  1. Anyone know if its possible to copy the SNES "pulsating" border which shifts to the colours on screen over to retroarch?
  2. For those wondering: Look how much better it all is. The old version is absolutely rock solid and I've read a few complaints about the newer one so haven't upgraded but stuff like this makes it tempting, especially the Dreamcast improvements. PSC just keeps on delivering.
  3. Yep but this is the internet where a bunch of overweight, middle aged guys with questionable personal hygiene have nothing better to do that bitch about what someone else has actually done whilst doing sweet FA themselves to help anyone else. Personally I really appreciate the effort as you need English in these games to get the most enjoyment as the text adds loads to the experience which is also why I gave @Goemon props for his offer to pitch in but the usual knee jerk squad who are still sensitive over my last posts evidently didn't comprehend that..
  4. Has anyone else been keeping up with the latest updates? Apparently there are some big changes to the Amiga emulation as it uses a totally different app now.
  5. Only 2 dislikes? You're slipping, you silly little nerdy social rejects. Quick, send out the signal Because just like before you know what I said is true. Lamers.
  6. Can anyone with a Shield TV compare the emulation quality for DC and report back? Thats mainly what I want one for and from what I've heard the Shield has more grunt and thus should have better emulation?
  7. That would be good, be helpful instead of dissing those who are making an effort because its thanks to them that dozens of us who never played these games finally get to experience them and make sense of whats kicking at the same time. If every armchair critic actually pitched in with their professed skills instead of just bitching imagine what it could be?
  8. How many games have you translated and released?
  9. Truth. The ergonomics and general quality puts me off a lot of these emulation devices as they all manage to do something wrong whilst the Vita aces it on all accounts and has the best dpad ever. I'd happily pay upto 50 for a perfectly working DC emulator on there as those games on that screen with that form factor would be perfection.
  10. Oh indeed. Translation of 4 is on the way as well.
  11. http://www.romhacking.net/translations/5354/ http://www.romhacking.net/translations/5353/ How amazing? Big props to the team for making this finally happen, drama laced thread and origin story here: http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=20026.160 Here's some covers for the SNES Mini (Preset 0000): They really should have a Patreon/donation thing for the effort that went into making this happen as I'd slide a few bucks over to show my appreciation. Enjoy
  12. Was checking out some videos and it seems to be a really good option as its decently priced, small, quiet and powerful plus very well supported with lots of optimized builds of various emulators. Anyone on board? If so how is it?
  13. We, being s.m.a.t, already knew this of course but the proof is out there: If you're good at games, you might also be good at everything else. That's according to a new study that found two of the world's most popular video games act like IQ tests. Those who are the best at them also get the highest scores on traditional intelligence tests, suggesting that video games might actually make you smarter. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/gaming/video-games-computer-intelligence-iq-test-league-legends-dota-2-defence-ancients-a8057176.html . Gamers perform 10 to 20 percent higher in terms of perceptual and cognitive abilities compared to non-gamers according to the research. Furthermore, the research revealed gamers have longer attention spans and larger field of vision than normal people. https://www.versiondaily.com/science-gamers-are-better-and-smarter-than-non-gamers/ For our study, the experienced players conducted standard paper-and-pencil intelligence tests. The results showed that those with higher IQ test scores tended to perform better at the game. http://theconversation.com/why-video-games-could-be-the-new-iq-tests-87625 Not to mention the rest of the benefits like increased reaction time, offsetting neuro degradation due to ageing, better focus, more concentration, ease of multitasking etc.. Dang it feels good to be a gamer! And now a little bit of philosophy to herald my return: * *'Im sure you're smart enough to read between the lines

    Gamer or lamer?

Because, oh mature voice of sanity, I actually must've touched some kind of nerve otherwise you nerds wouldn't be reacting in such predictable ways. Bans, closed threads, angry dislikes being clicked, patting each other on the back for your communal dislike for the one who dares to say something different about your coping mechanism... I could go on but I feel this point has been made enough now and thanks to you all for participating, may it bring some joy to your otherwise drab lives.

