  1. The audio design for this is shaping up to be excellent. I think I'm looking forward to the music more than the actual game... Some golden-oldies.. Roll on Friday!
  2. I just thought we could start splitting out more of the discussion from the Nintendo Direct thread into individual discussions. As you can see from there a discussion has started about how this remake is going to change elements of the game (rather than just being up-rezzed) with the brand new visuals being very apparent and Nintendo apparently saying they are examining gameplay elements. So I'd take the fact that this IS NOT simply The Wind Waker HD as the kicking off point for the discussion.

  6. So, even the mighty Edge is going with it then... ( > http://www.edge-onli...land-for-wii-u/). Yesterday rumours started doing the rounds that Mario's pet dinosaur will be the star of the WiiU's next big platformer. Reasons for this was a Canadian retailer listing Yoshi's Land as one of the imminent releases for the WiiU. Add to this the fact that one zealous NeoGAFer stumbled accross the title when messing about in the WiiU's debug mode, and you've got a rumour that makes the hearts of any Nintendo fan skip a beat. Meanwhile, Nintendo has already stated that it doesn't want to co

  9. Because this is getting pretty good reviews everywhere, and there doesn't seem to be a thread about it... Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE is a crossover role-playing video game developed by Atlus and published by Nintendo for the Wii U home console. The game is based on the two companies' respective Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem series. The game was released in Japan in December 2015, and internationally in June 2016. The gameplay uses a turn-based battle system in which the characters merge with beings known as Mirages to fight enemies, employing a vari

  14. Link Platinum Games, the studio founded by former Capcom developer Clover, has apparently struck a deal with SEGA to publish three games. Those games are: • Bayonetta, directed by DMC creator Hideki Kamiya, and is described by the site’s correspondent as a “stylish action game” with “a witch battling angels”. Apparently she has guns on her feet. • A science-fiction RPG for the DS called Infinite Line, where you play as a starship captain, customising your ship and crew. • A Wii game called MadWorld. ...it’s, “Black and white Sin City graphics, with red blood. Ultra ultra violent. Fat
  15. Unless I'm mistaken, how the hell is there not a thread for this? Anyway, the classic 2D Mario games are infamous for their quality platforming, art style and level design. Little Big Planet always had the right idea, but people wished it controlled and felt like Mario. And that now has happened. And there isn't even a thread here? What the hell! Anyway, SMB, SMB3, Super Mario World and NSMBU art style, assets, moves/design ideas and potentially physics (there was a thread on neogaf saying the different physics from all those games are potentially present too) are all in there. It's basic

  19. Voting is closed as at 00:00 27-02-2017 - any changes or additions to votes from now will not be counted. It's that time of year again! A little bit earlier than usual, as I realised I won't be free at the end of February, and I still want to give you all a whole month to vote. This year's awards are going to be slighter than previous ones - which will be good news for those of you who don't enjoy my sparkling wit, or those who don't enjoy their awards ceremonies ending halfway through the year - as I have a fair amount of stuff going on in my life at the moment and so
  20. Okay with just a few days left on this (already funded) Kickstarter, figured it deserved a thread of its own. The 90's Arcade Racer http://youtu.be/bywfy_hcq_s http://www.kickstart...0s-arcade-racer Proper old school Arcade racer based on the likes of Scud Race, Daytona USA and Indy 500. WiiU release just announced along with PC/Mac, Android, iOS and Linux. Also its looking highly likely that there may be an ingame billboard featuring a certain forum name that may be close to a lot of your hearts (not NeoGaf!) So whos in? I certainly am!..... 22. The trouble with Nintendo Here's some thoughts I've had about what's wrong with Nintendo. 1) Cheapskates. Spend some money. Open more studios. Hire some new talent. Maybe set up a few studios in the West. I don't know why this isn't happening. Nintendo have a great selection of IP. Titles like Zelda, Metroid and Mario, Mario Kart, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, New Super Mario Bros, Starfox and of course Pokemon seem to do pretty well for them. These titles offer lots of different playing opportunities and conceivably mean Nintendo could offer something for everyone. A lot of these games are so
