  1. I'm really looking forward to their heavy handed discussion of the politics/culture war of the early 21st Century... Probably the whole season will be about that. Yay. Who knows, maybe Picard will prevent World War 3 and the 'post atomic horror' that was supposed to happen in our time period (according to encounter at farpoint).
  2. Phew. The first review I came across was the Indiewire one and, since I hadn't seen any of the positive ratings, I got very worried. Phew!
  3. Nice, AK Bell! Your kid will be happy I have a Pocketgo S30 on the way, which I'm looking forward to modding an tinkering with, then also passing to my daughter to play some of daddy's old fashioned games on
  4. Pop on some custom firmware. It smooths out the imperfections and also makes it simpler to use, with a nicer UI. https://www.google.com/amp/s/retrogamecorps.com/2021/02/01/review-powkiddy-v90/amp/
  5. Depending on your definition of affordable, you might be dead soon... https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/odin-the-ultimate-gaming-handheld#/
  6. Anyone with the 4k Indy box agree with this? https://screenrant.com/indiana-jones-4k-upgrade-steven-spielberg-ruin/
  7. It plays some N64 and Dreamcast pretty well but certainly not all. The new Powkiddy RGB-10 Max has the same chipset but in a horizontal form and with dual stick if you prefer that. Or Anbernic RG351P is mostly the same but with a lower resolution screen. They all come with ROMs these days.
  8. Watch a trailer on YouTube!
  9. Maybe I'm weird, but I find that when I see the higher poly characters I start to notice the absence of things like facial animation. And the higher resolution textures on the environment look out of place on the low detailed geometry. I, weirdly, think the original looks better!
  10. I've had some speedy responses to my support requests on the Shield controller issues, to be fair to them. No solution yet, but a decent dialogue. Which is nice
  11. Tried this out on my Nvidia Shield today. Not a great first impression as controller functionality is all over the place. Works ok on most "computer" games but arcade games are unplayable as Insert Coin and Start are on the same button and first button push doesn't start the game; only the second push starts the game.. which also inserts a second coin, so you always start in 2-player mode. Galaga doesn't recognise my controller inputs at all either. Thought I'd go to their discord server linked from their website, to get some support, but the link is a 404/the server is shut down. Sad, as the 'computer' stuff is mostly nice.
  12. Thanks for the tip on the film. It's available for streaming from my local Library's collection it seems
  13. Rg351v is just about to release! GB form and 640x480 screen are the main draws.
  14. My wife and I have a weekly appointment trawling through the collection of awful diaster films by The Asylum and the like. Plenty of comet/earthquake/hurricane/tsunami crap
  15. Was the Buster Crabbe one tongue in cheek? Crappy and cheesy as hell, but I didn't think that was deliberate
  16. Plastic dinosaurs, both are fun. Whatevs
  17. Some films we watched recently All the classic Herbie films Lots of the Ray Haryhausen films (Jason and the Argonauts, Sinbad, Land that time forgot etc) Police Squad/Airplane/Naked Gun series (the risque parts go over their heads) Last Starfighter Goonies Tron
  18. I got confused by that at various times. I had to scroll back through the ep to figure it out. This other, rather similar-looking, bridge-crew member with black hair seems to have appeared in the last couple of episodes. But the blonde one one (google tells me she's called Lt. Nilsson) is still there too. Does anyone know the name of the one with dark hair?
  19. Hey, I think you're looking for a different thread. This is the Discovery Hate-Watch thread
  20. Watched it all now and rather enjoyed it. Unsubtle political allegory, but a good 'wartime resistance' movie.
