  1. Just picked up the Switch version and thought this thread would be massive, didn't realise a lot of people thought the originals were mediocre!

Anyway, really looking forward to it. Thought the Crash remasters were great, even though I was awful at them.

Insult to injury with Grealish, the yellow card for diving can't even be revoked.  Kevin Friend's next game at Villa Park is going to be fun.

Still can't believe that decision, crazy. The person I feel worst for is Lansbury! Not exactly had the best spell at Villa, would have meant a great deal to him.

What bugs the hell outta me is you can see the bags of talent we just aren't getting it right in terms of tactics and on the managerial side of things.

When thing's click, they really click.

I just think that most times Clotet is too afraid to go out for the win and is trying to shut up shop first and foremost and maybe nick the odd goal. If you look at our wins they have been when the crowd have really gotten behind the team or when we have gone a goal down at home and thus had nothing to lose. The big losses again have been because we have gone into games with 5 at the back and left our strikers completely isolated.

We need to be looking to start Crowley as the few times he has played he has been immense on the attacking side of things and it was great for Bellingham. You could see what it meant to him when he darted over to our fans to celebrate. To think he's been with us since he was 7 and has had a chance to earn some experience so young.

I'd love him to be our next big thing but sadly we know what our club's like and he'll be gone as soon as there is a decent offer :(

It's always the risk though when you put a young player in the starting 11, bigger clubs start taking note. He's not ready to be starting week in, week out. He obviously need a to bulk up a bit as well but he is 16 haha, can't really have a go at the lad!

I'm still not convinced Clotet will be manager for much longer, will be surprised if he's in charge after new year. Once again we will be back to square one but that's just how things are now at the club. The owners obviously want to move the club forward and are willing to put money towards doing so but they don't seem to understand much about football and how important being patient and having a plan from the top of the club to the bottom is. I always feel that for every good decision they make, there are three awful ones waiting.

  4. Not sure what to make of Birmingham's start.

We've literally not played well in any game but were on a decent points total. We've been hammered three nil away from home a couple of times in games where it could have been far worse. Not sure about this new style of football which were supposed to be playing, I don't see an awful lot of change.

Thank God for the Juke. Three goals at home already this season.

Oh and a quick word on Jude Bellingham, 16 year old who broke our record for youngest ever score and it happened to be the winner.

Stoke are poor, and they happened to be better than us on the day! They just collapsed as soon as we put a bit of pressure on.

  5. After reading this thread last week I decided to take the plunge on a PSP. Paid £60 for a mint unboxed red 3003. Wasn't sure if it was a good price but didn't mind really, my local game shop has done me some amazing deals over the years (Vintage Gamer in the black country If anybody cares).

I got it home and a few days later realised it had a bunch of emulators on it and was packed full of games, very nice surprise.

The games I picked up are...

    Sega Rally

    Virtua Tennis Pro Tour

    Bubble Bobble Evolution

    Micro Machines V4

    Capcom Collection Reloaded

Got the lot for £13 which I thought was a decent enough deal, not really sure what they're going for on Ebay. I'd imagine it won't be much.

Anyway, Sega Rally is fantastic. It's criminal I didn't play this when it was released, I'm not sure many people did mind. I'd imagine sales weren't great but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I'll have to try the console version at some point.

Played a bit of Virtual tennis, finding it a bit difficult at the moment but just need to practice I think. Enjoying it nonetheless.

Played 1942 on the Capcom Collection, I'm horrid at it but i do love that game. Looking forward to getting into the other games, pretty sure I had this for the PS2 back in the day.

Micro Machines has been fun but it seems to be missing something that the earlier games in the series had. I'm not sure what it is though. Maybe it'll get better as I get further Into it.

Only game i am unsure about is Bubble Bobble, the guy who sold me it kind of gave me a grimace when he saw me choose it. I didn't know it had been released on PSP either, hopefully I get a nice surprise.

Last thing to note is the screen seems better to me now than it did back when it was released. Maybe I only saw the earlier models back in the day.

    TLDR

    Fun times ahead.

So Blues just signed ivan sunjic. I mean wow talk about buying players well above us!

Just a striker or 2 n i’d be feeling quite positive about the upcoming season.

a far cry from how i felt after monks sacking.

Im not sure Clotet is the right guy to be in charge but we will see

He will be gone by November.

Anyway yes, a few good signings though having watched our last pre season game, I'm really not sure about the Change in formation. I'm a wee bit worried by it.

    Thought Crowley looked good though.

  7. The club is ran very well by the owners. They always make profit on their players but it doesn't seem to affect the team position mucb. I think I read somewhere that the chairman tells new managers beforehand that they have to continue the style of football which they played since Warburton.

  8. Gaming is strange at times.

So for the last three days I've been struggling to beat Blooper in the adventure mode. Not even getting close to winning.

First match tonight, absolutely destroyed him.

I just had to tell people as i feel like I've beaten Andre the giant in a strongman contest.

I told the missus but she figured making the tea was more important. Shrug.

Perez to Leicester for £30m. Lose your best manager in recent years so the club try to win over fans by instantly selling their best striker... Who’d be a Newcastle fan?

I'm all for having a go at Ashley but that's a good deal for Newcastle. He's not worth anywhere near that.

  10. Think that's a great signing for Leeds. They're quickly turning into the favourites for Promotion next season. Though of course being Leeds, they'll make a difficult job of it.

Noticed Southampton signed one of our best youngsters today. When will it end.

  11. Not sure where it leaves us. We have to get in line with FFP so we knew we'd have to get the money from somewhere, it was either do a dodgy ground sale or sell players.

It looks like we're being forced to go with youngsters next season and a new style of football. It's not looking good at all.

Well Southampton are now sniffing elsewhere for a new striker :)

Due to the upheaval we haven't responded regarding their 14 million pound offer for Che Adams. To me that's grand news! What's irked me is that our club seems to have a reputation now because of the Yeung years. Their first offer was a measly £8 million. Any other club would be asking for closer to £20million but clubs think they can come in with small amounts and end up getting our players cheaply.

Only have to think back to Demarai Gray, Nathan Redmond and Jack Butland.

There is more concern at the moment, Pep Clotet the current head coach was interviewed yesterday and he basically answered he doesn't know to most of the questions. Questions including who's in charge of bringing in players this summer

His interview was very underwhelming and cagey. He will be gone by Christmas I reckon.

The Che Adams one is a bit weird. I don't think he's worth any more than £12,000,000 and think he will struggle to make a significant impact in the PL. However, we will find it very difficult to replace him in our current situation.

  13. Nowhere near as good as Mario Kart 8, however, it's a very good game. Though there are a few things which are a wee bit annoying.

The difficulty seems a bit high on Normal mode. The rubber banding is worse than MK8 which is saying something. It's extremely difficult to catch up to first place at times especially when sometimes you hit them with a weapon and they still seem to move forward at standard speed whilst you get stopped for what seems like ages.

The drifting. Admittedly I didn't have much playtime on the original CTR as I had an N64 but it just seems a bit unnecessary, maybe I'm just so used to the standard drifting mechanic in other kart racers that I'm being unfair but I really don't like it much.

The online. Had three bug filled racers earlier on, one race was just me on my own and I ended up 6th! Hopefully a patch is coming soon.

I do like the game though and the amount of single player modes is refreshing for this genre so kudos for that.
