  1. Back playing this, and loving it.  Throttle still seems strange (I'm sure cars accelerate more at lower throttle input range than they are here), so that is nagging away at me slightly.  But the game is fun fun fun.

Plus, it's bloody cold in the house at the moment so I don't need to have the heating on when playing as it's a sweaty workout 😀

    Erm, 70s cars are amazing!

Just had a couple of really frustrating sessions with them, and was missing the grip and aero!! :D  Time for sim racing is so minimal at the moment, it's just a bummer when I play and don't enjoy it.

That’s a sexy set of pedals there @davejm and ive heard they are amazing and a step up from the Fanatecs - wish consoles allowed a bit more choice with pedals!

    What rig is that?

Yeah, pedals are a bit of a step up; but definitely in the realms of diminishing returns at the price.  I think any load cell pedals are a game changer.

The rig is a GT Omega Prime.  Solid as!!

You know the rules state you have to post a pic of your setup now and everytime you make an incremental upgrade a new pic is required ;)

Haha in that case, I'm not sure if I've posted since I got my HE Sprints 😄

Yeah, I'm using manual clutch but I don't really have to use it.  You can drive any cars as if they are sequential (even older cars which would have had h-pattern gears) and it doesn't even have any effect on starting a stage (just hold the handbrake like you would with auto clutch).  It might be worth switching over to manual clutch, mapping a control for it then ignoring it.

oooh, interesting.  I'll give that a try! :)

Are these throttle issues specific to certain pedal sets?  I'm not having any problems with my setup and I can hold the car at half throttle with no issues.

The issue is to do with the auto clutch engaging when it shouldn't, apparently.  You using manual clutch I assume?

The game doesn't work with my shifter, so I'm just trying to use the flappy paddles.

  8. Mmmm... not sure I like this combo (Spa 1970 and Vintage Gen2's).  Plus, I know I've droned on about this before but the shimmering and aliasing is bad to the point of distracting 😔

Gosh, I'm such a grumpy shit at the moment 😆

I was planning on trying to organise something for this Thursday, but I'm out for drinks with the running club.

I definitely fancy doing something AMS2 related at some point though, but I reckon a tighter race track (somewhere we haven't raced before) and more modern cars would be way more fun.

Any other car/track combos we could try?

  9. I can't get AMS2 results to show at the moment.  The PHP libraries I use for parsing the results have stopped working, so I assume they need some kind of update.

For now I'll create the practice server, them have another look at the website when I get a chance.

EDIT: Server is up.  Just gonna head on to test.

Thanks for letting me in the team!

had more of a go today and the throttle thing seems to be more of a problem than i thought it would be, as you cant leave it on half throttle it seems really slow to get going again out of corners, hope they fix it soon. Ill try and do some daily events for the team thing but probably wont play too much till its fixed.

Yeah, I'm waiting for a patch too.

If the team gets full and you need to remove me, please do!

Not just the throttle thing, but pretty damning criticisms all round.

Yeah, many of them don't apply to me really.   For example, fiddling with setups is the least of my worries as I'm a total beginner.  And I haven't been using a handbrake at all.  Other than the throttle 'issue' I've been getting loads of enjoyment.  I've never played any of the previous games so having all of this content for the cheap price I paid has been well worth it already.

Thanks! that sounds good to me as It was really bad so I think you'd notice. What format are you on, PC?

Yeah, PC.  I followed a settings guide I found, and seems ok!  It's a little bit light at the moment so I do need to tweak it, but the handling and feedback is what I've most enjoyed about the game so far despite struggling with other issues (UI, throttle behaviour etc).

  13. Anyone else having issues with the throttle?  There doesn't seem to be any power unless you're flooring it, which feels really strange.  For most of the pedal's travel there's no acceleration even though the game is registering the linear input correctly in the control options.

I wondered if it was just how these cars behave, so was just learning to live with it; but I've just googled it now as it's been bugging me.  It seems others are saying the same thing.

I don't normally watch it but might check that out, cheers!

Anybody racing this week? I was thinking I might try and join the TSR boys for the Glen on Tuesday night. Maybe even try some LFM again.

Not this week, but I'm thinking of getting the new season going again next week.

Is there much appetite for racing over the Christmas period?  I can't recall if we normally race or take some time off.

Considering the drop off in numbers if might be worth just keeping things going; otherwise we might just lose everyone.
