  1. Just had notification via Twitter that the Beta is now live on Windows 8.1, so thought it about time for a thread. The XO beta should start in the new year. I have to say this is for me one of the most anticipated releases on the XO, never having done anything like programming before, and looking forward to creating that Epic RPG of my dreams. Bioware beware! Seriously, I apologise for not having any embedded media etc in this OP, I know there are loads of videos out there showing it off, I will try to upgrade from the PC.
  2. I don't know how this hasn't been done yet, if it has apologies and you can delete this, but sparked by a conversation with a friend...What were your favourite games of the last generation, and no Wii U is not included. If the interest is there, I might get everyone to supply their top 10 and I'll compile a list a la the other "Rllmuk favourite" threads. I know there was a game of the decade thread, but this is different? Personally mine are: 360 - Mirrors Edge The one game that DICE got right. The fluid motion and sense of movement is something to behold, when you put the practice in. You can say what you like about the story and cut scenes, but the actual gameplay was awesome. Can't wait to hear more about the long overdue sequel. With Xbox One's DVR I will be poluting people's lives with my videos! 360 - Halo: Reach Pinnacle of the Halo series. The single player was pitched just right. No one before or since have gotten enemy AI close to what was achieved with Reach. Not to mention the multiplayer. I spent more time on it than was probably right. 360 - COD:MW2 People mention MW1 as the peek but MW2 took everything from the original and improved upon it. Me and the mates used to get together online on Monday nights and play a selection of games, but MW2 is one of the ones that sticks out the most. 360 - PES 2013 Have to put this in just for the sheer amount of hours I put into it. About 600 online games = about 200 hours on that alone. Not many single player games, but online MP made up for it. PES 2014 is a better game, but a combination of online issues at both ends mean it's been more frustrating that anything. 360 - Rock Band 3 Put more money into DLC for this than anything ever. I don't think anything will come close to it this gen either. Ever since I bought an import copy of the original Guitar Hero and played it, in black and white, on my PS2, I was hooked. Rock Band 3 took it to the nth degree. 360 - Trials Evolution I love this game! I convinced some a few mates who would never have bought it, or it's prequel, otherwise to purchase! But it's exactly the type of thing I really love, it's longevity with me came from that ever lingering need to improve! Needs to be a new one on Xbox One, DVR functionality required! 360 - Alan Wake Alan Wake was one of the best single player experiences this gen. The story, the mechanics, everything about it drove you to complete it. Makes me look forward to Quantum Break for Xbox One. 360 - Bioshock Again, in the same vein as Alan Wake. It's story and setting was perfectly realised and the game mechanics were spot on. Enjoyed every bit of it apart from the final boss fight, which was by all accounts good, it just stretched the believability a little bit. Wii - Mario Galaxy Unadulterated fun! Not much more I can say about that. Mario games pinnacle was Mario 64, but then Galaxy came along and blew it apart. Everything about it was a joy and made collecting every little star so enjoyable. I never got around to Galaxy 2, which is supposedly better, but I'll get there some day! Wii - Wii Sports The amount of time spent playing this with friends justifies it's addition in here. Bowling taking the majority of the time, but each game was fun and something only Nintendo could provide. So much so, I will be rebuying each sport when released in Wii Sports Club on Wii U. There are no doubt some games I've missed. But that is a pretty good list.
  3. I think it's probably best we start a new thread for season 2 players. That way any new players just getting started on season one don't get spoiled.
