  1. HYPE! I always hated that SoR II got the XBLA treatment, when the original SoR was by far my fav in the series. HOWEVER, now they've released all 3 in one nice big package, and it's been knocked down to 400 points in the sale. It's really nicely done, and has heaps of trials and challenges. Plus you can choose region and stuff and bind the controls whichever way you like. I give it 5 Gees! Anyone want to play online?
  2. Hiya, Since Online may be disappearing this might be the perfect time to try an online thread in discussion. First off: Double O has created this spreadsheet: https://docs.google....5MU3Nzanc#gid=0 Add yourself if you'd like to be added by other players. I've edited it to put people into some kind of time related order, try and add yourself in the right space so it's easy for everyone to add the people they're most likely to be playing with. Keep it neat! IF anyone's about, fingers crossed I'll be on all day today. If the postman comes.
  3. So a few years ago Arc Systems Works was pretty much forced to move on from Guilty Gear. I don't know the details but presumably it came from Sega's merger with Sammy. Arc went on and did Blazblue, which was heavily based on Guilty Gear and that worked out quite well. Recently Arc announce that they had regained control over the Guilty Gear franchise. This week is AOU in Japan, and Arc have announced they will be reverse porting Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus to arcades. This in itself is nice news, but not especially relevant for people outside of Japan. However the better news is that Arc have already announced they will release it as a digital download with network play on Xbox and PS3 Now, it's not a new game, but it's certainly the first step towards a new entry in the series. BlazBlue has ended up running into the same routine as GG and most iterative fighters, so I wonder if they will return to GG for a while for a new title based on the success of this port. http://andriasang.co...ilty_gear_home/
  4. From out of nowhere! I won't use words when pictures and videos will do.... Just think "Soul of EDF, heart of Germany".... Remember MEHR STUNTS! MEHR CRASHES!! MEHR SPEED!11
  5. So with Gamescom kicking off tomorrow, I thought a thread to contain all the news might be called for. VG247 have written up a great summary of why this event is much more about the games than E3, so with some of the industries biggest publishers holding their own presser, we should get a good few announcements, and a better look at this winters line up. Below is a summary of the who, what, why where and when, in order of each conference's schedule: Capcom: Capcom delivered a solid show, focussing on new titles in existing franchises, but the stand out title was their new IP, Remember Me. What We Got: Devil May Cry Resident Evil 6 Lost Planet 3 Marvel vs Capcom Origins Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure HD (Vita) Okami HD Remember Me EA: What We Got: Crysis 3 FIFA 13 Medal of Honor Warfighter Need for Speed Most Wanted Star Wars: The Old Republic SimCity Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel Battlefield 3: Armored Kill Dead Space 3 NHL 2013 The Simpsons: Tapped Out Sony: What We Got: PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale (Vita & PS3) Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified (Vita) Assassin's Creed III Assassins Creed: Liberation (Vita) Soul Sacrifice (Vita) The Unfinished Swan Ratchet & Clank: Q Force (Vita & PS3) The Last of Us Killzone: Mercenary Wonder Book - A Book of Spells - Walking With Dinosaurs - Diggs Nightcrawler - Disney (only announced) LittleBigPlanet (Vita) When Vikings Attack (Vita & PS3) Rain Until Dawn (Move) Puppeteer Sports Champions 2 Tearaway (Vita) God Of War: Ascension Sly 4 (Vita & PS3) Little Big Planet: Karting Playstation Mobile (Vita & Android - Couldn't find the montage for this anywhere, if anyone does, just send it along and I'll update the link) Additional News: Below is a summary of the event taken from the Playstation blog: Ubisoft: Times: UK: August 15th 2:00 PM EU: August 15th 3:00 PM Live Streams: Text Stream Only: http://www.el33tonline.com/past/2012/8/15/gamescom_2012_ubisoft_press_conference/ Expectations: After knocking it out of the park at E3, it's hard to see what more Ubisoft have left to reveal. Numerous quotes points to a focus on free to play gaming reveals, based on their existing IP, so don't expect any Watchdogs level unveilings. Expected Games Are: Assassin’s Creed III Assassin’s Creed III Liberation Far Cry 3 Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online Shootmania: Storm Rabbids Land Rayman Legend Sports Connection Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013 ZombiU As Gamescom rolls on, I'll update the 'Expected Games' sections with links to revealed videos. Feel free to post links to these videos, and I'll roll them into the OP.

