He was tactically out-thought in the first half I thought. By the time it was corrected in the second half, they were 2-0 down and being booed by home fans. This team is so incredibly mentally fragile, any set back and they're on the floor. Being 2-0 down at half time wouldn't have been a reason to bet against United sides in the past, or Liverpool and City these days. You can tell he's been trying to work on their confidence, but it was telling how quickly it broke. As a fan I felt the same way, the optimism for the season went in record time, and these guys are living it.

Chelsea is a much more attractive option in a lot of ways, I guess we'll see how much he values working under Ten Hag. United is a huge career gamble for a player of that level approaching their prime. The fact there's even a small chance that he may have signed for United is basically because of the weird unique circumstances.
  3. Update: it's been plugged in for ~3hrs now and the screen just popped into life! Very bizarre, I hope the battery is ok, i'll keep an eye on it.

Kessie is an interesting one, he was at one point fairly vocal about wanting to play for United. (admittedly, the shit show has been through some more acts since then!) https://www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11863/11268715/ac-milans-franck-kessie-dreams-of-joining-man-united

Might have to Dutch his name up a bit to get Ten Hag interested.
  6. I've had mine for a couple of days now. When I put it down last night it was at full charge, but not plugged into power, just left on my desk. Today I can't get it to turn on at all, it's totally unresponsive. I've had it plugged in for about an hour and it's still unresponsive. Is there a trick i'm missing or should I speak to Panic?

He seems pretty similar to Rashford.

Whatever the club are doing, from the outside it seems like they're in a wild panic.

He was the Dutch Footballer of Year last season. Seems a good investment if they can get him for £35m as touted, given his age and profile. He predominantly plays on the left, or has done at PSV anyway.

Yeah! I was a little taken aback (but not really) people as a whole seemed to be totally cool with Ronaldo coming back for that reason alone.

Various places reporting United have pulled out of the Arnautović deal due to the amount of fans writing in to complain about the man.... It should not have come to that! Best bit of business United have done in about 10 years in not hiring this piece of human garbage.

Started the window thinking Frenkie De Jong and Darwin Nunez. Ending the window trying to convince Rabiot's mum that he'd love to play with daft racist Marko Arnautović. This club is proving there are still levels to stoop to.

It's going to take time for sure, but it's another recruitment failure that Ten Hag has started the season without the two most important signings he wanted in central midfield and striker. He probably won't be getting them either, at least the ones he wanted. As always, it comes back to the owners interfering with the football side of the club. If Ten Hag succeeds at United, it'll be despite the club. (Depending on what you grade success as - to the Glazers it's solely Champions League Football ).
  14. Wow... that's... just wow.

As for other areas, I'd love to see Hannibal stay with the first team, but he's got 2-3 starters to compete with. He hasn't really impressed in pre-season. A disappointment I think, so will probably get a Championship loan? I'm surprised Laird is getting loaned, you can tell ETH doesn't want to use AWB, and I think AWB knows that - he seems checked out. Laird has had some good contributions in pre-season and I think would be a better option behind Dalot this season. I guess they might have a plan to sign a new RB and sell AWB, but I highly doubt the club will be able to do that. Elanga will stay of course, because they're so light up front. I'm not super excited by him, but I feel like ETH might be able to use his energy effectively as a sort of Lingard style pressing forward. A good squad player, but needs an upgrade with some craft really. When Sancho has missed games pre-season they've created nothing on the right and become lopsided again. I can see why ETH wanted Antony. Garnacho is seriously exciting! I think this kid could be really big, hopefully at United! He has to stay and be the LW rotation behind Rashford. Hopefully they'll actually get around to offering him a contract.
