Firstly I will hold my hands up and say I was pretty sceptical of this and was probably part of the tide of cynicism that drove the guy away. Now I'm not going to say this is a defence but going by previous attempts at copying the GM formula, and gaming-related TV in general, it's not surprising people were not convinced. We've thankfully all been proven wrong and I'll bet that has shaken some assumptions re gaming on television. It would have been nice if the guy had made an attempt to counter the mockery though. Maybe if it had been challenged it would have made a big difference and, again, shaken up some of the more hardened cynical views.

ha, why should he have persevered any more against a horde of sarcasm

I think it's a bit sad the way that guy was treated. They probably just thought it would be nice to give us the chance to be involved and then he basically got treated like he was taking massive liberties by daring to come and invite us!

Can just imagine him thinking "oh well, fuck those nerds"

I honestly don't get the comments about how clever the narrative is, it feels very basic and obvious to me.

I'm up to 2018 now (I think) and it's been okay I guess. It does capture the fact that I like unpacking boxes in real life to see what exciting things I have from years ago, whilst also replicating the tedium I find from then putting everything in its place.

I also hate how cramped the kitchens are (something that I also hated in my previous flat.)

It's become a cliché now, but this is perfect for Game Pass, because there's no way I would've ever bought this (at any price) but I will play and finish it and the devs will have got some kind of income from me doing so (or at least some metrics that might get MS to be interested in whatever they do next.) I don't think it's very good, though.

How can your time be so worthless you’ll finish a game you wouldn’t buy for 1p?

  4. Dishonored - one look at the world/lore and that was it

Galaga - the sounds, the turning upside down of the aliens

Pac Man Championship Edition - neon delight (still maintain CE2 was a big disappointment)

    Marble Madness - the surrealism

He wasn't hounded at all, he posted "Hi fellow gamers!" and got very lightly teased about it before throwing a paddy and deleting all trace having not engaged at all. The post was essentially drive by spam.

But yes, every sign is this is going to be horrific. It'll be, at best, a sanitised celebrity driven attempt to recapture the original which will please no-one.

Either they should go full tilt 2021 and ignore us (good luck finding enough young'uns who actually watch TV) or actually make a show for us (good luck finding enough of US who watch TV) rather than "Lol aren't gamers nerds" which is what his original pitched seemed to be.

It's almost like calling it gamesmaster is a bad idea.

I presumed he just realised all the sarcastic comic store guy types on here wouldn’t make decent telly 😄

Wait a year and it will come

I'd expect PC games that are pending going on Game Pass to plummet so will probably just buy it at a knock down price

That's the cost of activating developer mode on your Xbox. You just purchase that access on your console and then you can install retroarch. No modding necessary. The S alone is an emulation powerhouse. This was one of the best things about having an original Xbox and now you can do it without modding or getting banned!

Don’t even need dev mode now.

I tend to think if I’m so interested in those games I’d be better off buying an XBOX and GP. For now there’s not enough games on GP that interest me so instead I’ll just minimise spend on those.

If you have a decent PC you could get GPU and get it on there, would probably play better with mouse + KB as well.
