  1. Oh man I love shit like that far, far too much.
  2. I've not gone through it yet, but this is what Skream put up last night. The vast majority of dubs and tracks made from 04-06- his best period. http://www.sendspace.com/file/2rgbv6 Beast.
  3. Jack sparrow and Ruckspin have a new project - Author. Heat incoming. http://soundcloud.com/j-sparrow/author-the-city-tec-052-album
  4. Ridiculous. I'd love to see Broken Note.. they seem to do a lot of the Ad Noisiam nights over Berlin way, but never come to London. Really old but great mixtape of theirs: http://electronicexplorations.org/the-show/086-broken-note/
  5. True that- he hasn't, and only plays halftime sets on special occasions- Outlook festival I was told he did, for example. I love the old Loafah stuff (Youngsta playing Goat Stare at FWD's 10th Birthday was just a little bit massive), but I prefer what he's doing with Swamp now.
  6. Blake sums it up well, I think.. what's frustrating is a lot of that stuff isn't really dubstep. It uses the name, but there's no weight to the bass- its all midrange- it just doesn't have any of that tension, space, depth and dread I associate with dubstep. There's a very good, but rather long, Loafah, Kryptic Minds and Martin Clarke chat here from '09 if anyone's interested: http://blackdownsoundboy.blogspot.com/2009/05/kryptic-minds-and-loefah.html Quite a good section:
  7. As far as the aggressive stuff goes, its always been Coki. I heard this tune reloaded at least 3 times at a DMZ: (Sorry for the youtube link) For more of what you've been listening to you want more of the figet house/glitchy electro house kinda stuff... Deadmau5 and Skrillex are much closer to that.
  8. Ha! I was just coming here to post this. Amazing giveaway for free.
  9. I'm not hearing the Ghostface..
  10. Loafah actually has a ridiculous list of unreleased stuff. No chance of seeing it come out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aW1LZbIYcE
  11. Some of those will never come out, such is life. There's distance tracks on there people have been after for quite a while! I should make a list of amazing dubstep tracks never to come out... I'd fucking love to see what Youngsta has hidden away. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w86GpxgfquY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ski3x3h1nQk Actually, looks like 'Swish' was released in June.. cancel that.
  12. Ha- nope- it's great. Much better than Youngsta's Rinse, which surprised me.
  13. There's still guys out there making interesting stuff- Kryptic Minds, Old Apparatus, Pinch, Goth-Trad on the subs side, then guys like 16bit, Reso and Kanji Kinetic on the more violent tip. I'll have a listen to the excision album, but I thought his shambhala tapes were a mess. The most interesting stuff I've been hearing out has a lot of influence from dubstep- but it's moved on. I'm talking stuff that's coming out on Swamp81, Modern Love, Night Slugs, and the kind of stuff Pearson Sound, Shackleton and Kode9 have been pushing out recently.
