  1. I’n About 265 hours in (!) and I’ve never been to Pondo’s Lodge either. Incredible. Also, just yesterday I came across a Korok puzzle I’d not not encountered before (it involves daffodils). This game.
  2. Is there a Rllmuk tourney set up so we can recreate the glorious summer of 2014?
  3. This game! I'm staggered by how big it is, and how packed it is with stuff to discover. I'm 85 hours on the clock and I'm only one divine beast down, with 57 shrines, 111 koroks, 11 hearts and two full stamina wheels. I think I've fairly comprehensively explored four regions - the rest are mysteries. I've done Vah Ruta - no spoilers please, but any hints as to what the next one might be good to head for? There's a weird green glow coming from what looks like the Rito domain...
  4. Slightly obsessed with this game... Just had a cracking round on bounty hunt.
  5. Yeah, this really is quite something with HDR. Near the end of act 2 and some of the locations there look astonishing. i am hopeless but will be multiplayering later if anyone fancies it? Gamertag is JesB1973
  6. Cheers feltmonkey! We worked very hard to go all-out on the new WD - and it's certainly inspired in part by my time on mags like N64 and NGC. I'm particularly happy with the boxed games feature - loads of exclusive new rules for loads of games.

  8. This turned up from ShopTo yesterday (!). I've always had a soft spot for this one and it looks terrific – I'm suffering from a strange sense of dislocation though as I originally played it on the Wii and thus mirrored, while the non-Hero Mode in the HD version is the unmirrored GC version.
  9. Fantastic work on some ace minis there, Cocky.
  10. De-lurking... Really, really enjoying this. My Shopto copy turned up last Saturday (!) so I plunged through it on Heroic solo, and then almost immediately started back in on Legendary co-op. Second time around I'm 'getting the story' more, enjoying fighting the Prometheans more know I now how they work (especially the Knights – you can literally dismantle them), and each is giving me that proper Halo 'feel'. Really muscular, dense, rewarding combat. The more I play, the more it seems all the weapons have their niche too – the Suppressor in particular is a hidden gem with its minor-homing bullets, and the scoped Light Rifle is surprisingly potent. I am also really enjoying Osiris and Blue Team – I honestly think there's a surprising amount of strategy (or at least usefulness) to using them (ordering them to pick up the power weapons, highlighting targets etc). Tackled you-know-who on Legendary last night and we found ordering the team mates to the back of the high ground to stay safe and remain alive for healing surprisingly useful (and a lucky shot from Buck with the incinerator Cannon finished him off!).
  11. Nice write-up, Feltmonkey. If any other 'Mukkers are thinking of visiting, drop me a PM. If deadlines aren't doing me in, I'll pop through and say hi.
  12. Gawd bless ye, Yoshimax.
  13. All of this is splendidly exciting news for my Xbox One. To be able to play a Blast Corps again! Eep. Backwards compatibility! Blimey. If any kind soul has any invites going my gamertag is (cough - really must change this) Jesbian. All I can offer is my undying gratitude in return.

Great games there chaps - agree with you, Si, it seems to be 'taking' better today! Really interesting seeing how the older tracks handle under 200cc too.

Had a wee blast of 150cc before work this morning and it feels so slow compared to the games last night. I started to get half-decent on that horrific hairpin on Koopa City last night by braking while keeping accelerate and the power slide held down - you decelerate, turn sharply, and your boost continues to build so when you stop braking and release the power slide you'll boost out of your deceleration. I think! It's hard to explain - but it feels like 200cc has completely changed how MK8 works.

Thanks everyone - that was great fun. 200cc throws everything you know out the window! Adding a brake tap into the mix seems to be crucial but suddenly my fingers are doing three things, not two, which is curiously complex. Anyway, top stuff and no doubt back on very soon.
