Stocking up the drinks cabinet for winter

For the upcoming spell of cold weather I'd thought I should prepare a reasonable selection of staple spirits... Looking for suggestions for decent-ish brands of gin, rum (but not clear/white rum), cognac (or armagnac), vodka and tequila to acquire. I'm only a very light drinker, so is my girlfriend, so whatever we get may last a fairly long time, and we're not exactly connoisseurs, so doesn't have the be the top-end stuff. From the 'regular' brands, I'm currently leaning towards Bombay Sapphire on the gin front, unsure about the other drinks at this point.