  4. Trigg

    NBA 2K14

So yeah, my one a year thread is late this time as I've held off getting the current gen versions as I intend to pick this up for PS4 at launch. I know in recent years theres been quite a few people who've enjoyed the series so here we are again. It does seem that the next gen version will be different as they didn't want to do a straight port over from PS3/360/PC. For now we don't know what it entails, we do know that the Path to Greatness mode and possibly Crew Mode won't be in the next gen versions. Seem bizarre to take modes out of a next gen game but hopefully they'll have some other modes and features planned. I guess its a given that they'll more fluid animations and more of them than the current gen version. He's an awesome trailer for the PS4 version. Harden and Lebron look damn near perfect. If we get the gameplay improvements then this could be a real great first outing on the PS4 and Xbox One. I have tried the demo for the current gen version and again it seems like a nice little update. I found it harder to score and you really had to work to get to the basket this time round. Plus your teammates seem a bit more knowledgeable about the game and were trying to create space and spread the floor. Defence seemed much better too, could force them away from the basket and you can now block dunks. Also improved the pump fake fouls, if you get them in the air you seem to get the call for foul too which is nice. Hopefully we'll be getting more and more information as we get nearer to launch.
  5. Last night, I finally accepted that my launch 360 controller had to be retired. It just can't cut it anymore. The left thumb stick has a massive dead zone. The rubberised top bit of it is half missing. the triggers are a bit loose. It's time to retire it to the top shelf (as if I'm gonna throw it away, yeah right!). By my calculations it has had at least 4000 hours of use in its lifetime, starting December 2005. I know every surface of it. I hate the new 360 controllers, they feel different. The left and right shoulder buttons especially. Its like they swapped from micro switches to leaf springs at some point. Luckily I have another launch controller that probably has about the quarter of the wear and tear, but even that feels alien to me. So this post is a tribute to my trusty 360 controller. Goodbye, old friend. I couldn't have scored goals, killed foes, ridden horses, or destroyed cities without you.
  6. [Edit 16/12/14] Heists have been revealed! Info here: http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?/topic/274193-gta-online/?p=10175135 Thought we could do with a seperate thread for this now as it's bound to be very popular to say the least! 7. This is it folks, as I write, GTA V is just 6 days, 8 hours and 40 minutes away from release. So lets stick all our exciting dispatch/delivery details in this thread, along with any unboxing vids of collector's editions. Also post any rumours of any rebels selling the game early.

  10. Now coming to Steam yusssss! http://www.cnbc.com/id/100965004 http://youtu.be/agb8HlwR3Fs This is still by miles my favourite MOBA, it's direct control rather than clicking and something that has absolutely dominated my playtime this year. How to redeem your free copy on PC if you own it on console. From the Guardians Website (https://www.guardiansofmiddleearth.com/buy): Guardians of Middle-earth Steam Redemption Instructions We are pleased to offer Guardians of Middle-earth Steam free of charge to eligible users who purchased and played the console version. Now, developers Monolith and Zombie Studios are looking to bring the Lord of the Rings themed game back to its roots: the mouse and keyboard. Now, GOME was simplified a bit when it came over to the controller set, and for good reason. Skills have larger areas of effect to allow for easier control with a twin-stick setup, the traditional in-game item shop was removed in favor of a loadout system, and a match timer was added to shorten games. The result is a much more accessible experience than its MOBA ilk like League of Legends or Dota 2, both of which have been dominating the PC scene for some time. The core gameplay from the console release hasn’t changed too much. You still have 36 Guardians to choose from (all the DLC packs are included with the PC edition), many of which were either in the Lord of the Rings trilogy or have since been seen in The Hobbit. Legolas is still there, as are Bilbo and Sauron himself. It’s still got two main maps in 1-lane and 3-lane arenas. Hell, it even supports Steam Big Picture mode and controllers, just in case you really dug playing that way. But that doesn’t mean GOME has made its way to Steam entirely unchanged. The biggest addition is the inclusion of exclusive alternate skins for each of the 36 Guardians, all of which can be purchased by way of the in-game store. The character skins join the three map skins available as DLC for the original version of the game, which change the look of the map to The Shire, Goblin-town, or Mirkwood. Survival mode, a wave-based game where teams of five do their best to try and survive the onslaught of wolves, goblins, and other Lord of the Rings creatures as they stream towards the team, also makes an appearance. First introduced as DLC for the console versions, Survival is a fun little distraction from the more serious modes, but it’s hard to imagine it being anything more than that. While technical issues were prevalent in the console versions of Guardians of Middle-earth, the PC edition seems to have solved several of those problems. My online demo experienced very little lag, and I wasn’t dropped from a match a single time. That would have been somewhat unheard of when the console review was written, so it was a welcome change of pace. Part of that comes with the help of Guardians of Middle-earth’s full Steamworks integration. With the help of Valve’s servers and software, the developer has smoothed out the matchmaking process, as well as added leaderboard support.
