  1. Onto Frog Detective 3. Lovely little games. Give me a game that takes an hour rather than some epic that's 50 hours.
  2. Three cars again? Was double that at least wasn't it with GT Sport? Back then they were outsourcing work to increase output.
  3. The Euro is little different. The Fed have been raising interest rates sharply increasing the value of the dollar, and it's a flight to safety in a worldwide recession/depression which is coming
  4. Thanks to someone upthread who recommended Sign of the Sojourner before it left. A lovely game. 9/10 in Edge when it came out but had passed me by. It's leaving end of the month, and is pretty short.

The club is a graveyard for managers
  6. Councils should use this as a tool to get people cleaning local areas. They'd have ample volunteers
  7. Did Shenmue have the first movable eyes on a player character? I recall reading something about it in around 98.
  8. There were a couple of great 007 games in the early 2000s. Nightfire was one I think. Agent under fire the other? Wasn't Goldeneye so reviewed poorly.
  9. Cut and paste press releases are the name of the game more than ever. Journalists are sometimes set crazy targets for page views, and many hired are on dismal wages fresh out of uni. See titles from Reach group; The Mirror, Express, the live titles (SussexLive, KentLive etc) and MyLondon and Liverpool Echo. All owned by the same group. Top brass raking it in. Clickbait drivel the norm. Same at many games sites as well as across the net.
  10. I miss when they had a spare car and it was often set up for one or another driver.
  11. There were a few protesters sitting on Wellington Straight. No idea if they got there *before* the cars would have arrived. The race would have been red flagged regardless with that
  12. Looks like Russel's left rear was clipped then he veered into Zhou
  13. God this is dull. Never mentally clocked out of a Canadian GP this soon
  14. Trek to Yumi is good so far and hearing it's not too long is keeping me going. Barely time for epics when I was 18. Certainly none now. Keep it short.
  15. I always far preferred GT4 to GT3. So much more content, with loads of great tracks. GT3 always seemed bare bones to me to meet early PS2 release even at the time. It had so much less than GT2
  16. How long til vettel packs it in? Then again I expect on huge money. Terrible aagin for Aston Martin and Williams.
  17. One of my faves not mentioned is f1 97 on ps1. Along with Toca 1/2 it made GTs release in 1998 a bit of a damp squib for me. Dynamic weather was in f1. Trying to stay out on dry tyres when the rain started was fun. Random engine failures too. Puffs of smoke from the engine begin: do I stay out with two laps to go not going up to top speed and coast with the risk it goes bang, or come into pits for a hopeful fix? Same with damage. All on a humble ps1. Plus 20 cars, lots of tracks and some great cheats like black and white mode with 1950s cars. I know it's a much different game to GT, but when the lights go green and you're simply racing, GT was so dull after all the anticipation and the review scores. Toca, F1 and GT all launched within a year. GT felt sterile with only 6 cars, dull AI and nothing as interesting as damage (and its impact), car failures nor weather. In the modern age though I'd say GT Sport swept all before it for me. Guaranteed great races each night. Only took PD 20 years but they got there
  18. Makes sense from Sony's point of view but for me can't see much difference. For years I've picked up plus for £30 when on special and Now for £20-£25 so quite a jump in price. A rebrand may help with the general public as many still don't seem to know PSNow allows downloads of many games - and has for years now - and has hundreds of games. It's been a long long time since it was streaming only. There's so many games now for next to nothing I barely have time so this is an incentive to give up the top tier at least.
  19. Verstappen will probably pull his usual dive, so Le Clerc has to stand his ground to lay down a marker for the year ahead. If contact is made so be it, but probably better for the year ahead to let MV know he can't pull it.
  20. Yep it's a great game at heart buried beneath micro transactions and a bizarre online multiplayer mode. I'd never played an online game before GT Sport, racing or otherwise. I fell in love with it. Trifling around securing 9th was enormous fun. I rarely won but it doesn't matter. I thought GT7 would have an expanded Sport (say, 5 daily races with 2 being tune and 3 as it was)with a fair few new tracks and new cars. Couple that to a single player mode and what can go wrong? Instead they've in effect locked off a lot of single player and cars unless paying micro transaction after selling it at £70rrp. There's barely any new tracks. Multiplayer is a mess. I can't just dip in after a day of work. How they did that after 5 years of GT Sport and building up such a fanbase I don't know. They were great at adding free tracks and cars to GT Sport but I fear they will even charge for that now. Unless a backlash stops it.
  21. This is a free to play game constantly pushing micro transaction that they've charged £70 for. A massive pisstake
  22. I really hope some new original tracks come along soon. I was driving some of PD's original tracks from GT Sport and they're generally wonderful. There isn't a single new one in GT7. Only remade older GT tracks and even then is it just 3? It's been years in the making! Still, the handling is excellent but it does feel unfinished.
  23. Have they sorted Sport mode yet? It seemed a bit of a mess last week. Given it's 5 years since Sport the game seems a bit underwhelming. Sport mode has regressed if anything, there's few cars newer than 5 years old and even the soundtrack rehashes a lot of tracks. There's just 3 new tracks above GT Sport levels too. Given they started to outsource car modelling about 4 years back I expected a fair bit more content. I know it's PD but it's a bit flat once the initial enjoyment of Menus passes. Might sell and pick up in 3 months if they sort it with new tracks, cars.
