    Dead Or Alive 4

No worries mate, as it turned out I had my best run so far so it's all good.

10 wins in a row, in DOA4, finally. Well actually, I'm on 11 wins right now, UNDEFEATED. This is one of my finest gaming moments, I'd like to thank.... I now have the shakes. A well deserved 25 points I feel.

I'll be on in about 5 - 10 mins for an hour or so. I'll add you mate.

Couldn't resist! Just for a couple of days like.
  5. I haven't even tried a DVD on mine yet so I don't know if this makes a difference but is his 360 set to 60Hz? If so try it on 50? *shudder*
  6. Mine does that too. I stopped using the guide button as much as possible in PGR because of it. That is rather shit. In general I have been pretty happy so far although it'll be interesting to see how smoothly the return process is. It seems to be pot luck as to the service and turn around on this. You've been without yours for about a month haven't you kerraig?

Cheers Andy. I'm sure I'll manage without it though. Maybe. You do have singularity protection built into the league though don't you? Just in case mate.

Hasn't been working for me today either. In other news I have to get my 360 replaced. I guess it'll give somebody else a shot at the top spot though! Edit: Can't call up Andy's home page either at the moment. Edit again: Hmm, I did notice a couple of days ago that we had almost a hundred people in the league. Maybe one hundred people was the critical mass, which now having been breached, has caused some sort of black hole/singularity that will now suck in the entire world? Duck and cover my friends, duck and cover.
  9. Mine is getting replaced. I bought my 360 on the 2nd December and right from the beginning it had faint, horizontally scanning, vertical lines on games and the dashboard. It's not noticable when the picture is light but very noticable on darker scenes. I'm fairly certain it is an earth shielding problem. Anyway I wasn't certain if it was the AV lead, 360 unit or even my TV. Borrowed a mate's 360 recently and it turns out it is the 360 itself, not the AV cable which was what I had expected. It made no difference if my hard drive was connected or not. The guy told me the box to return it would be delivered in 3 - 7 working days, to ignore the instructions that come with the box and send back just the HDD and console. No way am I sending them my hard drive though unless all my saves can be copied to a MU first? Does anybody know for certain if all game saves (PDZ, COD2, PGR3, DOA4, NFS:MW, RR6) can be copied to an MU and then used on another 360? Edit: You can copy most saves to an MU but not PDZ or DOA4.
  10. Have you started flinching when you get caught by a round yet? In time I learned to use the flinch to prone.

Ghost Recon AW Achievements: Heavyweight: Notch 10,000 kills overall online. Yeah, that's right. Ten thousand. Deadly: Get four kills in four seconds (read: grenade). Unyielding: String together thirty kills before dying. Falcon: Shoot down 100 helicopters overall online. Sniper: Put together 500 headshots overall online. Committed: Play for eight hours straight online—an aptly named achievement, I would say. Master of Ceremonies: Host at least 1,000 matches. World Champion: Be ranked first on the universal leaderboard. In other words, this marks the most difficult achievement yet in any game. Lifted from Xbox.com. Woah!

Just to try and further this thread a little more I would be interested to know which achievements people are proudest (in the loosest sense of the word) of and which ones they think are the cheapest on their list. Cool achievements: 1. COD2 - Veteran of D-Day. Hard to the supreme, I'm not a pad bouncer but this had me close a few times. Clearing the downstairs of houses was fine, the upstairs gave me nightmares! This level took me about two weeks to cpmplete. 2. DOA4 - All Costumes. Because you really haven't finished the single player game until you get all these right? Has probably caused the early onset of arthritis in my hands though. 3. PGR3 - Style Racer Badge. Getting all the Kudos moves in one race is cool. Naff achievements: 1. NBA Live 06 - All of them. Stupid points system that really makes a mockery of all the above. I'm ashamed to say I ended up swapping a win for a win online for one achievement. I tried to do it properly and played a few games but I would either lose (fair enough) or the other person would quit in the 3rd or 4th quater if it looked like I was going to win. 2. King Kong - All of them. Too easy, but then so was the game. 3. PGR3 - Rank 10. Although at the time it was my first 20 points, getting anything more than 5 points for completing ONE race is a little silly, no? Achievements I'm aiming for: 1. DOA4 - Grade B. I love this game to bits but if I'm honest my reactions and decision making are simply not fast enough to be really good at this game. At present I'm a borderline D+/C- player so getting upto a B would be lovely. 2. PDZ - 1000 Headshots. Everybody loves a headshot and I want a thousand of them. 3. PGR3 - All Golds. Haven't played this nearly enough recently though, must spend more time with it. 4. NFS:MW - Number 1 on the Blacklist - Great difficulty curve on this game and goes to show EA can implement points properly if they try. So what about you?

