  1. The Anbernic 353 devices handle this stuff no problem - 353V, 353P, 353M. All pretty much the same internally, so whichever shape you prefer.
  2. Yeah, I prefer the glossy screen. The anti-glare one is obviously better for reducing glare, but it also gives this kind of frosted look to everything.
  3. Sonic controls really well, and it’s fun to chuck him around the world. Genuinely don’t know how controlling a super-fast character could be any better. The game has flaws but the controls is one of the best things about it. Had a quick go of Sonic Adventure 2 a few days ago and he controls like shit in comparison.
  4. Didn’t used to like Katherine Ryan at all, but I found her funny so it’s definitely changed my opinion of her. She’s isn’t super likeable but who gives a shit, it’s not her job. I didn’t come out actively hating her, and would be open to watching her in stuff in future. Bear Grylls on the other hand. Utter cunt.
  5. Yeah, and the benefit of PS Plus monthly games is that you know they’re not gonna be removed in a few months or whatever.
  6. Been going through the PSP library on InternetArchive and it’s just so great. Firstly it’s huge, and it’s full of Poundland versions of PS2 and PS3 games, which are really good but also a bit crappy. They do all have widescreen which is obviously great, plus there’s loads of licensed shite (every CGI animation released between 2004 and 2012 has a game on PSP), tons of racing games, some of the best RPGs ever made, the best golf ever made, and then crazy stuff like a Metal Gear Solid card game. It’s getting really easy to play through them because of how easy it is to emulate, and obviously the games being in widescreen look great on modern displays. Love it.
  7. Yeah, it’s another decent month. Biomutant is one of those games that looked really good, but didn’t review particularly well (6/7ish), so it’s perfect PS Plus fodder.
  8. Lovely *Cue 10 pages of bickering about whether it’s the best Star Wars film or an affront to humanity*
  9. Just finished the James Bond films XXL episode, which I really enjoyed. I’ve only seen a few of them so it was super interesting listening to their thoughts on each one. Agreed that Tomorrow Never Dies has an excellent theme. It’s one of my favourites, and hugely underrated. Love the big 90s vibes.
  10. It looks fabulous actually, apart from Chris Pratt of course. The world is gorgeous and colourful and all the characters look great. I really like Illumination films. They’re dumb as they come but they’re funny and full of slapstick, and kids love them. My 2 year old doesn’t give a shit about Pixar stuff yet, as it mostly aims for an older audience, but he laughs his head off at the minions.
  11. It does, but I think there are a fair number of people who love it already and will definitely chuck their hat in the ring for an upgraded model. I know I’ll be there day one for a OLED model, or one that isn’t the size of my fridge. And then there’ll be a new audience picking up the older ones for £150/200 second hand, and as more and more games get out of the box support it’ll be easier for the mainstream to get into it. It’ll snowball.
  12. In a few years, all Steam games will be made with a Deck mode with the graphics settings and controls all pre-configured by the developer. You’ve just got this initial period of relative hurt, mucking around with Proton and all that. It’ll be seamless in a couple of gens of deck hardware.
  13. Yeah, the 3DS is great. These games actually work really well in 3D - it’s fitting to play what looks like a little 3D diorama of a Zelda game in your hands.
  14. ^ Yeah, this is it. I loved it at the time on the TV - Motorstorm 3D Rift was magnificent - but it looks like everything is right there in your lounge, and like you’re driving a little RC car around a sand pit. 3D football looks like loads of tiny ants running around in your living room. No tech improvements will change that, and VR is definitely the next evolution of all this. Plus it had issues with cross talk (seeing parts of the opposite image in each eye), and flicker.
  15. I think I’ve had a quick go of the PS2 version, but I’ll have to check out the PSP one!
