This year marks the 25 yr anniversary of the 2 tone label, see this months record collector mag for full 20 odd page write up.
If you are under 30 go buy / ebay / kazza 2 tone now and see how much your lives were wasted by being born late.
BUT not too late of you know where to look. Just last Sunday I DJ'ed at the Selecter / Desmond Dekker gig in Camden and they both still had it. Gaps Henderson was making his Selecter return for the first in time in donkeys and looked liked he had never been away.
So can we look forward to a specials reunion this year ? No, but rumour has it Jerry Dammers may have something lined up, which i'm looking to be involved in (working with boyhood heroes ? i'll take that all day !)
So get your braces together and the boots on the feet, and get ready to do some of that ollllllllld moonstompin.
ARE YOU READY !!!

There are three things that I know a bit about in my life and that’s QPR, my guitar and drugs. I know QPR are the best football team in the world, my guitar is the most beautiful thing I own and that I don’t take enough drugs to kill me. It isn’t drugs that I need to get rid of; it’s the demons that fill my head. Once I have come to terms with my demons, maybe I’ll be able to get clean.Said by the man who said he moved to Bethnal Green to be near his beloved Hammers. Life stopping amounts of horse isone thing, changing football teams means he must be a cunt !

Anyone who thinks they are into music but say they don't like reggae are just ignorant. FACT
Wrong ! However, anyone who thinks that everyone should like their fave genre, could possibly be construed as ignorant.
For the record, i love reggae , more leaning towards the ska end of the spectrum, large trojan collection, massive collection of 1st , 2nd and 3rd gen ska music.
4th Gen this autumn, mark my words !!

No one hates the jam, but like the specials, its an incompatability fing init.
ARE YOU FUCKING MAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW Move on up is Paul Weller's all time fave tune (every band he's been in has done a cover fact fans), so i suppose the Jam haters will dismiss that now.

Ghost town - one of the greatest songs ever. Obviously means a lot more if your an old fucker like me and remember what things were like when it was released. Just about perfect in everyway.

A real bastard to play on the pc keyboard, but try it on a decent joystick set up (x-arcade or similar) and away you go.

Logo was also available on the Amstrad CPC's. All versions were written as a basic (no pun intended) version of prolog. Which was also shit.
Did em all at uni, prolog, occam, lisp, modula 2, smalltalk and other useless shite i cannot remember.

In the first single thread, Yummers made mention of her first gig not being to great, so its time to absolve your sins, boys and girls.
I'll go first, The Jam, 1981 beat surrender tour, 13 yrs young, and wishing the gig / day would never end.
But if anyones interested i've a good story about accidently seeing the pistols, the clash and the damned in the same night as a tender 9 yr old, but i don't think it counts as my first gig, even though it was.....................

One of my most loathed bands. Oh, the irony of "There's only one way of life"...
Seconded, if i hear another public schooly twat blaring this out of his (always his) tent at Reading, i will burn the cunt down.
I have their demo tape from when they were no bodies, kicking around somewhere (from when i used to work in the "biz"), and its shit.
If anyone wants it, please contact me , but prepared to be named and shamed as a soap dodging waster.

Nirvana grew into more of a four piece (on tour) once they got recognition.
