Mate, look into Clone Hero if you don't know about it, it'll work on that. Back in 2020 I invested loads in RB kit, adapters, RB drums, Alesis edrums, multiple sets of RB cymbals, guitars, probaby abut £1.5k in total (I know) and these days I only play CH which, aside from the edrums and a midi cable, is totally free. TBH the amount of music and features is insanely high too and it's a cool overall package for any lovers of GH/RB. I've finally got my head around it all so hit me up if you need any advice I actually play ScoreSpy mostly which is Clone Hero with online leaderboads for my 6300 song library! Regarding the bass pedal it took me about 1.5 years of playing daily to really get super comfortable with it. I mean, I improved regularly and was able to do harder and harder stuff but recently I've really cracked on and I have huge ammounts more control now, which is awesome and allows me to give anything a proper go. In other news I've moved my crash (green) over to the left hand side now, something I wanted to do for ages. TBH it required a small amount of retraining the brain but doesn't appear to have been too challenging and now it's more akin to a typical drum setup and it just feels more proper so to speak.

I've only ever used CH with my Alesis Surge kit, not RB drums, so can't offer nay advice there but you could look into Rock Band 2 Deluxe or Guitar Hero 2 Deluxe.. They're basically modded versions of those games that run via PS3 Emulator on PC and allow custom tracks and alsorts of modding in to the actual RB and GH games...

You definitely can drum but drum support is only in the public test build (PTB). Did you find the repository of all the GH and and RB tracks ever released on disc and dlc? Check out frets on fire, C3 and Chorus for tons and tons of custom made tracks too. To make it look nicer you can load highways, backgrounds and basically change any element of the game you don't like, it's awesome Oh and check out Scorespy, it's a version of Clone Hero and it includes drum support as well as global leaderboards for every single track, custom or otherwise.

Crikey, don't have notifications on for this thread and didn't realise peeps were still posting. I'm stiill playing Clone Hero every day (well, ScoreSpy to be precise).. I'll try and get a video or 2 uploaded as I'm now super sick at Expert Pro Drums haha! Play Clone Hero and import all the custom Beatles stuff for a massive catalogue. The ther huge bonus is that everything is charted for Pro-Drums
  5. Good timing, I got an FC (Full Combo) on Clone Hero Expert drums playing Little Black Submarines by The Black Keys yesterday and that was a pretty standout moment for me. Probably one of the best feel good moments I've ever had in gaming tbh See for yourselves here, song starts at 1.15 ish and the intro finishes at 2.15 ish.

If its mainly to play CH I'd suggest the Alesis nitro mesh. Mesh heads are awesome and sound best playing along to CH but the drum brain on the Yamaha is superior so as an actual drumkit it's probably a little better.

I'm using an Alesis Surge which is pretty decent although I've upgraded my foot pedal and replaced the snare with the white one (it's identical, the only difference is the white vs black).

I'd be interested in the PRO guitar if it's still available mate? In other news, I've been meaning to start doing some videos of my drumming on Clone Hero and although the editing is particularly rough around the edges (and has a watermark) I appear to have managed to do it. For anyone who is interested you can see me playing Jon Bon Jovi here - I am intending to do a video for all 157 Beatles tracks I have on CH but also happy to do any requests There's 4600 odd tracks so everything from the full RB and GH catalogue (DLC and disc) is there

I'm still playing Expert Pro Drums daily on my Alesis Surge but I'm mainly on Clone Hero now. To be honest I prefer the calibration and drum mapping of Clone Hero to RB, and there's the small matter of me having 4k songs on there now too Mad to think back to March last year when I decided I needed to get back in to Rock Band, all the money I spent on RB drums and cymbals, guitars, an ION rocker and then my Alesis Surge, oh and masses of DLC bought or doubled up on (moved from PS to Xbox) and in the end I'm playing Clone Hero for free with nearly every track ever released, with drum support, for every RB and a ton of GH's and 1500 mostly awesome customs. Wish I'd known about it to start with but hey ho, I'm still having a blast and it's safe to say my drumming has gotten significantly better. Might do a few videos if anyone's interested? It'd be interesting to know my playtime stats, I've played it for 1 to 3 hours most days for over a year and a half (still nowhere near bored of it, it's crazy..). I urge people to check out Clone Hero if they haven't but its not super straightforward, particularly drum support which isn't in the official release on their website) so lmk if you need any pointers. \m/ Edit - Oh and I have played so much I've broken 2 foot pedals completely, burnt right through the rubber on my hi-hat cymbal to the plastic underneath, totally snapped the metal pole of my throne so it's totally unusable and upgraded the bass drum and my snare to more expensive components because of wear and tear

