    Dirt Rally

Codemasters are streaming it on twitch just now - apparently this is far more of a sim than anything they've done before which for a rally game could be ideal. http://www.twitch.tv/dirtgame/ http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-04-27-dirt-rally-could-well-be-codemasters-first-real-sim From what I've seen of the stream (on my phone) it looks really good.
  2. Apparently no topic yet on this one: Yup, a Metroidvania though with emphasis on the -vania. It features a map out of holding shapes, with each shape containing randomly generated rooms that seamlessly connect. Enemies are also randomly spawned rather than being set to the same spots (though there are some patterns to note). There are skills and abilities that let you explore more of the map as you go along, but the combat is the main attraction which seems to be rather close to Odin Sphere and Muramasa. You have simple melee combos, though these will be expanded upon. It also has a delicious flow in collecting lots of tiny shards that you can exchange at your starting point for improved stats and abilities, slowing growing as you go along. Shards collected stay with you even after death, giving some people the impression that you only improve as you die, but you can do so without dying. Still, if you die you can often immediately upgrade. The graphics and setting are quite insane, taking Lovecraftian elements combining it with splendid animation and a suitable ambient track. Gorgeous, but at times it does have a Flash-feel to it. Not that it matters, it really taps into that one-more-try feel Rogue Legacy also had, but where I constantly struggled with Rogue Legacy's controls to do whatever the hell I wanted, this feels way more natural. It also gets REALLY intense as the game frequently throws dozens and dozens of enemies at you, taking cues from bullet hell shooters and the like. Prioritising enemies, and landing multiple hits at multiple enemies becomes the main draw, neatly referencing Vanillaware's games. It also has a shield/health system (working bizarrely well), hard bosses that seem possible, and... hey, lots of tongue twister names for those that like to fhtagn if you know what I mean. The only real drawback are the loading times (on PS4 at least). Recreating the areas can sometimes take up to minutes and while I appreciate the time to refill my mug, it those kill the flow somewhat. Luckily, it only bothers you near the start and end of runs. Regardless I'm in love, and this is the perfect in-between while I wait for Metroid: Samus Returns to drop. Seriously, if you like the slashy-grindy-upgradey aspect of Vanillaware games/Rogue Legacy you've got absolutely nothing to lose here and everything to win.
  3. Not a whole lot of info out there at the moment but we do have confirmation that you can ride a pink tricycle during the zombie apocalypse. Coming holiday 2016.
  4. has this been reported on here ....? Metro Redux: Two Games, 1080p on PS4 I could say how excited we are to be showing you this trailer, but I have an idea of what you really want to know… so let’s just cut to the chase. Metro Redux runs at 1080p, 60FPS onPlayStation 4. We had to sneak the PS4 development kits into Kiev to make it happen, but we wholeheartedly think it was worth it… Metro Redux includes Metro 2033 (for the first time ever on a PlayStation platfrom) and Metro: Last Light, remastered for PlayStation 4, with all the gameplay, AI, gunplay, and graphical improvements we added in Last Light now applied to both games. You’ll be able to download each game – Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux – from PSN for just $24.99 each – or if you prefer, pick up the boxed Metro Redux double pack for only $50. Expect to hear a lot more news from us between now and release later this summer! In the meantime, please enjoy our trailer for the game! http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/05/22/metro-redux-two-games-1080p-on-ps4/#sf3033726 Return to Post-Apocalytic Moscow With Metro Redux 4A Games and Deep Silver are bringing the iconic Metro series to the next generation. Metro Redux features fully re-mastered and improved versions