  1. That's great news!! Fuga has been on my want list for some time, and I really enjoyed Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion with it (for me) being rather funny .
  2. Am I the only one that didn't know that Ni No Kuni was coming to Game Pass......today?
  3. Not a bad sale (IMO) this week on the BC side of things, there's also a pretty decent Tokyo Game Show sale, which includes such delights that are on my "grab em when on sale" list as Layer Section and Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection, not to mention Mr Driller DrillLand which is less than £5.00 . Battlefield Bad Company 2 £2.99 Blue Dragon £3.74 Borderlands £5.99 Borderlands 2 £7.99 Call of Duty 2 £7.49 Call of Duty 3 £7.49 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare £9.99 Call of Duty: Black Ops £12.49 Call of Duty: Black Ops II £11.99 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) £12.49 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 £12.49 Call of Duty: World at War £9.99 Castlevania: Harmony of Despair £3.29 Castlevania: Symphony of the Night £2.22 Contra £1.69 Crazy Taxi £1.68 Duke Nukem Forever £3.99 Fable Anniversary £7.49 Fable II £7.49 Fable III £7.49 Far Cry Instincts Predator £3.59 Frogger £1.69 Frogger 2 £1.68 Guardian Heroes £1.69 Gunstar Heroes £1.69 GUNVALKYRIE £4.19 Hard Corps: Uprising £3.29 JUJU £2.99 LEGO Batman £5.99 LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes £6.74 Lost Odyssey £13.39 Lost Planet 2 £2.99 Lost Planet 3 £2.99 Mafia II £6.24 Midway Arcade Origins £3.74 Prey £2.99 Realms of Ancient War £1.19 Rayman 3 HD £3.37 Rocket Knight £3.29 SEGA Vintage Collection: Golden Axe £1.68 SEGA Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage £3.37 Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution £4.99 Sid Meier's Pirates! £2.29 Spec Ops: The Line £3.99 Super Contra £1.69 SEGA Vintage Collection: ToeJam & Earl £3.37 The Bureau: XCOM Declassified £2.24 The Darkness £2.99 The Darkness II £4.99 The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings £3.74 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell £4.79 Trials HD £2.02 The Misadventures of P.B. 4. Sorry, I'd seen someone mention an LG C7 and had kind of got you down as having one !! Anyway I'd be very surprised if it didn't support VRR as it's got the full ultra high speed bandwidth (48Gbps) so it should be fine. That said if you want to perhaps be sure (by way of the manufacturer saying that it will) then you could go for this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/CSL-Highspeed-Ethernet-Dynamic-Variable-Black/dp/B09GKCDRNR/ref=psdc_1338420031_t5_B08BRYJWSM?th=1 .
  5. This will do the job just fine (there is a 1.8m one but it's actually more expensive) for less than a pint and a pork pie, facilitating all the features your TV / Series X combo can offer to one another and being suitable for the latest TVs HDMI / your Series Xs features (I think you're only missing VRR TBH) should you upgrade. https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-High-Speed-HDMI-Cable-Black/dp/B08BRYJWSM/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3CGAV1VBU3BGI&keywords=amazon%2Bhdmi%2B2.1&qid=1662629387&sprefix=amazon%2Bhdmi%2B2.1%2Caps%2C70&sr=8-3&th=1 Personally I'd encourage people not to buy from the likes of Currys when it comes to connects, as they've been spanking customers for years with all kinds of crazy claims of superior quality, picture and sound enhancing capabilities etc on their snake oil cables. They make a killing on them by tagging them onto TV sales as whats another £30-£150 when you've just spent a grand on your lovely new telly? Well I'd argue that for 99% of people that do buy them its probably around £20-£140 more than they needed to spend.
  6. Thanks for sharing your detailed thoughts on the extra content (oh I had no idea that 3 was going to be a thing!) . I did also find this guide to 2 and the amount of info on it has kind of fried my mind somewhat: https://rtype.fandom.com/wiki/R-Type_Final_2#Description
  7. Ripped from Reddit here's a list of various coastline lengths for this weeks This or That. I tell you what, there are a good few places where on a nice weekend you'd likely struggle to get a decent spot on the beach!! List ordered in Alphabetical order A,B,C. Albania --- 476 km Belgium --- 69 km Bosnia and Herzegovina --- 20 km Brunei --- 160 km Cambodia --- 440 km Comoros --- 340 km Djibouti --- 314 km El Salvador --- 307 km Ghana --- 537 km Guatemala --- 330 km Guinea --- 320 km Guinea-Bissau --- 350 km Guyana --- 459 km Iraq --- 58 km Ivory Coast --- 515 km Kuwait --- 499 km Latvia --- 531 km Liberia --- 680 km Nauru --- 30 km Puerto Rico --- 501 km Sierra Leone --- 483 km Singapore --- 193 km Suriname --- 386 km Togo --- 56 km Tonga --- 419 km Tuvalu --- 24 km .
