We had a tribute game with Villa last night for Peter Whittingham who died at the start of the pandemic as games moved behind closed doors. The club had a bit of stick for scheduling it during the World Cup on a Wednesday night and it being a first team warm up game instead of an 'old boys' games. But it was a nice evening, helped by us winning 3-1 in an actually enjoyable friendly with two of our new young signings who've made no impact so far this season sharing the 3 goals. Very disappointed for my Welsh family and friends last night. Went out with a whimper - couldn't lay a glove on England and the brief excitement of Colwill coming on never led to anything. I’ve got a better prediction. Wales manage to lead England 1-0 in an awful game while Iran and USA play out a 0-0 draw. England/Wales finishes with Wales winning and both teams looking like they are going through. Then in the 102nd minute - USA or Iran score with a load of VAR nonsense. Maybe a penalty that is missed and retaken because of VAR. Wales put through the wringer thinking they are through or not or are. Iran or USAA too the group, England finish second and Wales go home with their win against England spoilt by the other game knocking them out late on. A perfect level of misery for both teams.
