  1. Nice to see you've still got Memoir 44 – I'm glad it went to a good home.
  2. I'd have liked to, but I'm afraid I haven't really got the time to devote to it at the moment.
  3. I used to play it a fair bit, but haven’t done so since about 1986 or so. I think it was probably my favourite RPG, back in the days that I still played them. It’s probably changed a bit since then.
  4. Some free print-and-play stuff from various publishers: https://boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/102823/covid-19-gaming-table-v-free-games-asmodee-osprey
  5. I'm only there at the weekend, but please don't let that change anything if you get enough people to play it tonight.
  6. I'd be up for that, if you do feel up to it.
  7. I've recently discovered Antimatter Dimensions, which is quite similar to Universal Paperclips. The link is to the browser version, but it's the Android version I've been playing. It's very confusing at first, but fine once you get familiar with it.
  8. I'm going, for the first time. I ended up missing jonnyalpha's meet last weekend due to a hospital appointment, so I'm really looking forward to it.
  9. With the changes (to the board, the rules, the cards etc) being permanent, and affecting subsequent games.
  10. I have to say that "sherry bombs" have long since been my favourite style, but I'm going to be giving Old Pulteney a try next time round.
  11. I’ve watched it all over the last week or so. It’s much better than I was expecting it to be.
  12. A while back, I toyed with the idea of making a custom Defender controller for Retropie. I got as far as pricing up the buttons and a Picade X-Hat from Pimoroni and bought some MDF, and I redrew the layout from http://www.arcadecontrols.com/images/defendcp.gif in Illustrator, but never got round to building it. Might go back to it at some point.
  13. I can fully understand that – it's not everybody's cup of tea.
  14. I'm not sure to be honest, but obviously tastes vary and everybody is different. Cardhu is pretty well-regarded though, and is a very typical Speyside.
  15. Besides the usual party game nonsense, have also managed to play: Root: Had quite a few games of this, with 2 and 3 players. Can be confusing at first, but once you get to grips with it, it's really engaging. Benefits from exploring it multiple times with the same group of players. Really looking forward to a 4 player game. Modern Art: Feels like there's not much to it at first, but is really thinky once you get into it. Great fun. Blitzkrieg!: Billed as "WWII in 20 minutes", but that's a bit of a stretch (it does play in 20 mins, but doesn't really evoke the feeling of a war game). Not bad, probably need to play it some more to appreciate it. Wingspan: Really liked this a lot, and the components are fantastic. Escape The Dark Castle: Enjoyable romp – you turn over cards that represent rooms in a castle you're trying to escape from. Mostly involves just rolling dice to fight monsters, but also has some elements of the "Choose your own adventure" books.
  16. I think this is one of the wrongest things I’ve ever read on the entire internet.
  17. Especially since they just found it lying around, down a hole that they’d randomly happened to fall into.
  18. I thought it was pretty good, on the whole. But I have some questions: How come they happened to be standing in the exact spot for the dagger outline to work? If it’s ancient dagger, how does it have the outline of the wreckage on it anyway? If Rey can hover, why does she have to make a perilous climb inside the wreckage? How come Palpatine is still alive after the Death Star blew up, and when did he have children? Why did the Star Destroyers all fall out of the sky at the end?
  19. Thanks for the heads up. Got a cracking bargain with Nusfjord.
  20. I noticed it on the Gameslore new releases page for next week, but I’d imagine it’s available from other places as well. https://www.gameslore.com/acatalog/PR_Awkward_Guests_Board_Game.html#SID=352