  8. A big fan of R-Type since it's arcade days I keep dipping in and out of this thread, it's great (IMO) to see such a classic being reinvented and positively chatted about . I've been sat on the fence for a while as the reviews were good but not great but that said I'm sure my love for the game will elevate it for a bit for me if that makes sense and I can't help but think it'll look amazing on an OLED! If I take the plunge and go all in buying the Digital Deluxe version (not cheap, but probably still less than I paid for the two PCE cards all those years ago!) which comes with a season pass that gives me DLC packs 1, 2 and 3, will that give me all current and future content or am I better just getting the base game and a select pack or two and if so are there any recommendations on which to go for / avoid?
  9. That was pretty much what I thought too! I had no idea it was coming to console so this is great news . Ghost Song and Moon Scars are two games that I knew nothing about and I’m really liking the look of them as well!
  10. That was also my first thought as I was sure I'd read (some time ago too) that they stated they were making money on the hardware and they had a revision of the build which was largely reported as being cheaper to manufacture. I know things have gone up, but for it to have wiped out their profit margin and to force an increase is quite something.
  11. OLED Switch with two top (AC and MK8) games for £339 seems to be a good deal for anyone who's after one... https://www.currys.co.uk/products/nintendo-switch-oled-neon-red-and-blue-mario-kart-8-deluxe-and-animal-crossing-new-horizons-bundle-10233824.html?awc=1599_1661248675_c9d55a5162a9ab895aa479864b3f79d3&srcid=369&xtor=AL-1&cmpid=aff~HotUKDeals~Discount Code~47868~Pepper+Deals+Ltd&sv1=affiliate&sv_campaign_id=47868 Pretty tempted myself as whilst I've not seen one in the flesh I hear nothing but great things about the OLED screen (and indeed my Vita was lovely) and could probably flog the games for £70 whilst getting £120 for my old one, meaning I get an OLED upgrade for £150 . Better still me doing so would likely prompt the release of a 4k Pro with an 8hr battery and Joy con stick internals made out of something other than Wensleydale so you lot would benefit too!! Winner winner eh !!
  12. Not a bad sized list of BC titles in this weeks sale: Age of Booty £0.67 Assassin's Creed II £2.69 Asura's Wrath £2.99 Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2 £1.99 BioShock £5.99 BioShock 2 £5.99 BioShock Infinite £5.99 Blood Knights £1.99 Borderlands £5.99 Borderlands 2 £7.99 Dark Void £2.39 Dead Space £3.74 Dead Space™ 2 £3.74 Dead Space 3 £3.74 Duke Nukem Forever £3.99 Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara £1.99 Faery: Legends of Avalon £1.15 FLOCK! £1.99 Ikaruga £3.37 Injustice: Gods Among Us £6.24 LEGO Batman £5.99 LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes £6.74 Lost Planet 2 £2.99 Lost Planet 3 £2.99 Mafia II £6.24 Mars: War Logs £1.31 Mega Man 10 £1.35 Mega Man 9 £1.35 Midway Arcade Origins £3.74 Prey £2.99 Prince of Persia Classic £1.68 Radiant Silvergun £4.99 Resident Evil Code: Veronica X £2.99 Rock of Ages £2.09 Saints Row £1.34 Saints Row IV £4.49 Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell £1.79 Saints Row®: The Third™ £1.79 SEGA Vintage Collection: Monster World £2.70 Shinobi £1.35 Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution £4.99 Sid Meier's Pirates! £2.29 Spec Ops: The Line £3.99 Street Fighter IV £2.99 SUPER STREETFIGHTER IV ARCADE EDITION £3.99 The Darkness £2.99 The Darkness II £4.99 TimeSplitters 2 £2.09 TimeSplitters Future Perfect £2.09 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier £2.24 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 £4.49 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 £2.24 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction £4.49 The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom £1.35 .
  13. Just tried them for you matey and they're both working as they should at my end. EDIT Just did a status check here: https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-live-status and it says Store and Gamepass are fine but does report that Destiny (1 & 2) is having some routine maintenance performed on it between 13:00 and 18:00. Maybe do a full reset of your X if it continues?
