If I was told that a game would be "great" for 30 hours, I'd probably take it, even if it did get shit after that point. 30 hours is a considerable length of time to play a single game, and paying £30 for 30 hours of "great" entertainment, regardless of what happens to the quality of the game after that point, sounds pretty reasonable. £1 per hour of entertainment compares favourably with other forms of leisure. I'd much rather play a game that was great for the first 30 hours and goes downhill afterwards, than a game you have to play for 30 hours before the good bits start, that's for sure.
  2. I really like the new My Chemical Romance album that came out on Monday - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Although not identical in style to Coheed & Cambria, it does fit into the hardcore/pop-punk genre, bordering on prog at some points, but most importantly, has some great tunes that I already have stuck in my head despite only getting it yesterday. In a similar fashion to Coheed & Cambria's work, it's a concept album that tells a story through the course of the songs. If you're interested, check out www.mychemicalromance.com to listen to 3 tracks from it on their radio player thing
  3. It's repeated at 00:40 tonight (well, Sunday morning) on ITV2.
  4. This may be of interest to you, a lot of Funeral for a Friend's set at Leeds was played on Tuesday night's Radio One Rock Show - available to listen to here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio1_aod.shtml?r1rockshow Skip to around 53 minutes in for Funeral for a Friend. It certainly sounds a good performance. The show also features Lostprophets after the Funeral for a Friend set.
  5. Despite being a big fan of Fire Prowrestling D, I still have a soft spot for Fire Pro G on the PSX, primarily for a brilliant career mode, where you build up your own character, with your path changing depending on how you answered interview questions (a translation faq from Gamefaqs is essential), whether you won or lost matches, and, brilliantly, the style with which you wrestled your matches - lots of 'illegal' moves such as the eye-rake etc. would tend to get you a move to the WWF (well, the copyright-avoiding replica of the fed at least) for instance. They removed this feature with a mor
  6. None of the PS2 versions are in English. There was a couple of Fire Pro games for the Gameboy Advance released in the UK, which will obviously be in English. Other than that, try Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium on the SNES, which you can download a translation patch for to get it all in English.
  7. If anyone is interested in buying the game after reading this thread, the Game of the Year Edition on Xbox is currently half-price (£14.97) at Amazon at the mo http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...2076758-5154252
