Bellamy spoke well of liverpool, and im glad he didnt slag us off. He could have stayed and picked up his wages but he wouldnt have played. I think the situation would have been the same with Ciise, had he stayed.

Yeah, Giggs and Ronaldo are better than our wingers (Gerrard not included as although he'll still be used out wide, it's only a starting position). However, it's laughable of sithlordx to suggest they're stronger in the middle, although I'm not surprised. If we can add Quaresma or Mancini to our ranks then our midfield would be the best in the league IMO:
-------------------Pepe
Finnan---Carragher--Agger----Riise
Gerrard-----Alonso--Mascherano--Mancini/Quaresma
-----------------Torres
------------------------Kuyt
^That is a team full of quality. The bench wouldn't look bad either with a squad including Carson, Aurelio, Hyypia, Arbeloa, Momo, Pennant, Kewell, Crouch and Voronin to choose from.
The squad is looking very big again. Either lots of changes, or a few players arent going to be in the first 16

Mancini would be first choice. He started out at right back, but has played left back, left mid, right mid and im sure he could play in the hole. His dribbling is amazing and creates and scores a few as well. Simao wouldn't be a bad second choice. I'm not sure about Quaresma, who without a doubt has the talent, but like Vezna was saying a page back, it would be too much of a risk.
If we sign a winger, our midfield is going to be seriously well stocked (If including Riise and Aurellio who can also play on the wing), the best in the premiership, and as long as we don't get off to a slow start theres no reason why we cant compete for the league right until the end of the season (im not getting carried away and saying were going to win it, just like to see us really pile the pressure on the mancs and chelsea)

Heinze is a quality player. If we sign him we have got Kewel, Riise and Aurelio for the left side. If they were to sign Mancini (can play on left or right) and Heinze i would be very surprised and happy.

Roma are reported to have rejected a bid from Liverpool for Alessandro Mancini.
Reports emanating from Italy suggest Roma have shunned an offer from the English club for the talented Brazilian.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez is believed to have put Mancini on his list of transfer targets this summer as he looks to add to his attacking options at Anfield.
Mancini enjoyed a fine season with Roma last term and he has established himself as a key player in the Giallorossi side.
Liverpool have been quiet in the transfer market so far this summer, but they are believed to have offered €19million (£12.7million) for the skilful winger.
Roma have previously rebuffed Liverpool overtures and are thought to be putting together a new deal to keep Mancini in the Italian capital until 2012.
From Sky Sports.
I think someone has been reading rllmuk and decided to put the rumour on sky sports

I just want to see a headline on skysports news that we have signed Torres, Mancini and Simao. Mancini and Simao should be about 10 mil a piece and Torres around 20, which for 40 million (a lot of money) are 3 quality signings. I dont want to see loads of players coming in, just a few quality signings. Come on Rafa
From Sky Sports
Bolton have agreed a deal for Liverpool midfielder Danny Guthrie. The 20-year-old is set to spend the whole of next season on loan at the Reebok Stadium.
Guthrie is highly-regarded within the corridors of Anfield and he made his first-team debut last season for Rafa Benitez's men.
The talented midfielder spent the final two months of last season on loan at Southampton helping them reach the play-off semi-finals.
Southampton were keen to keep Guthrie at St Mary's, but Bolton have stepped in to lure him to the Reebok.
Trotters boss Sammy Lee was overjoyed to land Guthrie.
"Danny is a dynamic midfielder who is very comfortable on the ball," Lee told the club's official website.
"He has a tremendous work-ethic and has got a great engine. He is a very good passer who will suit our type of football.

^ Have Liverpool signed Macherano on a permanent deal then? because i know it was a loan deal, but isnt Macherano owned by MSI, not by West Ham?

just watched the video. When Cisse plays to his potential i think he is as good as anyone but the problem is he seemed to moan a lot and not really chase the ball. Rafa Benitez seems to only like hardworking players which is understandable. We needed someone like Ruud Van Nistleroy for the season just gone, who i have to say has been one of the best strikers in europe (33 goals, and 20 in la liga i think).
If Eto'o is too expensive then Torres would be a good second choice but is a risk because no one knows how he will play in the premiership. The main advantage he has over Morientes is he has a fair bit of pace. Trezeguet has supposed to of had a fall out with Juve and he has been linked with liverpool before. I think hes about 29/30 now though but he could could be a good signing. If Liverpool ended up with Bent i wouldnt be too dissapointed but hes definately not on the top of my list.

Nice review, currently playing it for the first time. Im about 4 hours in and im really enjoying it

Were being linked with Morten Gamst Pedersen again, who i think would be a great signing for the left side.
I think if liverpool are going to try and get a striker, Eto'o would be first choice for me. Tevez is a good player but i think 30 million is over the top.

Did anyone complete it under an hour with one life? I couldn't do it myself...

Whos this Lucas player?
From SkySportsLiverpool have won the race for Brazilian midfielder Lucas, according to his club Gremio. The 20-year-old has long been linked with a move for Europe, as his impressive displays as the holding midfielder for Gremio have caught the eye of watching scouts.
Gremio have claimed a host of teams came calling, but stated Liverpool acted quickly to wrap up the transfer.
"We did business very fast with Liverpool because there was a lot of interest," Gremio secretary Alfredo Oliveira told Radio Bandeirantes.
"Lucas travelled to England to present himself and although there are a few little details to be resolved, I can say that the transfer has been arranged and that Lucas will join his new team once Gremio's participation in the Copa Libertadores ends."
It is believed that Liverpool have paid in the region of £8million for the Brazil international.
Gremio are in the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores, but Lucas should link-up with The Reds for pre-season in order to put pressure on the likes of Mohamed Sissoko, Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano.
8 Million is a lot of money, and by the sounds of it exactly what we neeed another central midfielder