http://www.eurogamer...ers-ssx-domains I'm very afraid this'll turn out to be just for a mobile game of sorts.
  7. Well, I haven't done one of these in a while. It's another Know Your Boxart quiz! All the letters below are from the boxart of 2012 game releases. How many do you recognise? Please put your answers in spoiler tags so as not to ruin it for others. I'll post the answers up tomorrow if no-one gets them in the meantime. And yes, there is no letter 'Q' - I couldn't find a decent one.
  8. http://www.vg247.com/2012/07/10/angry-birds-trilogy-to-release-on-ps3-360-3ds-around-the-holidays/ Glad to see if come to the consoles, but full retail? That is madness
  9. Hello, with the Olympics coming up I want top play stuff like this. Is there anything on XBLA or retail that's like this? The official Olympics games are usually a bit dour in my experience. Is London 2012 going to be any good? Suggestions please, there must be some stuff out there already.
  10. Remember when Kinect was revealed and all those sneering internet know-it-alls mocked that it looked like it would only ever offer cack-handed ultra-casual games with roughly the same functionality as a Tiger LCD handheld game from the Argos catalogue. Well, prepare to stop your grinning and drop your linen because Capcom and Microsoft have teamed up to show you the infinite possibilities of controller free gaming and that Kinect is just as much for the so-called 'hardcore' with Steel Battalion: Heavy Armour. Exciting stuff that should get the juices of any gamer flowing. But don't trust me - just look what respected videogame publications are saying about it! Giant Bomb Polygon IGN I assume there isn't already a thriving thread for the game because all you cats have already received your copies and are too busy playing it.
  11. I couldn't seem to find a thread anywhere for this even via google and was interested to start a bit of a discussion on it as I know little about it and have just started playing last night. Initial responses aren't exactly overwhelming and i'm guessing it gets better because the 7 out of 10 rating I had seen it get given just feels a lot higher than i'd have expected so far. Now i'm playing the PS3 version and from what I have read before, I think this is different from the other but I don't know if that means just features and extras or the whole game itself. The contols are the biggest problem I have with the game so far as they just feel unbelievable awful on top of a dodgy follow cam which sometimes ends up all over the place. The music very reminiscent of Obscure at times with some of the orchestral pieces and definitely the choir. It looks alright ish, but feels more action than horror at the moment. I think the layout being in a building where every turn the room gets ripped apart just makes the controls feel even harder to work with. I would like to know what others thought of this anyway. The only previous AITD game I have played before was the previous New Nightmare, which I regarded as a pretty decent game despite a worse score than this title. I think there's something about those static camera angles which I really like and the dodgy hard to get used to controls in classic RE style gaming which adds to the whole suspense. This edition just feels a bit messy so far, but i'm only about an hour into it or so having fought the first woman recently. It feels like im mimmicking the whole waggle just using the analogue stick to attack when you swing things. I think this is just one of those things to get used to.
