    Nintendo Wii U

Smyths have them in store or online at £199.99 with just Nintendo Land. Bundles with M&L seem to pop up every now and again for about £220-£230, can't see any at the moment though. Seen a few WIndWaker editions go on eBay for £230-£240
  3. Lovely review. There's no way I can go without this game in my life until Xmas day. Is it wrong to open my kids' present and have a quick go or 50? Like research, checking its suitable for him?

    Nintendo Wii U

Had a little play on my kids Xmas pressie earlier. Updates took 20 mins. Transferred Mii's from 3DS. Gamepad feels very comfy, UI is decent if a little slow. Display on pad was better than I expected, not quite as nice as 'dat screen' but still good. Shame no optical audio out as I have a pre-hdmi amp. Impressed by the amount of stuff you get in the box - didn't realise it came with stand for the pad and a sensor bar. Downloaded TW101 demo, Jesus it was confusing. Didn't know what to look at, wasn't even sure which chars were enemies! Does the full game introduce things slowly? Think it put me off the full game a bit tbh.
  5. Yep Xmas game for our household, although due to the fact 'multiplayer doesn't add to the game' we will be sharing the controller. NOT. On a serious note, will wiimotes need a nunchuck too? Keep reading mixed opinions online and avoiding reviews in case of spoilers.

    Nintendo Wii U

Just picked up a premium with Nintendo land for £199.99 at Smyths for my boys Xmas pressie. Lego City Undercover LE is £30 at shopto. 3D Land £40 and I'll get Zelda and TW101 for myself after Christmas. Going to update it all now so ready on the day. Can't wait!
  7. +1 for Monty Python reference!
  8. I've convinced my son to ask Santa for a wii u with Mario for Xmas. Wins all round.
  9. Super demo, really looking forward to this. I love JRPGs where I can lose a few hours tinkering in the menus and the building aspect seems brilliant.

    Nintendo 3DS

This is the first I've heard of Bravely Default, it looks right up my street. Will give the demo a go tomorrow
  11. That looks absolutely terrible. Surely this will never be released

Apologies to you and the other 2 players for letting a few games slip. Have been working 12 hour+ shifts to raise funds for Xmas/ new consoles! I honestly thought that the person who timed out would forfeit the game, can't think why that might not always be the case. If anyone wants a game, Feel free to invite.

    Nintendo Wii U

Thanks peeps. Forgot about Lego Undercover, my boy has asked before about that That Art academy looks great for my daughter too. Bit of a shame about the controller situation though. Can see myself having to get a few wii motes, classic controller pro a wii u pad etc. probably a balance board for the missus too! Getting a work discount card next month so can wait a bit longer

    Nintendo Wii U

Alright, selling my PS4 preorder and fully intending to get a Wii U before Xmas. I just have a few question if I may: I believe it will let me play Wii games. Xenoblade is on my wish list in particular. I also believe I cannot use the tablet controller, but can I use the pro controller thing (the one that looks like a 'normal' pad)? How many hours use would I get from the controller before it needs a charge, also can it be plugged in while I continue to play? Kids games. Obviously there's the upcoming 3D Mario, anything else out now or before Xmas that a 4 and 7 year old might enjoy? For reference they enjoy the Lego games, F1 Race Stars, Animal Crossing etc. How likely is a Zelda or Mario + premium console for £200 in the next month or so? Thanks!
  16. Road Rash Theme Park/Hospital Chaos Engine (as a 3rd person shooter)
  17. It looks brilliant, not just graphically, it looks like it will be genuinely fun to play. Neighbours will think there's a war going on in my living room when I put this on. I've gone from waiting for some reviews to shutupandtakemymoney.jpg
  18. Wreckless, Xbox Looked amazing but was horrible to play, I hated it Edit: just checked out the review scores, IGN gave it a 9.0 ^^
  19. Thanks for doing this Wiper, has been an enjoyable read. As for the top 10, I have played and completed all except for Dark Souls. I just couldn't get into it, think I played it for an hour and hated it. Wouldn't of put Galaxy or the Portals my top 10 personally. Probs would of had GTA 5 and Valkyria Chronicles instead. All the comments make me want to give Dark Souls another try. Maybe I'll make it my last game of this gen. Maybe.

    Playstation Vita

I tried playing Gravity Rush ages ago when it came free with PS+ and didn't get into it at all. Thought I'd give it a second chance this evening and had loads of fun! Just takes a little time to get the controls sorted and then it's great, I love the art style and quirky characters. I love collecting gems and unlocking the challenges. I love the way new skills and features are introduced as you play. What a nice surprise, can't wait to play more tomorrow

    Nintendo Wii U

I must admit I've been laughing internally at the Wii U over the last year, but £200 with Wind Waker? Sounds good to me! My kids will love me more right? I can't see myself getting a PS4 or Bone on release due to having zero interest in any of the launch games.