  14. I’d really liked the look (art style wise in particular) of it. Great to see it reviewing so well .
  15. I'd grab one straight away too!!
  16. I've heard nothing but good things about the Split Pad Pro but didn't fancy loosing the rumble of Gyro controls. I went for one of the clip on ones by a company called Oivo (it's this fella https://www.amazon.co.uk/OIVO-Adjustable-Compatible-Ergonomic-Asymmetrical-Black/dp/B09C86DJSN ) and it's superb. The key to it's comfort for me is not only the grip / handle profile but also that the R/H one pitches your thumb in at a much more comfortable angle and I wouldn't dream of playing handheld without it now / I can't recommend it enough (as do loads of YT reviews). It is available on Wish and Ali thingy of you don't mind waiting a week or two: https://www.wish.com/product/5eae9129e5e7c3adb5f3d829?from_ad=goog_shopping&_display_country_code=GB&_force_currency_code=GBP&pid=googleadwords_int&c=17739879730&ad_cid=5eae9129e5e7c3adb5f3d829&ad_cc=GB&ad_lang=EN&ad_curr=GBP&ad_price=15.00&campaign_id=17739879730&retargeting=true&exclude_install=true&gclid=CjwKCAjw5s6WBhA4EiwACGncZdNK46dH7KP6x4h1XslqhQWytC3HWuuKoPc9Lly05_pD2VLFHtp9fBoCPPMQAvD_BwE&share=web https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004212259781.html?UTABTest=aliabtest298352_419680&_randl_currency=GBP&_randl_shipto=GB&src=google&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=708-803-3821&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&albagn=888888&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&albcp=17223542304&albag=134998068205&trgt=295204014427&crea=en1005004212259781&netw=u&device=c&albpg=295204014427&albpd=en1005004212259781&gclid=CjwKCAjw5s6WBhA4EiwACGncZQe1LyK_tsAY2G114qCkU60-CItIYXFZBc-oWihQjS1xdgpURbBlrRoC1tAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&aff_fcid=c6821bf10fcd42819244f7508864ffe8-1658049489443-01443-UneMJZVf&aff_fsk=UneMJZVf&aff_platform=aaf&sk=UneMJZVf&aff_trace_key=c6821bf10fcd42819244f7508864ffe8-1658049489443-01443-UneMJZVf&terminal_id=c11e5f74eee049d5aa6ff81a8a48ec68&OLP=1082800308_f_group0&o_s_id=1082800308&afSmartRedirect=y Failing that there's this fella on Amazon which has the differently shaped / angled R/H grip which should do the same job. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zadii-Ergonomic-Compatible-Comfortable-Protector/dp/B07X7NFWG8/ref=asc_df_B07X7NFWG8/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=383990402380&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12882153116643065181&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007092&hvtargid=pla-827899339802&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=81030823329&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=383990402380&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12882153116643065181&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007092&hvtargid=pla-827899339802 Either way, one of these of a Hori Split should make things waaaay more comfortable for you .
  17. You can get USB dongles that let you use your Xbox controller on the switch . Details on both of them here: https://www.imore.com/how-wirelessly-use-your-xbox-one-controller-nintendo-switch I should also add that the Pro controller is superb both in feel and function (that battery!) and is worthy of its £50 tag just as much as Xbox and PS controllers are.
  18. Thanks for the detailed write up . Button feel is something that I’m probably over picky about and the D pad being a bit meh was mentioned in a couple of reviews as not being too good.
  19. Does anyone on here ever use a Razer Kishi to XCloud game, and if so how do you find it?
  20. How about popping your profile onto a friends console and getting them to do it for you? Obvs you’d be able to do the same for them when the time comes .
  21. Thanks for the recommendations . I've taken a look at and quite fancied playing DQ for some time now so you've given me the gentle nudge that was needed. Downloading! I would also try out Yakuza Dragon but only 2-3 weeks ago I grabbed Yakuza 0 (you can thank me for it coming back to Gamepass!) when it was on sale. I know the combat is turn based in Dragon (and I think I prefer action these days) but more importantly would playing it before 0 (and then perhaps the others) spoil anything for me?
  22. Oh you're most welcome! I saw your post on Thursday and straight away thought that's bloody good point, what's going on!?! So I sat down and gave it some thought (currently on crutches so have plenty of sit and think time!!) over a couple of days. Bit by bit it all fell into place and I actually felt pretty good about it as it'd kind of irked me for a while!! As I wrote, read, edited and re wrote my reply other things popped into my mind and it just became clearer and clearer. Oh and upon seeing my reply was so flipping long I very nearly PM'd it to you but I then figured if I popped in spoilers then at least others could take a look at it too. I was a top spot that you made there and I'm really glad you shared your thoughts .
  23. Ha, I completely get where you're coming from and it's made me question it too It was a bit of a long thought process (hence the spoiler box to keep things tidy) but I'm pretty sure that your question has led me to the answer as to my "hmmm" re JRPGs.
