  1. "London's not as white as it used to be. Of course you can't say that nowadays without somebody thinking you've got some sort of problem. Did I ever tell you, there's a very easy way to spot a transvestite?" "Would you like some money, John?" "hmmm?" "Would you like some money? To stop talking?" "Well, it would come in handy. Horrendous blood sucking women. Did I ever tell you about my latest divor-" "John! We're going to give you lots of money. You could use it to make a new show" "Oh, that's very kind of you. It would have to be something new and fresh of course." "Off you fuck then. In your bastard grave." That's how the pitch went. Crafty old John just treat it like any other interview. They were throwing money at him just to get him out the door!
  2. Oh dear, apidya on the mister is fecked. When you get to scene 3 the sprites start to disappear! https://streamable.com/i5eal6 Looks like it's a know issue with amiga emulation - http://mantis.whdload.de/view.php?id=2421&nbn=2 That's a shame, I was doing quite well up until that point! Wonder Planet got added yesterday - https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=6109
  3. Yeah, I'll wait for the bitwave release of the arcade version. M2 will get around to it eventually on consoles. I remember trying a naughty copy of the the s-tribute release of Layer Section and the input lag didn't feel bad on that one, so you never know, this might not be a total write off.
  4. "M2STG live broadcast 2/10 (Friday) 19:00" Those ships are from Zero Wing and Hellfire according to the comments.
  5. Somebody's been at the monkey paw again. https://www.gematsu.com/2023/02/batsugun-s-tribute-rated-for-switch-in-korea
  6. It's got some really nasty acceleration on the digital controls and it's just so slow and boring. I don't know, maybe folk who are into r-type and the more sedate old memo games might get a kick out of it. It was doing nothing for me. A bit too tame and bland.
  7. Demo for that valfaris shmup coming next week. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1647920/Valfaris_Mecha_Therion/ Just got a blind clear on EX -Extra-. Guy on my youtube was recommending it. It's cool, like a ketsui lite. It's chill but the second loop looks like a nightmare! You want to be playing the executable in the "bsize.zip", that way the game will fill up the full screen. The fullscreen mode forces 60hz, so if you've got a high refresh rate monitor, turn off fullscreen in the ini file and use borderless gaming to play fullscreen windowed. Left margin 240, right margin -240 to preserve the 4:3 aspect ratio at 1080p https://www.vector.co.jp/soft/dl/winnt/game/se481666.html edit: Better score with the first ship.
  8. This is good fun. Hyper Snow Drifter - https://kevinmonitor.itch.io/narumi-stg There's a score to beat. 349,887,900
  9. The Coogan live shows were always a lot broader with very "that'll do" writing, so I was ready for that, but blimey, daylight robbery for anyone who bought a ticket. It's weird, the Gibbons era stuff is all over the shop quality wise. At the top end you've got mid morning matters, the oasthouse, the books, and the specials, then on the lower end you've got alpha papa and this time, but this live show. Sheesh. Hopefully that's the bottom scraped and there's no lower they can go than that. Even the weaker stuff is worth watching for Coogan's performance, and there's always some good moments, but man, that was a slog. Louis CK - Back To The Garden - ***
  10. Haha Yeah, some of these games and characters have got weird names. "Exceed 3rd - Jade Penetrate Black Package" is a highlight. Describing anything as superlative though, particularly "night dreams", with a straight face, has to earn you top marks.
  11. Aaaaaaaaah. https://harddrop.com/wiki/Tetris_(Game_Boy) I only got the small missile, so I've got some ways to go yet! I'll remove the type-A clear.
  12. Scramble (arcade) 1cc Tetris (GB) - A-Type I got over 100,000 points in endless and saw the rocket. Is it fair to call that a win for that mode?
  13. Excellent! Was that with the red ship as well? That's the hardest ship to use for survival! This is ... surprisingly fun to play. Space Saviour Special. Two stage demo. Don't worry, you don't get that horrible inertia that's in the video on digital input. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2189200/Space_Saviour_Special/ There's a score to beat.
  14. Sorry, I haven't gotten around to trying the amiga yet, but sniffing around the net, it looks like that's part and parcel of the 5x integer scaling they're employing - https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2227 For some games, they're happy to crop the image so long as it doesn't effect the gameplay. Look at this gif of mega lo mania as an example. Are most of the other games fine and it's just that one that overscans like that? It says your mister has to be set up as 1080p output, so maybe double check that first. They say they're having to go through each individual game and tailor the settings accordingly so maybe they haven't gotten around to that game yet. It looks like it's scaling up 5x when you just want 4x if that's any help narrowing down things in the options, and maybe turn off any cropping options there are if you can see any. Hopefully someone else has dabbled with the amiga core and can help a lot better than that.
  15. Ay. Nice one I had to turn that setting on too. My monitor was shitting it's pants every five minutes the same as yours. What were you playing on the gameboy colour? I really like magical tetris challenge. Check this out, some clever folk have been making colour hacks for old gameboy games. https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=33121.0 Kirby's pinball land is great but really benefits from a nice splash of colour - https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6079/ You can patch the roms online here and it's all totally painless. https://www.romhacking.net/patch/
  16. Another patch for Akai Katana - https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2076220/view/3637254425214912943 People complaining that there was a lot more slowdown when firing and chasing your katanas in shin mode on the 360 so it looks like they've sorted that. I remember reading on the steam forum that the dev was having trouble fixing the laser behaviour without breaking replays so it looks like that might take longer to sort out. Finally got round to trying the Eigengrau demo. The slow focus speed was bothering me a little, but it's alright. Canny good. Three buttons, fire, turn clockwise, and turn anticlockwise. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1624320/Eigengrau/
  17. Haha, yeah, it actually feels a little much at times. I remember playing something a lot less flashy after and my brain was thankful for the break from the overload. If anyone fancies a free blind 1cc, harmful park on the PSX has got you covered. I realised on my second go that it's got that mechanic like in hazelnut hex where the more enemies you kill with one shot, the more points you get. The idea seems to be that you hurt the big enemies until they're almost dead and then wait for a lot of popcorn to get in front so you can shoot and hopefully take out a conga-line of pricks, your multiplier building with each kill, getting a big score payout from the high value bigger enemy at the end. I don't know if I can bring myself to play it again and try and get a decent score. It's just so damn boring. It looks great and is very inventive, but there's lots of dead air and you do a fair bit of just floating about, even if you're playing for score, waiting for lots of enemies to congregate and start shooting. There's lots to admire, but it plays like shit.
  18. While in the gameboy colour core, go to the audio and video options and turn this option on If that doesn't sort it, you could change the vsync settings that core is using. If you're using vsync_adjust=2 for lower lag, try adding this to the end of your mister.ini file. [GAMEBOY] vsync_adjust=1 and then try changing it from 1 to 0 if it's still wonky.