I'll have a go at this later (hopefully) PDogg UK
  11. Hadn't really thought about doing that, nice one mate
  12. Not sure how long for but I'm in the top 20 of the weekly Rivals challenge at Brands Hatch, woop woop. In all honesty I don't think it's a particularly fast time (1.33 something) but the competition appears to be incredibly poor (which I'm thankful for haha). One annoying thing is that I can't improve my time because for some reason they impose a maximum of 30 attempts on a week long challenge, that seems very odd to me when I want to keep playing it!
  13. If performance is similar or better on whatever system you're on then I'd say that's a great price for the game and the sp. It's nice to be able to finally race around the tracks in PC, there are so many after all, but I've just never ever been able to find a workable control solution on either of the previous versions of the game (I have a G29 too) so I've barely seen any of them. PC3 just feels great, partifularly on controller, and despite the lack of depth of all the settings vs PC1/2 it's infinitely more playable and fun. I didn't like Dirt 5 in any way either, I bought it cheap but it was so terrible, like the worst bits of every terrible Dirt game put together. Codemasters would do very well to just let SMS guys create the games moving forward and just offer their resources. Can't see that happening though.
  14. Picked this up a few weeks back and I'm massively suprised considering the negativity on release! Tbh this fits the bill for nearly everything I want and in some ways it reminds me of Driveclub which is a huge compliment as thay's one of my favourite games of all time. Pad and wheel support are superb (tinkering with settings in PC1 and 2 completely ruined them both), audio is excellent and the car and track list is obviously immense. Tons of customisation options, liveries etc.. and I'm a sucker for Rivals events with the daily/weekly/monthly challenges. I'm wondering if the screen tearing would be less if I were to upgrade from my X to a series X though, anyone got any experiences? I actually keep hovering over the Season Pass buy button as I got the game cheap, in reality it's pretty terrible value but the extra single player Driveclub-a-like tours are tempting me. Shame it doesn't have single player leaderboards or have I missed those? Either way I'd recommend this to anyone if you can accept the tearing. I mean, the graphics are more than passable (although photo mode is weak) and in hot lap mode, which is predominantly what I play, it's mostly smooth and decent to look at.
  15. Nice one dude, thanks, that was easy enough! I didn't really need or want this but for £20 you can't grumble.

I hear you dude, played it fanatically back in the day but got back into it during the first lockdown and play an hour at least every day, usually more. I have real drums in my office too but I just find myself always drawn to play Rock Band. Rock on.

Really awesome to see activity in here - I'm still just playing Rock Band 3 on my Alesis Surge Mesh kit, I haven't played 4 for a while or I'd try and contribute. I'm just working my way to playing all my favourite customs and ( and dlc from the 360) on Expert, I'm up to about 15 or so FC's now (out of 850 haha)

    Rock Band 4

Hi Fused - I bought one recently for the 360 for £60 (new) from eBay and it came within a day, I thought that was a result!! Another update in the ongoing saga that is getting back in to Rock Band in a big way - I've since bought an Alesis Surge and I'm selling the ION Drum Rocker, which allows me to have a proper ekit for when I am unable to play my acoustic set as well as use it in RB 360. Loving the Surge, the mesh heads are awesome but the drum sounds aren't as good as they could be. Still, decent for the price. I also bougth the midi adapter as I said above and I was looking for a RB2 wireless kit so I could take it apart and use the brain to connect my Alesis to RB4 without the £750 PDP adapter (using Roll Limitless - www.rolllimitless.com) but I ended up buying RB3 wireless drums by accident (albeit with the 3 cymbal expansion), and these don't work in the same way so aren't much use to me. I now have 3 wireless 360 kits (2 x beatles, 1 RB3) and 2 x RB3 3 cymbal expansions. FFFFFFUUUUUUU, should propbably sell it all but might well keep most of it in case something breaks. Still, I have established that I can buy a lot of DLC for RB3 on the 360 and use my eKit with proper charts (as opposed to the awesome, but ultimately not official customs, and the poor RB3 on disc music) and get the RB4 version free to use with one of my 2 full pro setups (RB Drums and Cymbals). It's a shame I didn't realise to buy DLC on 360 if possible before I laid down on a ton of stuff for the Xbox One that isn't then free on the 360. TLDR - Rock Band is a massive awesome headache and I still can't use my shiny new eKit on RB4 because people are asking for £750 for the adapter that would have been $10 back in the day. My missus hates me as my house is full of Rock Band stuff and actual drum kits.

