  1. A janky and wonderful series and I loved it all. Great finale, for every reason mentioned. I don't want a second series, just leave that as it is.
  2. Meh, some people might have viewed it as spam but it was fun and I enjoyed seeing your live tweeting. Twas something different! Don't let any boring negativity phase you!
  3. Dad sat me down to watch Silent Running. I’ve still not wiped away the tears some 35years later.
  4. I just said something stupid but then thought 'hmm' to the missus. Bit spolier-y after EP-V.
  5. Perhaps (*certainly) I'm cherrypicking/making sweeping generalisations of themes or backdrops here, but one thing struck me so far. Spoilered just in case. Meh, just a thought. It seems (to me) the writers are making careful nods to the style and themes of the prequels (where 'this' Obi Wan lived) and balancing with the original films canon. It's a tightrope.
  6. Late to this, but by jove is it an enjoyable romp! No expectations, but just really good so far. Perhaps I'm numb to cynicism regarding Star Wars over the past few years, it's just pretty good fun.
  7. This is a really sad one to delve into. A man's deteriorating wellbeing being 'managed' to ensure he still does the film and all the skimmer's/agents get their pay cheque. What a career this guy had in his heyday though, one of the true legends.
  8. I don’t think I can take the demise of Will Smith and 8-but guy in one week. 8-bit guy just seemed so innocent I love his videos. This is a shock and tragic!
  9. And done. Fantastic from start to finish. No padding and one of the best book to screen conversions I’ve seen. Cannot wait for more!
  10. I’ve read a lot of the books out of order but read The Killing Floor last September. This really matches exactly what was in my head while reading. Absolutely brilliant so far and glad to hear it’s getting good reviews!
  11. About 20mins into the first episode and this feels very much like what I envisioned whilst reading the books. Finally a Reacher of the right proportions. Very early days but so far so good.
  12. S4 done in two sittings. Bit slow at the start but got there and then some. Brilliant finale. Silver, you evil genius. Pure 80’s menace.
  13. This is the first time since I saw my first 3D game that I've genuinely been open mouthed at a new game/visual. Absolutely stunning.
  14. Oh my dairylea goodness. Bring on the Babybel. Yes I know, Primula...GET OFF MY CHEESE BOARD! Cannot wait...
  15. So many lately, but one of the first was Lion King on PC back on DOS. Great first level or so, loved the idea of getting to be adult Simba eventually and swipe/fight things. Then, the swinging on monkeys level happened. Countless hours/days/weeks spent trying to get past that bit. And I only recently in the past year found out why, because it turns out it was designed to be difficult and impassable for the average gamer like I was. And the reason? Because Di$ney had done market research on game rentals and if people got too far on that first day of renting, they wouldn't buy the game in full. The sneaky bar stewards. I should be able to sue them for lost hours and stress in my youth. EDIT: Yep.
  16. Not sure why this popped up on YouTube just now, and I'm sure it's old by the time of this post. But wow, I am amazed by this portrayal of Robin Williams. Initially I thought I'd missed some biopic in the works, but it's billed as just it's own thing done by Jamie Costa. Is this a new level of viral marketing? Either way, an absolutely brilliant performance in just a few minutes. Probably doesn't fit in this folder but anyway.
  17. Ahh this is sad news indeed. Norm was genuinely one of the funniest and unique comedians I can remember. He’s done so much but his Burt Reynolds on SNL Celebrity Jeopardy still gives me those stupid giggles. RIP.
  18. State of all this. Penalties are the equivalent of flipping a coin. It's a 50/50 (* citation needed). That's why no matter what team is taking them, they all hug and pray to whatever deity that luck goes their way. It's an absolute crap way to decide a game, but a necessary evil. If England win penalties (or any team you don't support) - "Oh well done you only won cos of penalties" If England (or your team) lose "Haha you're shit you're shit you're shit we knew you could never beat us HAHAHAHAHA"...! Again, state of this nonsense! 'England always lose on penalties' - what? Yeah cos it's the same team that played before with the same manager...right England lost out of absolute shite luck. And if it happened the other way, then Italy would have lost out of absolute shite luck. England took a really decent, International-level team all the way to the finals. That's something to be proud of if you support them, and if you don't, just admit they got there and fair play.
  19. This is on my list this weekend now
  20. I hope he still lives in a mansion conducting business meetings from a hot tub with a brick mobile phone.
  21. "...like real seals.." Seriously it's such a subtlety brilliant format for Alan. I never thought we'd see great Alan again after I'm Alan Partridge, but the Partridge multi-verse is definitely strong. Loving it.
  22. 1989 - just goosebumps even watching that reveal again... and then "shields"... I also have vivid memories of enjoying this moment far too much in Returns... From 3:20-ish onwards, when that music climax hits and that bit happens
  23. I guess I’m going less annoying cute kid and more just irritating kid actors. I know Dakota Fanning is a great actress, but her 40yr old way of speaking began to grate incessantly. Also, the main kid in Kindergarten Cop can get tee fook. Mopey over acting show off.
  24. Time to introduce this into our daily converse. Steal! Complete with the air hand snatch as well?
