  1. Steam early access available now... Here's the blurb and here's a video... First and foremost, we’re building a FUN racing game with PERSONALITY. It’s all about the stuff that really matters: varied tracks, cool cars, and the defining once-in-the-lifetime moments that can be achieved only with true-to-life physics simulation. If you’re familiar with the original FlatOut experience, you already know what we’re aiming at: exhilarating racing action with sophisticated physics and damage modeling, only this time we’re upping the ante on almost every front. This is the game we envisioned way back in the early 2000s, only re-imagined for today’s technology and gaming standards. Oh, and we’ve got full-blown, straight-up demolition derbies, too, to go with your full contact racing. The cars are old, cheap, banged up, patched together, rusty… just awesome! In short, our cars ooze with STYLE! You won’t find anything like them in other racing games. We’ve got variety: everyone loves the old American heavy-hitters from the muscle car era, but we’re not neglecting the fun little European and Asian cars from the long-gone decades either. The best part is that you’ll be taking them apart and building them back up again in your garage. Need more horsepower on a budget? No problem, scour the classifieds for a bargain supercharger – just remember that a cheap bargain find might not withstand too much punishment! The career is as much about your garage and your project cars as it is about racing. Exciting Engine. Our in-house ROMU engine is a beast. A hell-bent beast that’s precision-engineered for high-speed, breakneck racing. You could not create this experience with just any engine. The ROMU engine is all about heavy metal going way too fast and crashing into stuff. At Bugbear we’re all about putting you in the driver’s seat. That’s why our engine is simulating everything, to give you great feedback on what your car is doing. You’ll feel the little bumps on the track, the weight of your car when you go over them – and most certainly you’ll feel it when you’re being dealt some damage, only that getting HURT has never before felt so good! We can’t wait to show you what we can do with today’s hardware. Now we have fully dynamic visual car damage (no predefined damage models!), and the environments are more destructible than ever before. Essentially, we can now put a ton of flying metal and dirt in the air at any given time, and we certainly will! Pre Order here.... http://nextcargame.com/ The weekend smasher deal is just the game (w Steam key) but you get early access build to play now (as seen in VVV videos). Then you get the full game once here.
  2. I played this for hours last week in Sweden. (And did a couple of days of snow and ice drifting to match.) Ask away!

Couldn't find another thread on this (did a quick search though so feel free to merge) so thought I might start one... One of the shortcomings of the GT series over the years is the sound however it's looking good this time as some focus seems to have been put into this! http://uk.ign.com/articles/2017/06/28/gran-turismo-sport-creator-kazunori-yamauchi-talks-sound-steering-wheels-and-shifting-gears-ign-first Sounding very impressive so far...

  7. Where to Watch (UK). Subsciption WRC+ Pay TV Some Live Stages and Daily Highlights Show on BT Sport Free VERY Brief Highlights on YouTube I used to love rallying back in the late 90s early 00s with McRae, Makkinen, Burns and Sainz battling it out but then a combination of Burns tragic death, McRae retiring the the complete dominance of Loed meant I lost interest in the late 2000s around the same time Subaru quit because of the financial crisis. This was at the same time as the coverage moved from the BBC to Channel 4 and then I don't know where it went after that but for a few years I don't think it was on tv at all. Since I got BT Sport a few years back I've started to get back into it. I caught the tail end of the VW Polo's domination but since they quit because they needed the money to pay off some diesel related lawsuits it's actually been nice and competitive with lots of different drivers winning events and new talent like Tanak coming through. I still wish the cars were closer to their road going version and actually desirable. I know this will never happen again due to safety but they can at least make them nice to look at. I mean look at the Citroen DS3 WRC, that has to be the ugliest rally car ever to compete. They are seem to be a lot more fragile as well. One minor impact and they're out of the race. You are never going to see something like this again. Anyone else still watch it? I still think Ogier will win this season because Neuville is making too many small errors that he is unable to recover from as well as Ogier. It's a shame Tanak wrecked his cooling on a rock for the second time this season because he was making a great late charge for the title but it'll take something special for him to win it now. Also Kris Meeke has somehow got another competitive drive, he's going to be with Toyota next season https://www.autosport.com/wrc/news/139286/meeke-secures-toyota-seat-for-2019-wrc-return I cannot see him changing his driving style to avoid crashing quite so often but this really is his last chance I just hope he makes the most of it. Personally I'd rather have some new talent in what should be a competitive car but hopefully he'll prove me wrong.
  8. So this is amazing, and it deserves more coverage (in my opinion). They're looking for $30,000 and they've already got over half that within a day. There's no mention of stretch goals yet, personally I'd love to see it come to Vita. Building on the classic modes everyone has come to know and love, Drift Stage plans to include multiple new game types utilizing modern game design techniques, such as an infinite drift mode incorporating a procedurally generated course with checkpoints, as well as a decal system, allowing you to personalize your car with custom images. Single Race A conventional single player race against AI opponents. Time Trial Race against staff ghosts and your personal best as well as your friends' best online leaderboard times. Infinite Drift Checkpoint style races on a randomly generated track. Daily Challenges Challenge your friends in a time/score based daily challenge. Career Mode Choose your racer and follow their story across multiple races. Workshop Create custom tracks in an in-game editor and customize your cars with decals. Local & Online Multiplayer Drift Stage features local split screen up to four players, just like the old days, in addition to online racing. There's a playable demo available here and even in the early alpha state, it's hugely enjoyable. The demo even has a photo mode in it already, so it's already way better than Driveclub!