  12. Times: UK: June 4th 5:30 PM BST EU: June 4th 6:30 PM CET US: June 4th 9:30 AM PST US: June 4th 12:30 PM EST Video Streams: http://www.xbox.com/en-gb/e3 http://e3.gamespot.c...e/microsoft-e3/ http://www.gametrailers.com/e3/ http://www.g4tv.com/.../microsoft/131/ http://www.youtube.com/user/E3 In addition, Gold members can watch the entire conference from the comfort of the dash. What Are We Expecting: With 360 entering it's twilight years, MS are expected to be focussing on service and content announcements, with the highlight being the unveiling of their 'Woodstock' music service, which is largely thought to be MS's answer to Spotify. Another big focus of the conference will likely be the recently leaked 'Smart Glass' app, which will widen the reach of 360 to iOS and Android devices. The true wild card are rumors of some type of new hardware reveal, that isn't the next Xbox. There has been evidence that MS have something in the works, which many initially speculated were Durango developer boxes, but more recent murmurings suggest that MS could be going for a revised 360 model. On the games front, it looks as though MS will come out a lot stronger than many perhaps feared. Halo 4 is almost certainly going to be their big title, but recent leaks/announcements of a new Gears of War (developed by Epic owned People Can Fly), and an open world Forza game should keep the core happy. Doubtless Kinect will take center stage, but with Fable: The Journey, a new Panzer Dragoon, Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, along with an exclusive Harry Potter game and Ryze, we should hopefully see more interesting demonstrations than the usual run of awkwardly stage prepped children fitting on stage. On top of this, MS's show is almost certainly going to feature the first big look at the next Call of Duty game (even though I wouldn't bet against Sony nabbing them this year, to showcase their Vita title) and along with a healthy showing of third party titles, all things being well, MS should have a decent show ahead of them. What We Got: ...seriously, I don't know what more to add to that..... well not today anyway. Well, all credit to tnman again, who has put together a great bullet list of what MS delivered: Halo 4! Splinter Cell Blacklist FIFA/Madden Kinect Fable The Journey trailer Forza Horizon Gears of War Judgement Tomb Raider 9 Resident Evil 6 South Park: The Stick of Truth Dance Central 3 Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 New dash functions, including Bing search genre. Fuck yeah. Lots of new apps for sports Xbox Music Nike+ Kinect Xbox SmartGlass, like Apple Airplay, can supplement content with maps of where characters are in TV shows. Internet Explorer coming to 360 New IP: Ascend: New Gods New IP: Loco Cycle (Twisted Pixel's new game) New IP: Matter New IP: Wrecketeer (Angry Birds rip-off)
  13. Now it's old news that EA regularly shut down servers for the online components for games. But even by their shitty standards this one is a new low. EA's MMA game was released at the end of October 2010 (so actually it's less than 18 months old). It was one of those games that required an 'online pass' if bought second-hand and quick look at its achievement list shows that a lot of the achievements require online.
  14. So, what better thread to start on a lazy sunday then a predictions and expectations thread about this years E3. It's only a month and a week away now, so better get those crazy and outlandish ideas in before the first inevitable leaks start seeping in. Personally I'm looking most forward to the Nintendo stuff this year: The final Wii U presentation, new 3DS games ea. I'm hoping we get to see the new Wii U Mario title, Pikmin 3, a new 3DS Zelda game (which will hopefully feat. Toon Link), more of Luigi's Mansion 2, more of Animal Crossing 3DS + it's actual name, more on Level-5's Fantasy Life, the rumoured The World Ends With You Too, the rumoured Kirby, Donkey Kong and Yoshi 3DS games, the rumoured Z.O.E. 3DS game. And of course a healthy amount of exciting eShop titles. And if I can dream, I'd like to see a Wii U F-Zero game, the announcement of an new Earthbound game, a Suda51 game for the WiiU (although he already said that he'd really like to do NMH 3 for the Wii U). I'm also keen on seeing what Sony will do with the Vita; both on trying to counter the pretty poor sales, and hopefully doing this Nintendo-style by announcing lots of great new and unexpected games for this little baby. Whatever happened to Dragon's Crown (and Grand Knights History for that matter...) ? Also excited about the PS4 actually, but just because I'm curious finding out about what we can expect from the next gen. Ah, and lest I forget: Will we see the reveal of a new 3DS model (with two sticks)? Last year I was convinced this'd happen at either E3 2012 or TGS 2012, so I wonder if I was right. Although I'm not so sure now... So, thoughts?

  16. Supposedly this is one of Microsoft's big E3 reveals. I've read that statement about 5 times and still can't make sense of it. At one point it reads lke they're releasing an Xbox branded tablet (good luck with that, I expect it would do about as well as all the other iPad competitors), then it reads like it's just be a gussied up version of the existing Xbox Live iOS App with a bit of Airplay style video and music streaming functionality,
  17. Shamlessly taken from darksteve's post in the Xbox Live Arcade Thread (thanks Steve) Concept Art: Finally, a true 'survival' zombie game. I absolutely love L4D, but since reading The Walking Dead I've wanted a zombie game where just surviving is the key, but necessarily trying to kill every zombie in your path. A game where you try to find a new, safer haven, but you're not sure whether you want to risk the trek out to find somewhere new. And this game sounds like exactly that.
