  1. Out Now Price: £14.99 Metacritic: 82 So on the eve of Bloodstained getting released, a small indie game has been released on the Switch eshop and on Xbox (it released last year on the PS4 and Steam) called Timespinner. And it's Castlevania. No seriously, it's Castlevania. Look at the map! Basically, you play a young girl who travels through time to try and stop an Empire from destroying her homeland. This involves travelling from the past to the present in an effort to figure out a way to reach the Emperor and kill him. So there's castles. And backtracking. And big, screen filling bosses. And it's great. Seriously, if you're a fan of the old DS Castlevanias, give it a go. You won't be disappointed.

Official Site: http://www.nobrakesgames.com/human/ Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/477160/Human_Fall_Flat/ PS4: https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-gb/games/human-fall-flat/cid=EP4395-CUSA07208_00-HFFGAMEANDTHEME0 XboxOne: https://www.microsoft.com/en-GB/store/p/Human-Fall-Flat-Pre-Order-Bundle/C22428T6ZLMF Picked this up as I fancied something a bit different and had some spare PSN credit (also it's on XB1, PC). Really enjoying it so far, I know I've missed quite a few achievements trophies on the way looking at the list, really fun physics puzzler. I think these shorter more compact games suit me better than sprawling epics at the moment, really been enjoying a few (e.g Little Nightmares). I'm glad I've taken a punt on this kind of thing lately they really cleanses my palette. I also never felt like I was fighting the controls particularly which is often the case with these (Octodad etc) I'd imagine playing this coop with a similarly inebriated friend would be ideal for this or a pretty great parent/child game Worth a go /10

  6. Couldn't see a thread for this, so I thought I'd start one, cos it looks pretty nice. Chado might be able to resolve this situation thanks to Shiness, a magical spirit that only he can see. Explore a large and captivating world with which you'll be able to interact thanks to the power of your 5 playable characters: crush a big rock using pure strength to enter a secret cave, or use telekinetic powers to activate some mechanisms and discover a back entry… During your journey, you'll meet dozens of dangerous enemies with whom you'll have to face off during hyper-dynamic fights mixing magic, and traditional fighting game mechanics (hit, block, combos…). Gain experience during those fights, while progressing in the storyline or by accomplishing numerous side quests. Evolve your characters, learn new skills and spells, and become the hero who will unify the civilizations of Mahera. ACG gave it a buy:
  7. I'm so happy this is getting a release over here! Disaster Report 4 is the latest in the Disaster Report / Raw Danger / SOS: Final Escape series and this release has had a long road to get here. DR4 was originally due to be released on PS3 but then the Japan earthquake happened and the game was cancelled indefinitely. A few years passed and fans were still upset at the cancellation and so new company Granzella (former IREM employees) formed and acquired the rights. They made some PlayStation Home content (£££) and then set to work on developing DR4 again from scratch. I'm currently playing DR1 - it has a lot of terrible dialogue, but the game is oddly serene in its pace as you try to navigate to safety - it doesn't really have strong survival mechanics (like say Don't Starve) but the looming threat that any part of the environment might fall apart at any time. Disaster Report 4 is due early 2020 on PC, PS4 and Switch. Past Releases 2003 - SOS: Final Escape (DR1) - PS2 2007 - Raw Danger! (DR2) - PS2 2009 - Disaster Report 3 (Japan only) - PSP
  8. I couldn't find a thread for this so I thought I'd just make one instead of burying discussion of it in one of the Switch threads. I bought it in the recent eshop sale after enjoying the demo and reading lots of good reviews. Unfortunately, I seem to be completely terrible at it and can't get beyond the second stage of the first boss (the second non-checkpointed track, after the opening credits - it's called 'New Game'). Am I doing something wrong or is the game just bastard hard? I sailed through the initial non 'boss' songs fairly easily and enjoyed the way the shapes mirrored the music, and although I was able to complete the first stage of the boss after a few goes, I can't seem to get more than half way through the second stage. The pink projectiles fly onto the screen so quickly that it seems more a case of playing each track a dozen times until you remember where you can and can't go, as opposed to reacting to the environment in real time, if that makes sense. What are your experiences of it? At the moment I'm seriously tempted to wuss out and turn on casual mode.
  9. Did anyone else start playing this on the Switch the other day (Or indeed has played it on other platforms). I'm really enjoying myself. Combat is fast and fun. The plot can be a little talky and slow but I like the castaways idea and building up the base slowly as you move through the plot is satisfying. Currently I'm level 30.
  10. Missed Ubi's conference yesterday, but caught up with this today. It looks like it has a lot of potential, but then again, Ubisoft. I don't think I've played a decent snowboarding game since Amped on the OG Xbox. (I don't even know if there have been any apart from Amped 2). Side note: Is it just me or is that logo utterly awful? 14. This came out of nowhere and climbed straight to my top 5 most wanted games: I'm really loving the art style and the animation. Here's me hoping this will be as good as its presentation! It seems like the devs are fond of classic games. This easter egg should be familiar to most posters on here: Some more screenshots:

  16. Official Site Release Date: August 2nd 2016 ABOUT IMAGES VIDEOS One of the few stand-out games from the Sony media briefing.
  17. So this is out in two months, the sequel to the greatest golf game ever made. I put many, many hours into the first and it became probably only the second game I legitimately got very good at. The new swing mechanic is all going to be tough, its based entirely on the tempo, so no more pauses after your backswing. Enhanced social elements to make multi-player easier, along with enhanced graphics, course creator, and its also been announced that all original TGC courses can be carried over to the new one. Day one for me.

  21. Systems: Pretty much everything Price: £15.99 Genre: Turn Based Strategy Remember Advance Wars? Remember your childlike C.O pitting your army against opposing enemies to sunny backdrops and jaunty music? Remember how it was (and still is, in my opinion) the best turn based strategy game around? Now remember how we haven't had a new game in the series in over 10 years? Nintendo, why do you hurt me so? Now enter Wargroove. Not so much a homage to Advance Wars, but an almost blatant rip off. This isn't a bad thing, though. If Nintendo won't work with the IP, at least someone is willing to take the mantle and run with it. Obviously, the biggest difference is the Medieval setting. So no tanks, then. Instead you have Ballistas. And Giants. And don't expect any aircraft. There be dragons here, instead. Plus, it expands massively on what Advance Wars started. 4 Player Multiplayer? Check. Online? Check. Create your own maps and share them online? Check. Essentially it looks like Advance Wars +++. Personally I would have been happy with Advance Wars +, but given the time spent on it (it was meant to be out over a year ago initially) and the obvious love the game has for predecessor, it seems like it might be something quite special. So when's it out? Today, hopefully! A shadow drop at the the end of the Nintendo Indie Direct is what we'd like. If not, it's definitely out soon, though. The developers have been all over Twitter, promising more information and a release VERY soon. I fully expect it it's not today, we will definitely have a date after the Direct. Just look at it! How could you not be excited?

  23. This year's AC edition for next gen. The screenshots don't look particularly next gen but looking at the controls that could be because they seem to be taken from the XB1 version. No idea what "Parkour up" and "Parkour down" means. There's also mention of a 360/ PS3 game coming separately.