  10. The UK looks a lot messier than Australia did in FH3 but as someone who loved the original Forza Horizon I do miss the tight roads for the original game. Hopefully some narrow A road appear in the game where you cant just plow through a wall will help recreate that feeling.

  12. It's been a while, but now that Forza Motorsport 6 is almost upon us, we've decided we want to organise another forum racing cup. I'm collaborating with Boozy the Clown - he's going to take care of the choice of car and tracks, and the type of race (endurance, teams, sprint - tba) whilst I'll do the scoreboard spreadsheet and the organisation in general. More will be announced when later, but for now please register your interest by replying with your gamertag. Furthermore, take the poll above to let us know which day suits you best. Races will be of course held in the evenings, and the bar will be set low (low class car, damage off, assist allowed, stock tuning, etc). There will only be one league of 24 participants at first, so it'll be on a first come - first served basis (so be quick!). If we get more than 24 people, there will be wildcards handed out for those who missed the boat, so they can join when there's a spot left. You can see the list of participants below. Thanks! 13. Hello rllmuk! With a written permission of the committee, I'm here to present our upcoming game and looking for beta-testers. I'm Jari from Traplight Games, and we are the developers of 1000 Heroz, an iOS game published by RedLynx with 1000 days of tournaments. I remember rllmuk from those times, there was some of you playing it and since our upcoming game shares a lot of similarities with that game, I came knocking. In What on Earth! aliens start testing stuff they see on our TV shows (like Monster Trucks, Teleports, Exploding Barrels). You research new items, build your own tracks and drive and test stuff made by others, as well as compete in tournaments etc. The beta is completely free, you can not spend money - we just want to see what you can do with editor and get some real competition to the Leaderboards. Here's a quick trailer of the action: And a little bit longer feature with me yabbering about the game: http://www.appspy.com/feature/9460/hands-on-with-what-on-earth-where-trials-meets-littlebigplanet-in-a-most-spectacular-fashion So if you are interested, here's the link to the sign-up page. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1W2XjgDLrtUPXKHYn-RjlBX337aBRqOxJo0ttbeZL8SM/viewform We'll be sending the invitations in batches, first one maybe even during the weekend but latest on monday. We are starting off with iOS, but Android should follow at some point. There's a lot of known issues in the menu structure and player progression and we are going to revamp all the menus, but the main things Playing and Track Creation are good to try out. So come try them out! I'll be hanging around in here so if you have any questions or comments, just shoot. Screenshots!

  17. Just a quick video. There are 157 cars, grouped in classes (F,E,D,C,B,A,S,R) There are 4 kind of single player game modes: - Time Trial (with online Top20 fastest lap, like MRGP2) - Time Attack, pass the checkpoints and complete the most amount of laps. - Head to Head, finish first after a one-lap quick race, to advance on the next track. - Quick Race There is one local-multiplayer game mode: - Battle Mode (up to 4 local player), you should stay ahead, and gain a screen distance over opponents. There is the online race mode (like MRGP2) I will add some other kind of games, and probably a "season mode". (but I don't know if before or after the release as update) Just to have some feedback (positive/negative) from you (if you want, I'll appreciate it). I know that it's just a video.. but also with MRGP2, starting from a video, I got some nice suggestions. Have a nice day
  18. So Criterion head Alex Ward has been on Twitter and he said this: So, no Burnout or Burnout-alikes for the forseeable future! I'm pretty disappointed, they're pretty much the only racing games I really enjoy these days, and I would have loved to see one on the new systems.
  19. The servers are still up, apparently! Anyone still have this and want to play a few games? There are a few achievements we can get as well if people don't have them. I'm actually pretty bad at the game and haven't played it for ages, but it's all fun ...

  21. I know we've been using the WRC 2 thread basically for this but I feel it deserves its own thread. It's out for PC, PS3 and 360 this Friday, 12th October for anyone interested and the PS Vita version is out on October 26th. I'll post a link to the older thread for now as I've got to go out but a lot of good videos posted there. There's also a PS3 and 360 demo out now for anyone to try It's also up for voting on Steam Greenlight as well to get it onto Steam if anyone wants to support that. I have no idea why they have to do this but I guess there must be reasons for it. http://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/?searchtext=wrc+3&searchtexthidden=&childpublishedfileid=0&section=items&appid=765&browsesort=torate http://www.rllmukfor...ip/page__st__90 http://www.wrcthegame.com/wrc.html Looking at the official site, some details: and looking at the car list:
