  1. Should never have left Xbox... #mutters#
  2. Anyone else 'ere watching the steam? Aside from the music, fun so far. Almost 2hrs in and he hasn't died yet... bah! Although I can see him accidentally quitting at some point from the menu screen.
  3. I honestly can't stand Final Fantasy games but I've followed your twitch channel nevertheless. Bring on March 26th. Watching you play will save me the bother of having to play it myself! Is it going to be a 24hr marathon session (as I have no idea how long it takes to complete ffvii?!)??? I've also donated to the cause. Hopefully we can smash your fundraising target long before you stream.
  4. I nodded off... until the equalizer! That ref though was insanely soft.
  5. I encouraged my sister (who hadn't seen an episode of Sherlock before) to watch tonight's episode. I was thinking that it would be all fun and 'Victorian'.... but the whole thing confused her to hell with all the modern day Moriarty stuff. I suspect it's put her off completely...
  6. Gah! Gutted to see you go brad. As one of Gamestyle's long-term outsiders I was really pleased with the direction you pushed GS in. I hope whoever takes over continues down that 'new media' path.
  7. That link doesn't include anything downloaded on the 'Original Xbox'.... which I think it might have been a Return to Castle Wolfenstein Map ('Barn' / June 2003?) On 360 though, my first download was: Geometry Wars Evolved 21/12/2005. I didn't get my 360 at launch because of fecking 'launch shortages'... despite a pre-order... thanks GAME! #stillbitter
  8. Would be nice if they could get Xbox Live back working on Original Xbox titles too... but that is probably asking a bit much. Hey ho. *sigh*
  9. I never left! You lot left me for your PlayStationWhores! And here I am.... with a massive Xbone and EA Access.
  10. As an outsider (not played BAP for a while) it seems like a nice idea, but how could you ensure that people weren't cheating in some way? My first thought would be to: add an extra inch or two to a defender... make him a little lighter for speed etc. How could anyone tell? I can't be the only scoundrel here that thinks like this?!1!
  11. I doubt you'll get anything. Maybe a special email? I'm on 12 yrs (from Beta) and got feck all when the service hit the big 10 year anniversary, whereas some U.S folk got special 360's!
  12. I think SB:LoC LAN is 5v5. The game will ultimately rely on the quality 'hosts' internet connection... probably best to start small and work up to a full match.
  13. A tentative 'yes' from me. Since my previous Xlink Kai exploits back in March I have upgraded my PC to Windows10 and changed my home network setup. So, at this moment in time, I'm not entirely sure if Xlink will still work.... I will give it a go though.
  14. Sorry, I've only just seen this thread. Been playing the PC version on and off since 2011. Currently tearing my hair out trying to complete some Personal Missions (LT-15!) I also dabble on Xbox360 with a few other rllmukers - which will soon switch to XboxOne version in July when it launches. PC(EU): Rogue_Soul XBL: Rogue Soul
  15. Loving the orks and tyranids. Might have a sneaky punt... although I do have a shedful of stuff that needs painting already :/
  16. 1. Halo - Rekindled my love for gaming after the demise of the Dreamcast. At the time I had completely lost interest in the hobby until I was gifted a Xbox+Halo in the summer of '02. I had no idea what I was getting into. 2. Halo 2 - Probably the ultimate console FPS in 2004. So many multi-player game modes. Great fun... oh and it had Campaign Co-Op. Superb. 3. PGR 2 - Easier than the first game but this had online modes. 4. MotoGP 2 - In some respects a better racing game than PGR as you really had to nail racing lines and learn overtaking spots. Probably too tough for most people as it was a real challenge just to stay on the bike/track. 5. Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow - I was torn between this or a Ghost Recon game. I love my tactical / hardcore shooters... but this just about edged it because it was more about close quarter combat. Far more intense. 6. Forza Motorsport - A great racing game where you could skin your own cars. This SEGA fanboy had to do his own 'classic' Sega Rally car liveries: Celica, Delta + Stratos! 7. Knights of the Old Republic - I'm not normally one for RPGs or clicking through pages of dialogue... but this game kept me going with its sometimes dark humour. I want my own HK-47. 8. Fable - Again, I'm not normally one for RPGs but Fable won me over with its British style. Plus, like KoToR, the Good/Evil thing was interesting. 9. Steel Battalion - The controller! 10. Crimson Skies - A classic Xbox Live title. Still waiting for someone to come up with a flying game just like it... My other notable mentions would be: Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Ghost Recon (+GRIT & 2), Star Wars: Battlefront 1&2, Colin McRae Rally 3/4, RalliSport Challenge 2, Links 2004, Top Spin, Burnout 2, Outrun 2, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Serious Sam, Soul Calibur II, Street Fighter Aniv., Sniper Elite, Midtown Madness 3, Mechassault, Kingdom Under Fire, Brothers in Arms, Phantom Crash, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.... ugh...OK I'll stop now I loved playing online with my Xbox. I miss the thing!
  17. Well spotted! Looking at his Youtube channel I noticed he has a SB:LoC facebook group for playing over Xlink Kai: https://www.facebook.com/groups/406257546221492/ Edit: In other news... I found it!
  18. Well... I finally got into a game of Halo2 against the South Americans. It was pretty horrific. Not because of the lag (it was pretty high) but because I had completely forgotten how to play Halo2 (I'm too used to CoD controls now!) AND the old S-Type controller feels completely alien to me now. Gripes aside - Xlink worked! A video of my first clusterf**k game. This is what chaos+ineptitude looks like: https://youtu.be/lKJLhTmxTBA?t=1m5s Given that Halo2 is available on Xbox360&Xbone I was keen to try something else on Xlink. Sadly, it seems people only play Halo2 on there. I did set up a 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein' dedicated server for an hour or two, just to see if there was any interest what-so-ever, but no. Not a single soul joined. Great shame since there's so many other games to choose from.
  19. On Xlink Kai now and there seems to be a lot of 'Latin American' gamers playing Halo2 online. I don't seem to be able to connect to them because the ping is ridiculous (+200ms). Nice to see it could work though... There was one American chap sitting in the SteelBattalion:LoC lobby waiting for a game but I didn't have my epic controller 'to hand' to give it a try (it's currently unassembled and in the attic at the mo). Maybe later... I also gave xbconnect a go. I can't for the life of me get the PC software to 'find' my Xbox. I tried looking for help of the subject but their forums have been hacked. I think I'll pass. There's also software called XBSLink (which I had not heard of before). Not the most user friendly software I've seen but far less clunky than the others.
  20. What about xlink kai? I have vague memories of playing 'system link' games (Halo1) over the internet with that years ago. I assume xlink still works today and I imagine Steel Battalion:LOC could work with it. I might just dig out the old xbox to investigate this.
  21. I'm guessing he gameshared some Alpha/Beta game and got permabanned for it.
  22. I still have the 'original' launch bone thumb-sticks in my pads... Been thinking about getting FIFA15 for the Bone as I've been missing the ALL MAN 10v10 action too, but didn't think there was much of a calling for it. A rllmuk-bone-fc would be very tempting though! Is FIFA15 on EA Access yet? #cheapskate It's also worth pointing out that Meerman now has a Bone...
