Honestly the performances the past couple of games we should be happy with 5th. We look like world beaters with a fully fit first 11. Couple of injuries to key personnel and we are shit. I think we’ll be better next year with the right summer, but so will Man U and Newcastle…

Crazy result, especially given our recent form. Switch to a back 5 and having Elneny in there alongside Xhaka seemed to do the trick though. Still gave the ball away a lot with some sloppy passes, but it’s back on right? I feel like Nketiah would be a decent backup striker, seems like he wants too much money or regular first team football though, so doubt he’ll stay.

Result is terrible, injuries to key players even worse. Too 4 still possible, but gonna be a stretch with injuries and no proven goal scorer up front.

At least with this team now you can see how we can improve and we are genuinely competing against the likes or Liverpool and Man City, as opposed to getting completely dominated by them. New Striker and a Xhaka upgrade (although he's been decent recently) and we might win both those games. More depth in the squad is needed long term as well.

Similar to the Man City game, failed to score when we were bossing the game then lack of focus cost us against top class opposition.

Amazing scenes. What was up with Wolves though? They looked like they could of torn us apart in the second half, but just sat back and time wasted. Glad we persisted and got the result!

When it comes to Lacazette a 1 year extension, like Wenger used to do with Bergkamp, would be best. God knows if that sort of thing flies these days though.

I know people are losing it that we didn't bring in a big name striker, but I'm glad we didn't panic buy which we have done in the past few years. It is a big gamble to have so few players in the squad when we have a chance of getting 4th though. We do look really good when everyone is fit, I mean we bossed Man City a few weeks ago, but it only takes a couple of injuries/suspensions (hello Xhaka) and we don't seem to click. This summer we need to bring in a quality striker and I would say a midfielder. What I wouldn't give to have Declan Rice in this team! I feel like we should extend Lacazette's contract as well. If Nketiah goes that leaves us really short up front. Although let's be honest we'll probably give Lacazette an extension, he'll get injured. Nketiah will come in and absolutely boss it then leave on a free!

Need a striker, but also need midfielders. Without Partey and Xhaka we are just not the same.

Is it possible Xhaka getting carded in every other game is not just because he's an idiot on the pitch, but an even bigger one off it?

Sucks that we lost, especially in the manner we did. On the bright side we completely bossed Man City when we had 11 on the pitch, which even 6 months ago would have been unthinkable.

We’re really starting to click, just playing some great football at times. So glad Martinelli is finally getting a run in the team and goals too!

This got renewed for a 2nd season, although the actor who plays Mat is being recast. Must be something going on as I thought he was pretty good in the role. I hope they up the budget for the 2nd season, it’s excellent but really looks cheap compared to similar shows like The Witcher.

When people start blaming this player or that player it’s normally the manager who’s at fault. By all accounts we have a pretty good attacking front line, but Arteta can’t get a tune out of them.

Never read the books but have to say after a shaky start I’m really enjoying this. Budget seems on a level with something like Last Kingdom.

Yeah it’s hard to know if it’s the players or the coach, maybe a bit if both. When it clicks under Arteta you can see what he’s trying to achieve, but days like yesterday don’t fill me with confidence.

We really are a mid table team right now. Look good some weeks, but just no consistency . I do think we’ve improved in some areas under Arteta, but up front we are kind of toothless. Man U were there for the taking yet there was no drive or creativity to score.

Was surprised by the Emi hate, good performance though. Hope we can keep this up as consistency has been a big issue.

We’re no better than we were under Emery. Plus Emery was never given the players he wanted or the money to spend that Arteta has. Look at the players he has at his disposal - Martinelli, Pepe, Auba. We should be cutting teams to pieces on the counter with these guys, but it’s always slow possession based build up. Other than the Spurs game we just look the same as we did a year ago. Defensively pretty good, but slow to move the ball and lacking in ideas in front of goal. Having said all that Mike Dean, what a cock!
