  1. Oh Yeah and I really reccomend at DX9 compatible card because the 'heat haze' effect is pretty cool and helps to make some scenes look really amazing.
  2. I'm running it on medium @ 640x480 (Ouch but not that painful as I'm primarily a console gamer) on a Athlon 64 3000+, 512mb RAM & and a Radeon Mobility 9600 with 64mb(Ouch) but I've not tried to tweak anything yet. I reckon the 64megs on the graphics card is the main problem so a 128meg card at least is a good bet for a decent performance boost.
  3. Yeah you'll be fine on medium I reckon so no worries!
  4. The Vsync prevents the game from drawing frames faster than your monitor is displaying. If for example your display is at 60hz then there is little point rendering at 400fps unless for benchmarking purposes, this can also cause quality problems as at 60hz the monitor will be skipping some frames and you can see a 'tearing' effect. So your best switching it on for quality (personally the 'tearing' effect really annoys me too) and Doom3's capped at 60fps anyway I believe.
  5. Yeah really cool idea, gives us something to talk about as well as helping the smaller indie devs get some exposure and recognition. Almost Rllmuk giving back to the industry.
  6. Yeah I feel the atmosphere helps to form part of the gameplay and as I said previously the atmosphere is great, at points I was genuinly sucked into the experience and dare I say it, felt like I was there. Gameplay is in the traditional fps mould but combat seems more personal & up close than most other games in the genre.
  7. Played for a couple of hours last night, the atmosphere is truly amazing. Id have nicked quite a bit from Half-Life (feels very similar during the start sequence) and there was also hints of Starship Troopers during lots of the 'in-game' videos that play on various monitors. Graphics are lovely but they are too dark, reminds me of a couple of screenshots of Primal on UncleClive (the developer's view and the gamer's view). Couple of "wow" moments like when I saw the first demon it honestly looked prerendered, also during the intro sequence when the camera pans back from a computer monitor and you realise things are being rendered in real time. Looking forward to getting to Hell (...) when you're apparently in much better lit landscapes and even outdoors occasionally, I think this is the portion of Doom Id have kept pretty much underwraps.
  8. Yeah couldn't of put it better myself.
  9. Definitely Prince Of Persia, it's a truly wondeful game. Full Spectrum Warrior was the most origional title I've played in a long time though.
  10. I have a ahem 'preview' version but I've still got the proper version on preorder so it's not all bad...
  11. I thought Id worked so the minimum system requirements do mean the game is perfectly playable on a slower system unlike the utter bullshit you see on the back of most PC game boxes?
  12. Try defragging the harddisk the game is installed on.
  13. Hopefully it's simple and to the point: "Fuck Off"
  14. How Soul Calibur should be played (You'll have to click the link on the page) Is that a Delorean I see speeding towards me?
  15. That could be why it's complaining about the lack of a constructor then! Cheers Graham looks like you might of hit the nail on the head there
  16. Hi Guys, sorry for not replying sooner, soon after I posted the question yesterday I couldn't get back onto rllmuk for some reason. rev-happy performance I tried your 'cowboy' fix but get the following error: fatal error C1014: too many include files : depth = 1024 Graham_S I actually do both. Ed-Epistaxis in your code polygon doesnt, actually need to know what a mesh is if you include the opposing headers in each cpp file the compiler starts whining. Cheers for the help, I'm going to try a slight redesign just now and if there's still no joy i'll post the complete files up here. Thanks again for the help!
  17. I have two classes CNode & CEdge and each class needs to know about the other one. I thought you could prototype/forward define the opposing class, i.e.: Node header file: Edge header file: However the compiler whines that CEdge has no constructors (which it does) when I attempt to create an edge, apparently ignoring CEdges full definition. Any help greatlly appreciated!
  18. Nice to see the parents taking some responsibility there...
  19. I watched a great Hong Kong film on Sky when I was visiting my parents a couple of months ago that I'd like to get hold of on DVD, trouble is I've forgotton it's damn title! It was about two hitmen/assasins working in Asia, one was "the best killer" and the other newer hitman wanted that title. The first hitman used to pick up Snoopy figures from each country he visited while the second normally wore a large caracature mask. They both fancied the wench that cleaned the first assasins flat. Can anybody give me the name?
  20. I think it looks pretty good and I'm looking forward to it's launch.
  21. I work in C++ using both DirectX & OpenGL. Currently using a freeware engine, Irrlicht, for a project at work. Also slowly working on a fairly ambitious (read probably impossible ) game in my own time using GL.
  22. I've actually wanted to get this for a while as the game does look pretty good fun.
