  4. BBC saying no team getting maximum points in the group stage has only happened 3 times - 1958, 1962 and 1994. Brazil went on to win all 3.
  5. I liked the look of that a lot, but without the proper version of the score then it missed the mark a little bit and I'm also not allowing myself to get too excited about it as I'm day 1, but I'll be gutted if it is really shit. But the final scene in the trailer drew a smile so it is already better than the one that must not be named.
  6. We had a tribute game with Villa last night for Peter Whittingham who died at the start of the pandemic as games moved behind closed doors. The club had a bit of stick for scheduling it during the World Cup on a Wednesday night and it being a first team warm up game instead of an 'old boys' games. But it was a nice evening, helped by us winning 3-1 in an actually enjoyable friendly with two of our new young signings who've made no impact so far this season sharing the 3 goals. Here are some Whittingham goals to enjoy
  7. Very disappointed for my Welsh family and friends last night. Went out with a whimper - couldn't lay a glove on England and the brief excitement of Colwill coming on never led to anything. I think if he'd scored a consolation goal it would have made at least the Cardiff Wales fans go home/finish watching on a bit of a high note. Now Colwill can look forward to Stoke away on Saturday week!
  8. I’m predicting either a fairly drama free 1-1 or a totally drama free 2-0 England win with them an early goal and then another before half time.
  9. Any Wales win will do if the other game is a draw, but they need 4-0 or more if either USA or Iran win. Bale, Ramsey AND Allen are all starting so it’s proper old guards last hurrah. He should have played Gunter and Williams as well.
  10. I guess they could have done similar to Infinity War with multiple heroes attacking him all at the same time or just had Nebula, Hulk, Drax all get a couple of shots in then move to Wanda, etc. Still - maybe Drax will still get proper revenge on people who killed someone close to him in GOTG3 (Holiday special spoiler)
  11. Every game must have a minimum of 5 goals from now on and must have a point in the game where the scores are level above 1-1.
  12. Players/coach going mad because they don't get more stoppage time on top of the 10 minutes they've already had.
  13. I enjoyed the Christmas special - it’s paper thin and is just a silly Christmas story starring the Guardians, but there are some laughs and nice little moments including the one JohnC references above.
  14. 4 as a 3-0 loss would give them same points and Goal difference as Wales, but they'd go through on goals scored. And even a 4-0 loss is fine if USA and Iran draw.
  15. I’ve got a better prediction. Wales manage to lead England 1-0 in an awful game while Iran and USA play out a 0-0 draw. England/Wales finishes with Wales winning and both teams looking like they are going through. Then in the 102nd minute - USA or Iran score with a load of VAR nonsense. Maybe a penalty that is missed and retaken because of VAR. Wales put through the wringer thinking they are through or not or are. Iran or USAA too the group, England finish second and Wales go home with their win against England spoilt by the other game knocking them out late on. A perfect level of misery for both teams.
  16. Southgate is really pleased against a tough opponent and it was always going to be hard to replicate the performance in the first game. Really?
  17. I think it needs to be a bigger margin as England still go through on goals scored?
  18. Commentators doing a big thing on how great it is Rashford is back after he delivers a rubbish shot/cross into the box.
  19. I can’t figure out what this means for the group now - England probably still guaranteed to go through due to goal difference if this finishes a draw?
  20. France vs Brazil final with them beating Japan and Saudi in the semis
  21. England need to bring on Kieffer Moore.
  22. So USA battered Wales in 1st half of 1st game, but Wales were the better team in the second half. England battered Iran who then battered Wales, but without scoring until the very end. Now the USA look the slightly better team against England at the moment which means.?????
  23. She’s having the best year of any England child fan since some kid in 1966.