    Rock Band 4

Been meaning to come back in with an update of where I've come since early May when I decided to get back into Rock Band - So, I now own the following; 360 and Xbox One: Mad Catz Legacy Adapter 2 x Rock Band Beatles wireless drums - 1 x RB3 3 Pro Cymbal pack of 3 cymbals which make the game 10 times better! Wireless Hofner Bass from Beatles RB (good but too long) Wireless Rickenbacker from Beatles RB (Incredible) Rock Band mic x 3 (1 has built in controls which is really useful) 360 only Wired Fender Precision Bass - very limited numbers of this and it's pretty awesome but ultimately a bit of a showpiece more than anything Rock Band Keyboard - bought this when it came out but coudn't get along with it and struggling again as it's such a headfuck Rock Band 2 ION Drum Rocker with 2 x cymbals - Aaaaaaaamazing!!!!111!!! Xbox One only Rock Band 4 Fender Jaguar - Beautiful and super easy to play but more like a toy that any other RB guitar On the software side Rock Band 1, 2, 3 (with 500 customs) and RB4 with 150 paid for DLC's so far. RB ACDC, Green Day, Beatles and RB Lego Think I might have to stop now hahaha, this shit has cost me a small fortune but I love it all and I'm just working at improving my drumming across some of the amazing customs available for RB3. Mostly trying to play GnR, Arctic Monkeys and Metallica on expert. If anyone wants a set of wireless drums for 360/xbox one (needs an adapter) then hmu. \m/

I dunno man, initially I was like that, I was genuinely gutted when I first tried one and realised that's how most of them work, I switched it off hugely disappointed and then went on a download spree of only the multitrack tunes. Then last night I had another go on a load of the non-multitrack customs and had a blast, if you set a difficulty that means you don't miss as many ie: hard iinstead of expert, then I found I I actually didn't really notice it. I mean, it makes a noise if you hit the wrong note or strum at the wrong time which helps and my wife remarked she enjoyed it more because she could just listen to the song without important notes not sounding when I screw up. Not ideal but more than acceptable in my opinion, considering the library on offer.

Update on my continued Rock Band revival and it's fairly significant and epic - Pro Drums and CUSTOM SONGS (OMG!!!!11!1), LOADS OF CUSTOM SONGS. Found a 3 cymbal RB3 pack and wireless beatles drums set for £100 to go alongside the full Beatles Rock Band kit I bought (basically new) fror £150, and the cymbals really do add another dimension and makes the kit look awesome too. Loving it. I also got myself a 360 (With Rb Green Day, Beatles and AC/DC as well as RB1 and 3) and on looking into 3 a little more I found it was super easy to run customs on the 360 and sure enough it was a piece of piss and I now have a huge setlist of incredible content. Eveything is authored and created with real care and passion and is incredbly fun to play with a MASSIVE variety amongst the thousands of customs available - I had no idea this was a thing but I'm super glad I do now. Incredible scenes and well worth jumping back in if peeps can get up and running on RB3 on 360 easily enough.

Bit the bullet and sourced a new legacy adapter and a basically new Xbox 360 Beatles band set for £260 which felt decent even though it's clearly expensive, there should be resell in both though so that helped justify it. My first RB on XBox and now I'm set I'm hoping to buy all the 360 games so I can play the whole series again on 360 alongside RB4 on the One with the same instruments. The driver behind my recent obsession with getting back into RB is my 6 year old daughter who is mad about RB4, like I used to be with everything up to RB3. Seeing her singing There's No Other Way while I'm on the guitar is awesome and it's an experience I never had before as my wife and i never used to sing or even play multiplayer, it was usually just me playing. It genuinely is a fantastic party game and perfect for our blossoming gaming partnership (she legit beat me on Mario Kart for the first time not long ago!). Since RB first came out I've started playing real drums too so this will be an opportunity for my daughter to get her head around some the concepts before she uses my kit for real. It's been a totally overpriced headfuck to get to where I am again now but I'm pleased I did it. I've had to move from my previous RB dlc, instruments and game exports on ps3 (basically i had everything you could export) because i stopped using my PS4 on account of how loud it is, and the whole thing has set me back the best part of 500 but it feels like a new experience again and that's really nice after all those years of Rock Band loving and subsequent years where I forgot all about it. Tl;dr I needed RB in my life and it's not a cheap game to have a sudden desire to play on a new system but very happy to be up to date.

Guys, really long shot but does anyone have a legacy adapter for Xbox that they'd be willing to let go of for a semi reasonable sum? Failing that an Xbox One drum kit or band in a box they want rid of? I know it's very unlikely but any help hugely appreciated. Thanks.

Joking aside, I can't see us losing tbh. Maybe we'll see Dier take a staring role on Saturday too, JM is a big admirer.
