There seems to be a troubling amount of Phoebe Waller-Bridge in that trailer for my tastes.

She's everywhere at the mo. Wasn't it drop the dead donkey or whatever that new show was that blew her up, ahh FLEABAG! I never saw them, just recent stuff and she's mildly annoying to me, but I don't know her enough from previous stuff to be annoyed, or notice her enough in current stuff to be annoyed. I feel it's on the negative trajectory though.

  2. I enjoyed the mystery's, and want to know more, and the action isn't bad, as it doesn't appear super high budget, but the show itself though is just a bit slow, and it's easy to get confused if you miss one piece of expository dialogue.

This is going to go the way of 99.9% of all sci fi shows with interesting ideas isn't it. In the bin, because they couldn't quite find the way.

  3. Considering the great efforts Cameron went to with the underwater filming, I'm expecting some ground-breaking water shit in this one. You can get a little glimpse of the seemingly photoreal water in this, but it's difficult to tell with the compression these trailers suffer. Youtubers can put out 4k60 videos, 2x a day, and Cameron can't put out a decent bitrate trailer...<_<

The Last Jedi was indeed very divisive, in that critics were split between 91% positive on one side, and 9% negative on the other. The film divided critics into one colossal majority of people who liked it, and a tiny majority of people who didn’t. This is divisive in the strict technical sense of the word.

Audiences were similarly split in two, in that they only sold 140,000,000 tickets which is just 2% of the world’s population. The vast majority of humans didn’t watch it at the cinema, which would explain why it only took in £1.4bn at the box office.

    Here he is again...

Yes yes, we get it, you love the last jedi. The rest of the world thinks it's shit, which is why it was retconned  BY THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE, in the following movie. The fact that was worse doesn't change that fact.

I think everyone’s VASTLY overstating how much of a visual improvement this is over the first. It’s clearly fucking not. There’s bugger all in that trailer that Cameron couldn’t or didn’t do in Avatar.

I think you are VASTLY overestimating the quality of the previous film. I recently watched the 4k HDR remaster of the original, and while it "holds up" impressively well considering it's 90% CGI, it doesn't really compete with a modern star wars, or...whatever the CGI has in store for us in this case, which you absolutely cannot see from a terribly compressed 720p upscaled to 1080p, down compressed for youtube trailer.