  11. I've been looking forward to this since seeing a preview a while ago. Anyone else like the look of this? Reviews seem positive, and it's out on Xbox Live now so I'd be interested to know if anyone's played it. I'll be waiting for the Steam version out at the end of the month.
  12. Just a quick video. There are 157 cars, grouped in classes (F,E,D,C,B,A,S,R) There are 4 kind of single player game modes: - Time Trial (with online Top20 fastest lap, like MRGP2) - Time Attack, pass the checkpoints and complete the most amount of laps. - Head to Head, finish first after a one-lap quick race, to advance on the next track. - Quick Race There is one local-multiplayer game mode: - Battle Mode (up to 4 local player), you should stay ahead, and gain a screen distance over opponents. There is the online race mode (like MRGP2) I will add some other kind of games, and probably a "season mode". (but I don't know if before or after the release as update) Just to have some feedback (positive/negative) from you (if you want, I'll appreciate it). I know that it's just a video.. but also with MRGP2, starting from a video, I got some nice suggestions. Have a nice day
  13. Microsoft's new thing to try and combat PS+ does everyone know Fable III is free right now? Why didn't they bother to announce this?

Xbox One could well be the most disastrous hardware reveal by any major game company... ever. Their online and used game policies have rightfully drawn the wrath of gamers and media alike. Can they turn it around? Well for many, nothing short of a complete reversal of the aforementioned policies would be enough to sway them, but for those willing to suck it up and play ball, then MS will be looking to shower you in games. With journalists being largely shut out this year, and rumours of yield problems resulting in a down clock of the systems already weak GPU, Microsoft need to have the best E3 imaginable to sway gamers opinions on the system. From Eurogamer: Resized pics below (full fat ones at the link above): Looks pretty nice. Mirror's Edge was amazing and Dead Island was lovably shonky so I'll be following this one with interest.
  18. A friend of mine, has released this really cool game. if you love fps+minercraft style, I suggest you to give it a try Have fun! http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Blocks-and-Tanks/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550d17?cid=RSS The world is fully destructable. You have 2 kind of fire (cannon and gun) and 1 block rebuilder (you may build blocks, as defence). Both cannon and gun, have the "sniper" mode.
  19. According to NeoGAF the next-gen only rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt as it's from a different source than the rest.Animated loading sequences, who said they were running out of ideas!
  20. Respawn Entertainment has trademarked the name Titan, possibly hinting at the title of its first game. According to a trademark application filed on April 15th, Titan refers to video and computer game programs; video games discs; video game software. Respawn was founded by Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella back in 2010 after their departure from Infinity Ward. Previously, a blurry image was the only thing shown from Respawns game, though Zampella teased an upcoming E3 reveal back in February. Last month, West left the company.
  21. This has now been confirmed by a Playstation Blog listing by a Sega rep. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/04/15/castle-of-illusion-coming-to-psn-this-summer/ No word on other platforms, I'd be very surprised if it's not released on 360 at least. PS3,360,PC confirmed
  22. http://marketplace.x...15-d8025841125d Had a good couple of hours fun with this today after trying the demo then buying the full game straight after. 800msp The lovely pixel art graphics are very similar to Scott Pilgrim but the action is much faster paced. Awesome chiptune soundtrack too. There was some sort of story but I don't know the original game this is a spin off from and didn't care for the anime drama, so ended up playing single player Arcade mode. There is also 1-4 player co-op and vs, local and online. Neogaf thread has all the basic info screenshots and videos you could possibly want. http://www.neogaf.co...ad.php?t=514402
