  1. Plastic dinosaurs, both are fun. Whatevs
  2. Some films we watched recently All the classic Herbie films Lots of the Ray Haryhausen films (Jason and the Argonauts, Sinbad, Land that time forgot etc) Police Squad/Airplane/Naked Gun series (the risque parts go over their heads) Last Starfighter Goonies Tron
  3. I got confused by that at various times. I had to scroll back through the ep to figure it out. This other, rather similar-looking, bridge-crew member with black hair seems to have appeared in the last couple of episodes. But the blonde one one (google tells me she's called Lt. Nilsson) is still there too. Does anyone know the name of the one with dark hair?
  4. Hey, I think you're looking for a different thread. This is the Discovery Hate-Watch thread
  5. Watched it all now and rather enjoyed it. Unsubtle political allegory, but a good 'wartime resistance' movie.
  6. It was a bit dark, murky yellow for me. I switched to the non-HDR version. But my cheap Sammy is a bit rubbish for some HDR.
  7. This is out on Netflix now (in Sweden at least). Enjoyable first 10 minutes so far. The fact the UK cinematic release was cancelled doesn't fill me with hope though.
  8. Over Xmas I unboxed my old dvd collection that we haven't looked at since we moved here six years ago. Loving going through some old classics and, surprisingly, finding it much easier to choose something to watch than we do on streaming services. And the upscaled DVDs look better on our TV than I expected then to!
  9. I definitely get some Idris Elba vibes from him, in looks and intensity. It's not just the Black British guy in sci-fi thing. He's nothing like, I dunno, John Boyega or Noel Clarke for example. Maybe a bit Paterson Joseph though, from when he was in Survivors.... Not so much from Peep Show though
  10. The GPD XD Plus while being old now is still one of the best for N64 and DC. A bit overpriced but nicely made. Powkiddy X18 is a slightly cheaper (in all aspects) alternative that still does well.
  11. Looks like the one I bought from Argos close to 20 years ago. It was good
  12. Blimey, never even knew there was a cinema in Cinderford. Just remember this place in Coleford. Still sad the old Roxy cinema closed down in my home town of Ross. I saw Empire Strikes Back there and I think it closed not long after. https://www.ross-on-wye.com/images/places/ross/entertainment/roxy/FrntFacade8.jpg
  13. Coleford? Is that still open? Grew up in Ross in the 80s/early 90s and used to go there a lot. Assumed it would have closed years ago!
  14. If only the rg351 had a 4:3 screen rather than the 3:2 screen. So close... So close...
  15. The cello music. It is going to be the bsg 'all along the watch tower', isn't it?
  16. I was chatting with my wife about this and trying to explain my annoyance at Burnham being Space Jesus. She didn't get it and just said "Isn't it obvious that she is some super important character to the universe and will be revealed to be that, sooner or later?". Have to admit that I hadn't considered that. Maybe it is intentional... Maybe she is Space Jesus....
  17. Burnham's staring-eyes/trembly-lip acting should be a drinking-game trigger (like the Picard uniform-tug or Riker's reverse-chair sitting). We'd be wasted after a few episodes!
  18. Man-made AI-upscales are just around the corner, I imagine. There have been plenty of test scenes now. Whole episodes must be coming soon.
