  1. I’m nearly four hours into this and I still have Sloan holding my hand in battles. You can literally spam forage and he’ll heal and revive your team, and kill all of the enemies too. When does he fuck off?
  2. Basically any WipEout track with a vertical drop. Metropia from HD, Omega, and one of the PSP games (iirc), has this vertical drop that goes in on itself. It’s fucking wild. Phantom + 4K + 60fps + HDR + banging choons, and it’s god tier gaming.
  3. Also enjoying this so far, a few hours in, but it definitely has lost some of the charm in the transition to hi-def graphics, and I don’t remember the story being so generic in Bravely Second. Perhaps it was? I met a pig on the world map who was telling me his story and a few lines in I was like ‘holy fuck i don’t care m8’. Might just skip the story bits. I remember absolutely loving the battle system and dungeons in the previous game, so I might just be in for all that stuff.
  4. I’ve had Q.U.B.E. 2 on my wishlist for a while, and was pleasantly surprised to see it has a 90% discount at the moment, making it a couple of quid. I reckon it’s one of the better Portal-style first person puzzlers.
  5. Holy shit, Maqutte looks amazing, but I don’t have a PS5. Can I even buy it on PS4?
  6. That seems to be the one, yep! Mine was from Amazon and the listing said it was a BittBoy console, but all of the pics suggested it was Anbernic, and it was.
  7. Yep, you get a 64GB MicroSD and hundreds of games. Mostly GBA from what I could tell, but dozens for other systems too. It’s very easy to switch it on and get playing right away.
  8. @bwi Good shout Updated to 2.0 this morning. Noticed yesterday that a few systems still didn’t have the correct scaling options as default etc, but this has sorted all of that according to the release notes. It’s great!
  9. 15 seconds or so for a full boot, but the standby mode is wonderful (and instant).
  10. From what I can remember of playing Bravely Second, it was a very traditional JRPG with an interesting battle mechanic and job system, and fixed many of the usual annoyances that come with the genre. I seem to remember being able to disable random battles if you wanted to? Probably using some special crystal or something. But that was good.
  11. I think so, yeah. I thought Octopath was pretty shit actually, but I also enjoyed FFVI. I’ve not played the original, but I loved Bravely Second. Best FF for years.
  12. There are very few DS games I want to go back to, but loads of 3DS games I’d love to play again. Touching things with the pen was cool and inventive and all that in 2004, but it’s a bit old hat now. Most of the big hitters were either better on GBA, or have been bettered since.
  13. I thought it was rubbish. I loved playing through Banjo Kazooie on 360, and was excited to play Tooie. From what I can recall, the stages are large and there’s a lot of backtracking, but it does a terrible job of leading you where to go next (I seem to remember BK using collectibles to guide you occasionally?). I gave up after a few hours.
  14. I bought an RG351P at the weekend after seeing a YouTube video recommending it, and I’ve been absolutely blown away. I’ve been looking for something like this for years, and bought a couple, but they all looked a bit crappy to me in some way, had questionable performance, or were too expensive. This is exactly what I’m looking for: 80 quid, perfect size, great performance, all the controls you need, good build quality, and a decent front end that isn’t super fiddly and doesn’t need endless customisation. I actually think this is the best way to play GBA games full stop,