of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, creating the most compelling Metro experience ever. With re-worked next-gen visuals, smooth 60FPS gameplay on console, as well as new and improved content and features, Metro Redux is much more than a simple HD upgrade. For the Redux edition, Metro 2033 has been completely overhauled: • The original game has been rebuilt in the latest and greatest iteration of the 4A Engine, bringing all the graphical and gameplay improvements from Last Light to Metro 2033 Redux • Enjoy completely re-mastered visuals: advanced lighting, dynamic weather, more detailed characters with improved animation, more dynamic destruction and improved smoke, fire and particle effects • Experience radically improved gameplay: advanced enemy AI, improved combat and stealth mechanics, superior weapon handling and more responsive, intuitive controls plus signature features from Last Light such as the atmospheric ‘mask wipe’ mechanic, weapon customisation, and silent kills and take-downs Metro: Last Light has also received a graphical face-lift and gameplay improvements that carry across both titles, including new melee animations, and the fan requested ‘Check Watch’ and ‘Check Inventory’ features. It also includes all previously released Season Pass add-on content – a further 10 hours of single-player gameplay. With Metro Redux, players now have the choice to experience both Metro games the way they want with the introduction of two unique ‘Play Styles.’ Those who favoured the more survival horror oriented gameplay of Metro 2033 can play both campaigns in the ‘Survival’ Play Style, a fraught slow-burn fight for survival with limited resources, deadlier enemy AI, and slower reload speeds. Those who enjoyed the more action oriented gameplay of Metro: Last Light can try the ‘Spartan’ Play Style, providing Artyom with a powerful set of combat skills and more plentiful resources. In addition, the legendary Ranger Mode returns to both games, providing the most immersive and challenging experience as the HUD is stripped away and hardcore rules apply. Upon release, Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux will each be available separately as a digital download for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and PC a suggested $24.99 / €19.99 / £15.99. Alongside the digital release, a boxed compilation containing both games, titled Metro Redux will be available at retail for a suggested $49.99 / €39.99 / £34.99. Metro 2033 Redux, Metro: Last Light Redux and the compilation Metro Redux are scheduled for release this Summer for Xbox One, PlayStation, and Windows PC. Dedicated Linux and SteamOS versions will also release later this year. Metro Redux is based on the internationally best-selling novel METRO 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKrf97qljs4#t=67
  5. This seems to have come pretty much out of nowhere and certainly looks incredibly impressive technically. That animation! It's being developed by Cygames, whose only real notable titles that I can see have been the card game Shadowverse and the Zone of the Enders 2 remaster. It's only been announced for PS4 so far but it's not clear yet if it's an exclusive.

    Until Dawn

Love this trailer So this is out shortly, cant find a thread. It looks brilliant, a sort of choose your own adventure teen horror flick. Would be fun to play in groups. It also has that blond cheerleader from Heroes in. Anyone pre ordered? I'd love to hear impressions.
  7. This looks interesting.
  8. Just announced at GamesCom. After a string of misfires it looks like Supermassive Games are returning to the successful Until Dawn formula for an anthology of stand-alone horror games where your decisions affect the narrative outcome and everyone can live/die etc Namco Bandai are publishing, so Xbox and PC owners to get to join in this time. The first story in the anthology is called Man of Medan and is due for release next year. I really enjoyed Until Dawn so I'm cautiously in. I think a lot of people were requesting that they basically do a series of stand-alone games where each focuses on a specific horror sub-genre so it looks like they were paying attention.
