(Disclaimer: I haven’t listened to the new pod yet, though I have read comments about it)
The main difference, I guess, is that before now it was recorded as live, and now it’ll be recorded and then edited. That’s the bit where a lot of podcasts fall down for me - it takes great skill to edit a piece of audio down but keep it sounding natural.

Yeah, I was excited about the 2D mode until I played it, then quickly switched back.
For some reason I thought you could just switch back and forth between them at will, but I was getting it mixed up with another game (Wonderboy, maybe?).

Can you play the 2d old school mode on the ps4 version? Did it get an update or is that dlc/ a switch only version?
Only the Definitive Edition, which is on PS4 too. It’s not available as an upgrade.0 -

The 4.5 edition is now on Netflix. Thinking a double bill tonight of this and......Chip N Dale.
Good spot! Is it a Netflix exclusive or something?8 minutes ago, Capwn said:How much new material is there? Is it just showing the new material or does it mix into the original?
The previous .5s have all been new footage, although none were quite as good as the main films (you could tell why they cut it out).

Rise of Skywalker is far from perfect and was a bit of a botch job script-wise, but worse than Attack of the Clones?? Absolutely no chance.
Yeah, absolutely this. AOTC is Cats-bad.0 -
@AK Bell Have you had no confirmation of customs charges etc then? Or do they deliver and then bill you afterwards? Not sure how it works these days.
I’m so close to ordering one, but those potential charges push it into ‘I can’t quite justify that’ territory.

I ordered Feb 18th so two months.
Really looking forward to your detailed analysis, particularly in DC/PS2/GC-era emulation. And also super jealous, of course.

Don’t listen to this advice. Everybody would be better off with having never seen episode IX.
It really is a load of shite.SpoilerBut still somehow better than all of the prequels.

Honestly, it’s pretty decent really. I have Plus and Now at the moment, but I never use the streaming (it’s shite), so £80 (minus whatever saving you get on Black Friday/using credit/buying a code online) for the middle tier is really good in my eyes. Like, 6 quid a month? I pay that for some Patreon subs.

If I currently have PS+ and PSNow does that convert to premium deluxe ultra alpha X? or just extra?
The top one, whatever the hell that’s called.1 -
Yeah, I mean, regardless of the outcome, it’s an interesting breakdown of the method from both sides.

That's all fine, except if Chelsea had still won then what? Suddenly this breakdown isn't a 'fact'.
So why did it take so long to settle the League cup final shootout? Did Klopp's tactics fail that it ended up down to the Keepers?
It's easy to say "That's the way you win" when you've won.
Penalty shootouts can still be entirely random - and you don't know how much pre-prep has gone into this.
If Liverpool had lost no doubt a breakdown based around a "He was too laid back and laughing" narrative suddenly becomes the truth.

Hadn’t realised there was a new Klonoa and it comes with the first two games as remasters. Klonoa 2 is an absolute gem.
Well, it’s only the first two games as remasters, not a ‘new’ Klonoa as such. But yep, Klonoa 2 is a marvel, and I’m so glad it’s getting remade. Very difficult to play otherwise.

Trust the process. It gets really good! One of the best Rpg of all time. All. Time!
I know, this is what I keep hearing! But the opening (< 20 hours) is so plain, it’s just hard to believe at this point. I’ll continue to crack away.0 -

One thing that hasn't settled for me yet is the difficulty. I started this time with the harder monsters setting turned on, and that was providing a good level of challenge for a while. Then I got to the King's Barrow dungeon and found I was just burning through MP and herbs trying to keep everyone alive, until I got killed by some robot chickens. I warped back to the church after that and turned off the harder monsters Draconian Quest thing, but now I'm one-shotting everything. Something in the middle would be ideal, where you're forced to engage with the different battle mechanics but don't have to grind in order to stay alive.
Can I turn hard mode back on again now that I've turned it off?
Yeah, totally agree. I restarted to play on the harder difficulty which made the regular battles a lot more fun, but when I came back to it recently a dungeon I played was crazy hard (unless you’re just meant to spam herbs? Which doesn’t sound fun), so I switched back to my easy save which was more or less at the same point.1 -
@Jamie John Pretty much same over here. I originally bought this for PS4, played for a few hours and got bored, picked it up on Switch (it would be better suited to a handheld, right?), played a few hours and got bored. Restarted on hard mode because maybe it was too easy, played a few hours and got bored. Sold the game.
I bought it again a few weeks ago because I felt like playing a cute JRPG, and carried on with my save (it does a great job of recapping the story). I’m about 10/11 hours in now, and getting a little bored again.
It’s odd, because on paper it’s my ideal game really. There are a few posts in here that suggest it doesn’t get going into 20 hours-or-so in, I think? Which is pretty ludicrous, but also makes me want to keep going.

I think FIFA branding will sell a game regardless of its quality which is exactly what FIFA themselves are betting on. Remember that football games are bought by a huge player base of non "hardcore" gamers who won't be clued up to the circumstances etc.
Nah, disagree with this. Even the ‘non-hardcore’ gamers will be aware of the change - whether it’s in an advert on their console or on a bus or some other way.You will get the odd gran buying this new FIFA for her grandkid though.

It’s quite astonishing that FIFA gets paid so much money for another company to essentially market their ’brand’. Without the games, most people would only hear about them during a World Cup or in a negative press article. And they were getting paid for that.
They had it so good and now they’ve totally fucked it.

Inventory Question
in Discussion
Posted
It works for some games, like Resident Evil, where carrying a limited amount of ammo and herbs feeds into the horror and tension. Other games will dish out inventory upgrades as a reward for reaching milestones, for better or for worse.
If you can’t think of a reason for it to be there then don’t include it, but you just need to consider a decent way to sort and keep track of what you’ve collected!
