Cyberpunk 2077 - PS5 and XSeries versions out now + major patch
Talk Show Host replied to Vemsie's topic in Discussion
I agree with most of these but I must also say that we seem to be more demanding of this game than others. On one hand justifiably so, based on the hype. On the other though it borders to unfair. In this state of the game, the city, for example, is no more shallow than any other open world game. NPCs in open worlds behave the same as here more or less, traffic does crazy things in all games and the amount of stuff you can do is at least equal to Rockstar's efforts or CD's own W3. Where RDR2 has the open world activities, this has a vast number of side quests. So, calling it shallow is a stretch. The design of the city, the world building, the attention to detail is second to none. It is beyond belief sometimes. Combat and game styles is a combination which really caters for many tastes, all this in an open world. Is it a true sandbox? No, but it is close. Comparing it to Deus Ex is also unfair because Deus Ex was never tasked with simulating an entire city with this many districts and a huge cast while keeping the design realistic. Everything in Deus Ex is gameplay hubs, nothing makes sense design wise if you think of it as a real city. And frankly, the gameplay in this is much more fun the way it is now. And more important, it is trying something different and, after a year and a half, it is stable enough to show its qualities. Compared to something as predictable as Forbidden West, this feels like a breath of fresh air in how it combines/tries to combine many of its gameplay styles. As for the story, characters, writing and detail, it is astonishing to me how effortlessly everything unfolds, especially in first person. It may not be the second coming we were promised but it is pretty damn close - and from a company which has only made three games before. If it wasn't for the corporate fuckup and it was released in this state now, I have a feeling we would all be much more inclined to accept its revolutionary moments. And no, I am not talking about its atrocious menu design. -

Yes, I really do not know what this aim acceleration is all about, I have disabled everything as well. On the really negative side of things, I do not understand why we can't turn off the trail on the mini map (or have it dynamic or a bar), stop the camera from automatically recentering when driving or why can't we have a font size that is readable for the couch or why we can’t turn off world icons etc…Whole UI seems designed for the PC and it is really frustrating this day and age. Other than that, I really think only one or two developers do story telling and natural dialogue and worldbuilding like CD. The level of writing -especially for such a huge cast- is stellar. -

Any suggestions on how to proceed with the main/side balance? Do some of them affect the main story? -

It really is. Someone said earlier fps tanks in Lizzie's. I'm not sure what was that about. Game was fine, not a single drop. Watched a video which shows what the RT mode brings, there's tons of things that get shadows and that is why the world feels so much grounded and "full". As for the world itself, its an unparalleled achievement. It feels so much like a real world. After trying HZDFW for some hours, it felt so "gamey", so flat. -

Does anyone know why I always have a dot in the middle of my screen even when I disable crosshair in the menu? I was under the impression it wasn’t there before. -

I just don’t get why the UI text size options are so limited. It’s just uncomfortable to read for couch gamers. It’s so frustrating. -

Probably not going to do any hardware upgrades as well, with stadia going under. So, it’s series x then for me. -

Yeah, of course, I was talking about the jerkiness and camera stutters people have been talking about. Thankfully input lag won’t be a problem as well, since I have found when people complain about it in other games, it’s not a big issue for me. -

I know 60fps is of course smoother but some of the posts here make it sound totally unplayable at 30fps. I haven’t load it up yet of course but this video looks fine in my eyes? Hopefully it will be ok when I try it as well, (at least for my eyes). -

I thought the Stadia version was akin to a super PC levels of performance and will always be better than anything the consoles produced? -

I’m wondering how is this on Stadia now? I don’t want any graphical compromises but I can’t afford a pc atm. I have a 500/500 line. Will it be glitchy? Stuttery? Full of artifacts etc? -
Guardians of the Galaxy (2021) - It's really Groot!
Talk Show Host replied to Vemsie's topic in Discussion
This is something special. Storytelling, writing, direction, characterization, it is up there -if not better- with any industry heavyweights. The writing and acting particularly is movie level quality. Fast, witty, emotional, wow… Also, it looks incredible in quality mode (Series X) and is perfectly playable with 30fps (they feel quite smooth). Battle system is fun and can be quite tactical, especially when you tweak some settings. Leave difficulty on normal but put enemy damage on high and raise cool downs (I have them on 1.3). -

Any clue on the differences of quality and performance mode? I’ve read performance mode takes a big hit graphically but quality can’t maintain steady 30 fps? -

Being playing this for some hours now. Got it on PC and used the ini settings for eliminating pop up (there’s one for NPCs now as well). Man, what difference does it make to see the world solid. A very beautiful game. I am surprised at how nice the world building is and the ideas around it seem well thought out. Huge amounts of banter between characters which makes everything much more immersive. I am going back and forth between Japanese and English VO. I prefer Japanese but there’s so much context banter that I have to read during play that it will be a mess when more characters appear. Any thoughts? Also, it’s buttery smooth at 1440p maxed out and the combat is really great (when you understand what’s going on). -

I tried the demo and the world literally pops in into existence all over the place. Rocks, grass, bushes, NPCs… Enemies seem fine. -

Only for the environment. NPCs seem to be hardcoded and there’s no ini setting for that. It’s an embarrassment and I was really looking forward to the game, especially considering the improvements in story, characters etc. -

The pop in is the main thing keeping me from buying it actually. It is unacceptable. Is it really that bad? -
See if anything’s weird with sensitivities in the controls. Put everything on default again. There has been issues with planes pulling left and right too much on a runway since the PC launch. But it also may be the wind.😬
-
Does anyone have issues with the autopilot going haywire at random points? For example, everything going ok and then the plane suddenly turns left completely for no reason. I have seen some complaints about it but not sure if it has something to do with the full realism settings in using or control sensitivity etc. I’m flying the Diamond DN40.
-
I’m having a weird bug (?). When I press LB+Dpad to go at close view of the cockpit and then cursor mode to click on instruments, it also affects the yoke when I move the circle. So I can’t really use cursor mode, unless I use free cam to look closely and interact with the cockpit.
-
That would be great. Hopefully it will happen at some point. For a game so close to realism it has an embarrassing lack of guides or ways to receive help in game. Having someone as a digital instructor seems such a missed opportunity.
-
Thanks a bunch :). Will start checking them soon, as there’s so many different ones.

This is one of the things I am having difficulty grasping my head around for some reason and Squirrel's tutorial really doesn't provide information around it. He also goes into a straight flight path so I don't understand how to set up the auto pilot to follow my custom waypoints. Is there any tutorial more specific on how to use CDI heading and auto pilot?