  9. Coming September 3rd, Velocity 2X is the sequel to Velocity Ultra is the remake to Velocity. If you are unaware of what this is, it's a 2D shoot-em-up crossed with puzzle mechanics. Previous games started out simple, giving you time to learn the basic mechanics, and throughout the game kept layering more and more abilities. I expect more of the glorious same here. 50 Levels, 25 Bonus Missions, lots of challenge. Trailer GOTY For "Hi folks, I’m just gonna put this out there: Velocity 2X is a game-of-the-year winner." - futurlab "When Futurlab posted Velocity 2X’s release date on the PlayStation Blog at the start of August along with the almost cocksure claim that their title will be a game-of-the-year winner, many (including myself) took this with a pinch of salt. After spending the last month playing this game day-in day-out, I can safely say that they have every right to make that claim. Velocity 2X certainly does feel like a true contender to that title and it is definitely one of the best games I have played on my favourite handheld to date." - The Vita Lounge "Velocity 2X looks and plays like a Game Of The Year candidate" - Brash Games GOTY Against "While we hesitate to call it a game-of-the-year contender, the Vita needs more titles like Velocity 2X, a game that's equally effective when experienced in short bursts on the move, or in the kind of marathon sessions that tablet and smartphones cannot compete with." - Digital Spy Awards Least Disappointing Game 2014 - Chet & Jon Podcast
  10. Welcome to the rllmuk Everybody's Golf Clubhouse for PS4! Based on the survey responses, we aim to play a weekly qualifier tournament (RGA Tour) followed by a monthly event (MUK Masters) which will take place on a Monday evening (to avoid conflict with Destiny & FIFA) and will be streamed live. Anyone can participate in the RGA Tour but the MUK Masters will be reserved for only the best of the best. I recommend browsing the guide before you take part: Rllmuk EG - Clubhouse Guide To get involved proper, follow this link to add yourself: Rllmuk EG - Clubhouse Standings The reliability of the data is based on what you input, we're not here to hunt down anyone who wants to cheat. I would also suggest adding at least some of your best official 18 hole scores prior to taking part as this will skew the handicap values otherwise. Handicaps are used to ensure a level playing field regardless of skill, experience or gear.
  11. So, with like 6 weeks (?) until Forsaken drops, and a list of Triumphs to grab, I assume (and hope) there'll be people reinvigorated to do things. Please drop your name and such in here, what you want to get done, and typically when you can play, and hopefully we can find each other? Uncle Mike - I want as many Triumphs as I can get. I have not done: Prestige Raid (all), Normal Spire of Stars, Whisper of the Worm, or as many Escalation Protocols as I'd like (I want the shotgun.) I can play pretty easily most work nights, typically between 7:30 to 11ish (based on tiredness and work.) I'll figure out some table setup when we've got a few together.
  12. Well, next to nothing is known thus far about Suda51's recently announced new game, except that it looks to be full of a bit of the old ultraviolence, and that it's being released exclusively on Sony's new console somewhere in 2015. In the year 2026 AD, a large tectonic disturbance occurred causing mass destruction around the world. South Western Tokyo split off into the ocean and became an island covered by a deep fog. Continuous seismic activity then caused a large spire to rise out of the ocean through the island creating a tower-like structure that pierces the clouds. Many mysteries remain hidden from the eyes of mankind await those courageous enough to dare approach the tower… Players fight through a treacherous tower obtaining various types of weapons and armor while finding creatures and mushrooms to eat in order to stay alive. Upon death, a player’s “death data” is then circulated among other player’s games where they will appear as formidable opponents. The sharing of “death data” is one of the various asynchronous multiplayer elements that can be found in the game. Let It Die is a free-to-play hack and slash action video game developed by Grasshopper Manufacture. It was developed for the PlayStation 4, along with a companion app for the game to be playable on smartphones. 15. Finally, crash mode gets the game it deserves - not many details yet, but it looks pretty budget... but it is made by the creators of Burnout. Personally I have high hopes and can't wait. Unfortunately only ps4 and PC at this stage Details on Eurogamer: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-04-26-the-creators-of-burnout-are-making-a-crash-mode-spiritual-successor-called-danger-zone

