Also while you're at it check out Sorrow - Dreamstone, it drops today but is around on other sources, this is well worth a purchase imo.

Mainly a heads up for Spainkiller but thought I'd just pop in here that Serato DJ is on sale for $99 from about $129 if memory serves correct.. worth grabbing if you were going to buy it soon anyway

Exactly what I found, if you don't have a massive music library you will struggle to match keys quite often (so I found at the time).

No of course not but what I'm getting at is mixing on a controller or CDJ's for that matter, is far more accurate than using vinyl because it's digital. You don't get any drift in pitch like you can do on decks and flicking the platter on a controller is far easier than adjusting on a deck, certainly for noobs like me anyway! I never use sync, it's a bad idea for many reasons; one is it locks the pitch for both decks so if you want to make small adjustamansts you cant. One thing I did try doing when I first got my controller last summer as using them just like vinyl, e.g. dropping the track by holding the platter and letting go; after a while I realised that using cue points is way easier and makes for much faster mixing. I was taught the basics on decks by friends you see, then after a little while I got a controller and taught myself further. As for mixes, I have a mix up on my Soundcloud (link in sig) although it's probably not your cup of tea as it's all 140

I could just tell by the shape for some reason! I use a Reloop Terminal Mix 2 with Serato DJ (upgraded from intro) and it is flawless for what I use it for. Most folks I know use Serato in some shape or form hence me learning using that, it just works which is obviously what you want. Having just read back a few pages I can completely understand why some folks are getting their knickers in a twist about some of your comments. I found some of my friends who mix with decks frowned upon me buying a controller but I didn't have the funds or room for decks etc. The only issue is (IMO) it really does take the need to beat match away because it's digital the pitch doesn’t drift so once it's locked or if you drop from a cue point perfectly you are in - no messing. Then again, as someone mentioned earlier choosing the right tunes is a large factor in being a "good" DJ, due to the ease of mixing on a controller it does open up for more creativity when you are still a noob. If you need any tips or whatever I am more than happy to help or suggest some bits, I don't mix DnB though mainly deep dubstep so maybe the way I mix is probably not what you will be wanting to learn P.S neurofunk, lol.

Loefah and Silkie tunes are pretty slick, I felt Dubstep went a bit down hill for quite some time but I've been happy with a lot of releases in the second half of 12 and so far in 13, good stuff

  15. Is anyone here into bvdub? He's released yet another album and I bloody love it, he's more along the lines of dub techno but I would very much put it in the ambient slot too. If you haven't heard him before check him out; The Art of Dying Alone and One Last Look at the Sea are my favorite albums for sure. His music isnt the sort you give a quick listen you have to sit down and let it play all the way though

Slowly getting my interest in DnB back, can anyone recommend some sweet tracks? Had a bit of a dig around tonight and found these which I like. I'm really out of the loop when it comes to new releases though. Cause4Concern - Lowlife Enei - Centrifuge Decimal Bass - Iz Enei - The Moment feat. DRS Nymfo - Floating Point