^ Same sort of thing happened to me on Condemned. Got some of the birds on the first playthrough and as I enjoyed the game so much decided to do a second run to get them all. I have the silver achievement for every chapter but not the one for collecting all the birds in the game! Why I didn't bother with the all reports at the same time I have no idea. Cheeko, especially for you I shall divulge my deepest, darkest gamerpoint whoring secret.... play games!! Edit: Who is ELPimpz who has stormed into 2nd spot?

EA sports games I agree with but all EA games is going a little far. Spent hours tonight clearing the second spot in Need For Speed and I tell you, it was not easy. Not clearing all costumes in DOA hard, granted, but certainly no NBA either. The sports titles seem to have just had the achievements added right at the end of the design process with little or no thought. Oh, and I just hit hit 7k! (6k without NBA ) Go me!
  15. Get them in the rbb house. It'll be great. And stuff.

Great work on the auto-updates lads. How often does it update? Me, sleep? Well, yes, occassionaly. Hey Nell, it's only a bit of fun, there are no prizes. I'm just lucky that I have had a lot of available time recently which is soon going to change due to work commitments.
  17. Woohoo! I am streaming music and photos to my 360 from my iBook. Just found a link to this on Major Nelson and knowing that a fair few people on rllmuk have Macs I though I would share the joy. CLICKY CLICKY Very simple install, I was streaming in less than 2 minutes. Enjoy.

No Kong achievements seem to be there. I think you might want to get rid of one of those profiles. And maybe play Kong again!

Do all/most sport games come with sim-mode these days? It's not something I have ever come across before. I can understand it in a Premier Manager style game but anything else, madness I tell thee. Dropped down to a D in DOA4 now. Edit: Actually doesn't Gran Turismo 4 have a sim mode? I only borrowed the game for a few days but I seem to remember it having such a mode and thinking it madness then. What ever will be next, maybe your local games emporium will offer a service where they actually play the game for you?

Ok, I can now testify as to how stupidly easy it is to get gamerscore points with an EA title. A mate of mine bought NBA Live over for me to borrow earlier and was going to give me a quick run through as I haven't played a basketball game since the days of the Megadrive, although, not that much has changed. Instead of showing me how to actually play the game though he told me to create a player, that netted me 20 easy points in about three minutes. Hmmm. Then he shows me simulation mode, not quite sure what the point of this is so far except that the fact that you can run through a whole season and play-offs in about five minutes. Oh and the computer does everything for you. We did this twice and managed to get four achievements totalling 525 points! Therefore, in less than twenty minutes and without playing a single game of basketball I managed to get 545 points. Crazy I tells ya. I have now played a couple of games of basketball and managed to add a further 10 points to my booty. It really is laughable as how easy this game gives up the goods, especially compared to DOA4 which is doing its best to remove all the skin from the ends of my fingers for every single point. Even Kong made you actually play the game where as with NBA Live it seems you can just put it into sim mode and let it do the work while you have a nice cuppa.

Yeah right, I need how to play with two first! The watch mode is aces though. Updated the links in the first post. Edit: just noticed, Pledgster is at positions 21 (twice) and 23.

Oh dear, my eye sight is not what it used to be, must be too much DOA! Yes, my point score sucks month must try harder! I feel a small breakthrough coming on DOA this afternoon though which should get me some points.