  17. Greetings good people. I know that this game is almost three years old now and has less activity lately due to Evolution being closed down. Thing is, there is still much interest in the photo mode, which in turn inspires folks to jump back on occasionally and have fun. In truth we all seem to forget how good the game actually is and how versatile its photo mode can be. This therefore is for those of you who like to capture those moments; so let's see your photo mode prides-and-joys, be they close-up details, action captures, wild paint schemes, impressive wreck-moments or just the captivating details in the scenery. Enjoy. 18. A malevolent force known only as Lina is devouring data from a vast, interdimensional network of servers overseen by sentient computers called ”motes.” In desperation, the motes summon heroes from a variety of parallel game worlds to face off against each other in one-on-one combat. The tournament victor has the potential to be awakened as the Blade Stranger—the savior who can vanquish Lina and protect the motes from further harm! Developed by Studio Saizensen, Blade Strangers is a hardcore old-school fighting game. The streamlined four-button control scheme makes it easy for beginners to deal out damage from day one…but the intricate combos, counters and specials give tournament-caliber players plenty of opportunities for frame counting, chain construction and hit-box science. Blade Strangers will bring together an eclectic mix of characters from various games when it comes to Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Steam this Summer. Studio Saizensen is including many of its own characters, like Umihara Kawase and notoriously underarmored Solange from Code of Princess. Other confirmed characters include Gunvolt and Shovel Knight. Blade Strangers publisher Nicalis’ titles will also be represented in the game, with characters like Quote and Curly Brace from Cave Story and Isaac from The Binding of Isaac. Debut trailer: Opening cinematic (extended): >> Official website. Looks pretty sweet, but then I'm a sucker for (obscure) Japanese 2D vs. fighting games. The Fallen Angels , anyone?

And while it doesn't have anything more than a second or third playthrough replayability, that's more than enough for the price that they're asking, at how many hours of enjoyment you're going to get through this. It's really a different style of puzzle game and it really surprised me ....It really was, just simply, a blast. I never expected to like it as much as I did..." Jimquisition - 10/10 Blast it all if it isn’t another impeccable entry in a year swarming with quality already. I fear this one will get lost in the shuffle of big budget games, but make no mistake – The Sexy Brutale deserves as much attention as any Horizon, Zelda, Nioh or Persona. Hardcore Gamer - 4.5/5 In the end, The Sexy Brutale is a marvelous and unique delight of a murder mystery, one you’ll have walked away from feeling shocked over what exactly you just saw play out in the story, satisfied over the challenging puzzles you’ll have solved to help out each masked guest, and dazzled over the vibrant and mesmerizing aesthetics. PSU - 8.5/10 Awash in a frankly ridiculous amount of charm and bolstered by a genuinely innovative time travel mechanic, The Sexy Brutale is one of the most deliciously refreshing puzzlers to come along in a good long while IGN - 8.2/10 Every murder The Sexy Brutale includes is uniquely fascinating to investigate, with the central loop of searching for clues and executing a plan to alter time continually engaging. I found Boone’s quest so fascinating, the Brutale’s secrets so alluring, and its world so charming that I rewound the clock just to spend a few more days in Lafcadio’s beautiful nightmare. Destructoid - 8/10 Though The Sexy Brutale fumbles a few times -- especially near the end when it rushes toward a narrative payoff -- it never hurts the experience. Uncovering the mansion's secrets and the twisted plot that dooms its guests is exciting. Compared to almost any other puzzle game, The Sexy Brutale's dark tone and inspired art stand out from the crowd. Solving murder might not be the most cheerful work, but it's one hell of a good time. Wccftech - 8/10 While I may have some minor gripes with The Sexy Brutale, I think it’s a wonderful puzzle game, one that’ll really reward your time. The mansion is smartly designed, harking to the intelligently planned Spencer Mansion of Resident Evil, and the way you learn about characters is inspired by one of the most unique aspects of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. The Sexy Brutale has bombastic music, a great cast, and some very satisfying puzzles. While not outstanding, it’s well worth your time. Metro - 8/10 An inspired mix of graphic adventure and Majora’s Mask style time travel, that offers some of the year’s most inspired puzzle-solving VideoGamer - 8/10 The secret stories Father Lafcadio uncovers are lovely, but you won't always enjoy the process of uncovering them. Still, a series of elegant murders, with elegant stories, in an elegant mansion is enough to show anyone a good time. Time and time again...
