  1. Imagine being an actor and having to go to one of those cons and pretend to like the braying, hooting crowd of spergs.
  2. What's annoying is when Bruce Willis gets involved as Rache's boyfriend. So in that episode where they watch Die Hard twice in a row, who was the actor? If it's Bruce Willis then they should be remarking on how similar Rachel's latest BF is to Bruce Willis.
  3. Haha he's chilling in Hawaii with his Ferraris. Maybe that's were your shenmue coins would really go?
  4. Okay I went back about 7 pages but I don't see any classic clippa. C'mon, help me out here.
  5. Can somebody link to the promised clippa freakout from the ban topic in A&F? 75 pages is a lot to trawl through.
  6. kernow you're coming across like a Q reader.
  7. I like a lot of VG music but one problem I have with it is that a lot of it is designed to be listened to for an indefinite amount of time, so I always feel that the tension and release and other rhythms don't work so well. That's a good tune though.
  8. Reboots are uncreative and lazy and terrible. If the story can't continue within its existing universe then it shouldn't be attempted. Han and Leia not having got together would be fantastic, which is why it isn't going to happen. These films will be utter shite. Quote this in 3 years!
  9. I reckon he is just trying to keep RM from getting carried away with this and the wins against barca.
  10. Well nothig will match his seventies output but it's still really really good Bowie.
  11. The first half is a bit patchy but the last 3/4 songs are totally amazing.
  12. Pop music from Japan. J-pop. That's all. You don't need to start getting snobby about imagined stratas of elitism.
  13. I don't have time for people who write off entire genres of music. Much like the guys holding the elephant, it's all different parts of the same thing.
  14. J-pop is a much-maligned genre but like any genre it has its good with its hilariously bad. I try to listen to everything so it's wasn't entirely unfamiliar to me, but last year I was roped into doing a DJ set and I went with a 50/50 hip hop/J-pop theme and so I had to listen to loads of it. Here's what I think is genuinely brilliant: Aira Mitsuki: Her music is incredibly creative and I think the production gives it a much deeper sound than the sci-fi-bubblegum-school-girl themes first suggest. Check out the start to this live performance: And this was her first single: But I think this is her best tune: (Knee-high girl - still looking for a vid) This is amazing too. I looped the synthy bit from 27 seconds on over and over again and it sounded sick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJQkNtTY4pg&feature=player_detailpage&list=PLCF2B073831EE9077 Then you have the all-conquering Perfume whom everybody sort of knows. Here's an example of an old classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0TsYNUZV1w But I think that this is their greatest older tune: Perfect for a bracing Sunday morning drive on a colourful expressway, or listening to at the hairdressers while you take in the intoxicating beauty product fumes. This is from their newest album: Capsule have been around for yonks. Here's a great example of something from one of their newer albums. It's a lovely little tune. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSQo2KPQtdQ Here's a slightly older one: Here's Maki Goto: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GQ0T6xmJgk The funniest/most disturbing thing about this is the bit in the official video where she's smoking a fag prompted online outrage that this Yamamoto Princess had dared foul her body. Reason no. 197234 that J-pop has such a bad rep. And that's the main problem with J-Pop - it's a bit like metal in that i) the videos are always terrible ii) a lot of people into it refuse to listen to anything else and iii) this creates a situation where if you say you enjoy it you either get judged as some terrible weeb or you get molested by the person you're talking to who's just revealed himself/herself as a terrible weeb. But the genre has a lot to offer! I hope this post convinces at least 1 person of this, and perhaps people can post some of their favourites? Rule: no AKB48. Please don't make this into a pedo-post.
  15. Anybody know where I can get a decent bitrate MP3 of the extended mix of One More Time? I can't find it on iTunes.
  16. This album is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.
  17. Saves me from constantly hitting replay.
  18. I love the way the logo wobbles a bit.
  19. Fukken lol. Somebody post the thing about REdknapp and his Dubai adventure. I can't find it!
  20. Man, as soon as he started singing I started grinning.
  21. He is the best world builder though. I love it in IT when he goes on a 70 page tangent about how the glass corridor in the village library was built or something like that.
