  4. Didn't realise it was more than one part... excellent!
  5. It was mainly comparing the US with Britain.. because we have more tornadoes per unit area than the US. It was also useful to learn about the Torro Scale. Emphasised how lucky it was that the two that have hit urban areas resulted in zero deaths...
  6. The Beautiful South MJ Hibbett & The Validators
  7. He was good Saturday night TV on BBC2's Floor Show. And before that on the short-lived revival of Saturday Night Live...
  8. I'll always prefer the Epyx "Games" series to 3D button bashers like International Track & Field...

  11. The Loft (above The Graduate pub) in Cambridge, January 6th 2007 (links on the band names): Strawbear weren't bad, just needed to be a little slicker in between songs. They used a "virtual drummer", a laptop and keyboard combination played by the lead guitarist. The Cougars admitted they were a bit rough around the edges after a Christmas break, but certainly had a lot of fun with it (apart from the drummer, who looked permanently bored at the back). They just about got away with a cover of Should I Stay Or Should I Go... Harrison had some excellent riffs, but the lead guitarist was too obsessed with feedback. MJ Hibbett was the reason I was there, and he had one Validator with him, the drummer Tim. Played a couple of songs I haven't heard live before (City Centres, and If You're Too Turned On) and it was a good performance.
  12. MJ Hibbett & The Validators - Let's Make The World Go Blind
  13. I actually prefer the BBC2 "condensed" versions... after overdosing on Mythbusters at Christmas 2005, watching whole afternoons of it (and getting infuriated by a), the repeating Discovery ads, and B) the repetition in the programmes themselves)
  14. It's mad. First time I played it, I'd had a couple of pints and... WHOA, WTF! WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?
  15. Anyone else catch this on BBC4 tonight? Very funny, like the previous Nicholas Craig programmes... lots of classic, badly dated BBC sci-fi clips with Nicholas explaining why he wasn't in the new Dr Who inbetween, or how Brian Blessed went up an octave to portray madness...
  16. It was converted to the Commodore 64, too... some nice backdrops and a (slow) smooth scroll, but not a great deal of difficulty...