Wow, someone caught feelings and closed the other thread, just like that! Very interesting because now even more of you lot will read it due to curiosity so jobs a good un! Slice like a ninja, cuts like a razor blade!

Ah here comes the big fella, thanks for putting in an appearance. If you actually read your contributions back in this thread they are very amusing as is your feigned air of indifference when in reality you and I know both how what I've said cuts to the quick because you can't deny the reality of it. As for the kind offer of a slap why not first apply it to yourself because, after all, you're the one who would say that over 50% of the greatest experiences in your life have been via a games console. Isn't that just a bit, sad? Do you need a hug big fella? *group hug*

Yes, best run away now that I'm actually posting because getting bitch slapped isn't what you really want in front of your nerdfriends, now is it? Run along and whimper quietly in the corner or, I know, waggle your joystick furiously. That'll teach him! A predictable reaction with 24,962 posts under your belt to someone who is pressing a sore spot with reckless abandon. A sci fi series, narcissistic gamer, obsessed with Doctor Who? Its just too easy so I'll let you be but thank you for sticking your head above the parapet for that one...
  18. I don't know who that is nor his history and its my first time signing up here as mods will easily confirm so you can throw that cope out of the window and instead of pointing your finger at me consider the three pointing back at yourself in regards to what I said in the OP. Think.

Notice how you aren't giving it the big un now when it comes to interacting as I'm actually stomping around here? I don't have any wish to eviscerate you as its obvious that my words have already hit the spot based on your reactions but I do wish you'd actually stop and think because you do have the potential to perceive reality and your motivations far more clearly... As for the quote, once again its true and thats one of the reasons why I picked this place because its slow enough yet full of card carrying, lifelong members whose stories are quite similar and thus perfect for my intention to sprinkle a little self awareness on em. Those of you that feel some kind of way about what I've said here or on the other thread, you can either voice your displeasure via clicking the dislike button and feeling so triumphant at this little win (maybe even class it as an Achievement in your life and each time you look at your shiny digital trophies you'll notice the counterbalance of low self esteem in the real world which is why this need exists in the first place) or you could actually, for once, stop and reconsider your motivations and why you feel this way... Sprinkling seeds...
  20. Do you feel like a sad clown? Laughing on the outside but crying on the inside? Its OK, let it out. You're with friends now and can be brave enough to admit what stings or feel free to try and shrug it off with whatever passes as a witty comment even though you and I both know you'll never look at gaming entirely the same way again as this concept is now embedded in your brain each time you, a fully grown man, sit down to "play".

I'm like Christ among the lepers... Just doing my good deed.
  22. Lets take it back to your formative years except this time you were one of the "cool kids" at school. You looked good, were self assured, confident, intelligent, sporty and possessed natural social skills and charisma that always placed you at the head of the pack. Do you think this version of you would've needed to escape into his bedroom to stare at a screen for hours? No, I didn't think so. The previous thread was designed to make a splash in your awareness to dreg up deeper patterns of thought and make you reconsider your lifelong motivations. Using the above as an example you should hopefully begin to see your situation differently. I'm not here to insult you, nor condescend or preach. If you interpret it that way it would be much more fruitful to ask "Why?" and reflect on that. The way I see it gaming is the sign of a prolonged adolescent yearning for life to be different than what it is extended into most members adulthoods with little insight into the situation because I'd be glad to wager that the vast majority of you live generally unfulfilling lives in contrast to what you feel is your true potential as you were long ago hoodwinked to accept second best, hence the idea of someone threatening your salvation as presented by gaming is akin to slaughtering holy cows. Before knee jerking yet again or back slapping each other for conforming to your consensual reality tunnel stop for a moment and consider what I'm actually saying. You may just find it very profitable and all I wish to do is make you think...

Actions speak louder than words and yes it certainly appears you did duck this thread until I'd been banned again. Its not a case of being misunderstood but more so being surrounded by weak people who don't like that fact being pointed out to them as they derive too much pleasure from something thats designed to help alleviate the misery from their otherwise less than optimal lives. I'm going to start another thread on the topic with a slightly different approach, you can all do what you want with this one.
