "Operation: Tribute" and requires you to kill many things with the Avenger and Inferno grenades and will unlock a special "Tribute" banner along with the usual rewards. I shall be doing me some of that this weekend and if at all possible will make sure each game ends with the earning of the "Sole Survivor" medal, is only fitting I think.

The single player dlc sounds interesting but tbh it's all about the MP for me, Krogan, with Thunder/Gravity Hammers (Biotic Hammers, w/e!)? Yes Please! If they make the biotic explosion noise everytime you hit someone I shall spend many more evenings with a big grin on my face running around as a Krogan. Will have to do some extra MP this weekend while doing the weekend challenge to stack up some credits ready
  4. But I still stand by the fact the bird is Y shaped on purpose and the Deer thing isn't X shaped... but meh
  5. See, both those pokemon look like they have been designed to be the "Y" one to me, which one is "X"? The left one? as it is blue like the logo? Or is it not the silhouette thing they were going for?
  6. Aye the traffic can be annoying, I have all the porsche upgrades, my problem is that F***ing tree just over the bridge with jump in the middle that I think I have to hit to get the boost from the air time but if I hit it 9/10 times I hit that fecking tree the other side! *grumble* Will have some more goes tonight, can't progress with the game until I get under that 1:00 time dammit!
  7. I was tempted to throw my name in the hat so to speak for the Autolog funs and things but... under a minute on that first event "keys to the city" or whatever it is called? pfff I can manage about 1:02 I think I may have lost the edge of my awesome (ish) reaction times from my old burnout days and also gained the urge to drive straight at any pair of lights I see.
  8. Hold down LB/L1 to open the assassin menu then While holding that down hit X/Square. It says this in small letters in the bottom left corner of the assassin menu and never tells you that I can remember.
  9. Was that the chase right near the end where you are meant to stay within 50 yards and not shove anyone, then not take fire damage? That made me want to hurt the developers. The post credits bit is quite fun, but it doesn't tell you what you are doing at all. Post credit not really spoiler at all!
  10. I've finished it and... Hmm One thing I can say is I'd have enjoyed it a heck of a lot more if the Bullshit secondary objectives didn't exist or weren't so annoying. I know you can ignore them but they are there on my screen and dear god some of them pissed me off. Story wise... I enjoyed it but at the same time I want to read some opinions of people on here about the ending when they get there. It needs another 3-6 months work, all the little bugs and niggles people have talked about just... shouldn't be there. There was a later on homestead mission where I swear there is a cutscene missing, waiting to see if anyone else thinks it and posts something about that one. All in all, ignore the damn sub objectives, where possible play the game you want to play and you will enjoy it a lot more.
  11. And the water wading as well. Yeah, the codex for a certain Indian character seems to update itself a step ahead of the story, which is annoying, Don't read any of those ones until... Sequence 6, then you are ok.
  12. I only just noticed that you (and the npcs) leave individual accurate footprints as you walk across muddy ground... It really is the little things sometimes
  13. Right, been playing this alot since friday and loving it BUT, couple of minor story flow issues that have come up that other people may want to avoid, will put this in spoilers but will not mention plot at all, merely some of the gameplay mechanics and what to do to avoid them so not really giving anything away but just in case.

All in all...could have been a lot worse. Time to go back to the first game for my space-bitch playthrough now. And to do some multiplayer when I get the internet back next month. It's not just "Content after point X" that is missed out from the pre-extended ending... I'd say it's almost worth experiencing the original ending to see how bad it is Also, Damn them for making the MP so fun, still playing it! They seem to be drip-feed unlocking the whole load of new classes they added 1 a week at the moment, It's like freaking pokemon, gotta unlock-em-all!

I have now played as a Volus... Oh gods. After I recovered from how amusing their character create screen is and got into the game, Volus are too small/fat to take cover against walls and too short to see over them. This causes issues, they also have no melee attack. They can "Light attack" and cloak, so they can run away or "Heavy attack" to curl up into a ball and hope the enemy go away. Their medic style shield heal is *awesome* though, I spent most of a game standing behind an N7 Destroyer who had a Typhoon just keeping him alive while he marched forward spewing death. Then we found ourselves against the collectors... They have been set up blatantly to be a harder enemy than the others, although with the new Geth bombers and Cerberus Dragoons the others all feel more even with the reapers rather than much easier. back to the collectors, they have various enemy types, all of which can be "possessed" by I guess harbinger to become nastier. By far the worst of these is the suicide bomber "Abomination" husks, a possessed one of these running at you turns the game into the Helms deep scene from LotR:TT with everyone madly throwing everything they have at it, and often failing, resulting in bodies of comrades being flung in all directions. All in all great fun! Also the menu tweaks, like gun rarity colours showing up, when you reset a class the name and things stay now and you get to pick where that first point at lvl 1 is spent, the ammo/armour mods (mostly) tell you what they actually do etc are all most welcome. So yeah, jump back in, being a Vanguard has never been so much fun!
  16. If you got as far as the rats... Oh well there is always next time, it's all learning

Home, last 2 hours at work did drag a bit. Downloading it now, saved credits from last weekends event playing to spend tonight. The Multiplayer for this is probably my most played game this year, just good simple fun. Anyone who still plays this MP or wants to play it feel free to give me a shout on Xbox Live, name as per forum name.

Volus get Vanguard and Adept... I want to be at home now!
  19. That one you may want to do, It might carry on but I'm not 100% sure, as that is a "specific" monster rather than just "Kill X number of wandering random monsters of type Y"
  20. Kill X amount of whatever style quests never seem to run out/cancel so don't worry about them
  21. last night. I'd only seen a dead one before. Is this usual just before the end game (I'm a couple of missions away now I believe). Knowing where you are, I am awaiting the post after your next play session
  22. Er...it'll use stuff from your stash to upgrade weapons and what not, so you don't have to do that
  23. Less competition so it stands out as a better post I am finding it much improved though in alot of areas, though I do keep making mistakes of researching the wrong thing etc as I don't seem things have moved on the tech tree and such. Oh and I bought a missionary in one of my cities that had converted to another religion to try and convert it back but that was actually then a missionary for *that* religion . Also with a great prophet, you can't convert like 2/4 or 3/4 times and then use him to become a tile improvment/enhance religion, as soon as you do one convert you can't do the other two. You want a clusterfuck, try a huge game on the "terra" map type with max Civs (22) and Max city states (41...you can have 42 on MP, I don't understand?) it is crazy as on Terra style map it's like earth but all Civs start in Europe! My only real niggle so far is that it's still only 12 Civs in a MP game inc CPU opponents, Are there any mods that increase it that anyone knows of? You should jump in on MP with us sometime Frosty!
  24. That was one of the things I sent him back with! Though he may have randomly found one somewhere on your travels, think I found one down South-west way somewhere. It has lots of magic damage as well as plain str/melee damage because as you may notice if you equip it on him it's a flaming sword for magical fire damage with each hit and useful for setting people on fire if you coat them with oil first etc.
