Uzi, for taunt warrior I could see whirlwinds, ghouls, sleep with fishes and all the early taunts (creeper, brave, armoursmith) being pretty handy there? I'm playing a slower elemental shaman and malestrom, tar creeper and hot spring guardian are MVPs in that matchup which are similar use cards.

Long time no post... I wanted to share with someone the fuzzy warm glow I'm feeling at going five wins zero losses against pirate warrior and the same result against brood hunter. Games beyond turn 5 are back again! I am getting utterly wrecked against cavern rogue though...

Evolving a Jewelled Scarab into a King Mukla. Feels good man.

When you finally get Totem Shaman to work:
-
Yum. Secret Eater would have been a better name though.

C'Thun's battlecry deals random single damage around the enemy side of the board, for whatever amount you managed to buff his attack up to before playing him. Raid Leader would buff him as he lands, so it probably counts I guess. His effect is like Avenging Wrath or Timepiece of Horror, but bigger.

C'mon Standard! I'm trying to learn a completely new deck archetype this season. Control priest. I keep messing up pretty horrifically, but when I masterfully shut someone down oh how sweet. Fuckin' druids still ruin my day though.
-
I thought I had a pretty good hand, until this Druid played out his turn 1. Ow!
-
Secret Paladins everywhere! I agree though, better than facing a stream of Hunters. Spot on, JDub. I've never been as high up the ladder or had more fun playing with Shaman than now. I even got my first salty hate request from someone. Very proud. I wouldn't mind, but I wasn't lucky at all! Played a blinder.

Another mention to the Murloc Knight. He's awesome. I'm terrified of him. Playing Paladin is giving me the most trouble at the moment. With Muster, Knife Juggler, Murloc Knight, that lady who inspires another Silver Hand Recruit, Justicar Trueheart, Quartermaster and Truesilver there's always some sort of Paladin nonsense to worry about.
-
Mukla's Champion seems to work well with the Paladin Murlocs I've played against so far. Shit ton of bananas everywhere. I'd be up for another go at some games.
-
I was well beaten by a Paladin last night who used Justicar, Muster and Quartermaster to good effect. It was one of those games where you could see what was going to happen and I was praying for AoE from my deck, but nope.
-
I think I saw 3 new cards in around six matches last night. Boring. I was beaten a lot but still c'mon. I want hear the new card sounds, not be butchered by your regular face hunter. Slowly getting Totems to work I think. Totemic is a gentleman even if he does sound a bit like a bumpkin.

1 legendary from 27 packs. Bolf Ramshield.
-
I've topped out around rank 7/8 with midrange Shaman this expansion, hoping these totems will give me a little bump. Reincarnate Shaman is tons of fun, but it works so rarely that you slide down the ladder.

Here's to a Varian waiting in each of our first packs.

Yeah, I kinda agree and I'm not butt hurt about it. It just seems like for Fire Elemental, if the game made you choose where your fireball went before the minion dropped as a graphical representation of what's happening then Blizzard could have saved a lot of confusion! Check this, some unrelated oddness. This guy pulled a Doomguard from an Unstable Portal. It had some weird history that wasn't relevant to our match. Not a Ragnaros or Flamestrike in sight!

The rules are clear, I understand why it happened now. What I'm saying is that unless you know that this rule is in the game, the result of this play feels 100% counter intuitive. Hence the reams of reddit threads and pseudocode being used to explain it. The tears are extra salty as for the most part the game does an excellent job of telling you what's going to happen when you take an action. This isn't what it feels like though, as your Fire Elemental is slapped down on the board before you can choose where the damage goes. If the damage was directed before the Fire Elemental hits the floor, akin to when you make a choice with Wrath, then it would be more understandable.

Fair enough, then the mechanic is working as intended. It's not a bug, but it seems for Mirror Entity it works out badly. Step 8 in that list reads as a repeat of step 1. And it's this repeat of the step in that workflow that screws over the active player. The card text for Mirror Entity is "When your opponent plays a minion, summon a copy of it.". The active player plays his minion before the secret is even pulled from the deck, so it's always going to feel unfair.
-
An opponent mage has a Mad Scientist on the board. It's my turn and play a Fire Elemental and use it's battle cry to kill the Scientist. The Scientist death rattle pulls a Mirror Entity from his deck, which then immediately triggers and copies my Fire Elemental. That is some straight up bullshit with an extra side of salt.

As a game mechanic I quite like it. It opens up scope for a lot of slower decks, which I'm all for after playing 4 face bashers in a row. If it actually changes the meta remains to be seen! Though I wish is wasn't as slow and that a joust was a bit more of an event during the game. If they sped it up and there were some fancy lances crossing or something I'd enjoy it a bit more.

Buying Naxx is pretty standard if you want to start climbing the ladder past the lower rungs. There are tons of useful cards in there. Blackrock isn't so much, but it depends what classes you like to play.

The kodo flood is fun if you manage to get the maiden, drake and kodo rider all on the board at once.
